    Love the colors

Fun little spot out in DTF. My girlfriends and I came here recently for my bachelorette party. We had a table to ourselves. Love that you can bring in your own food and drinks while painting your ceramic. Love their selection of ceramics. They have a lot of cute ones from small to large. There is a price difference if you plan on choosing a bigger ceramic to paint. Once you choose your ceramic, staff will tell you how to choose your paint colors and how many layers are needed for a certain color to show. They're very thorough at making sure you get what you need. My girlfriends and I spent about 3 hours here. It was very fun. We got to catch up with each other during this period. Picking up our ceramics did take about a week. They'll hold your items for you for up to 60 days. Definitely a fun activity for all ages!

We had such a fun and relaxing time at Kitsch Studios! It was our first time doing something like this (surprisingly) but definitely want to do it again! Making reservations on their website was easy - no deposit required either, we just showed up and paid after we were done with our session. Place itself was located in a trendy area, big enough for multiple parties. Cool music played throughout our time there. Employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of pieces to choose from too! You get to choose your own colors which was cool! And then we just went to town, painting away for a couple of hours. It was so much fun honestly. Perfect Sunday date. Prices were decent and l believe their website said they give you a three hour limit which was perfect - we took around 2 hours. Oh and you can take food/drink in with you. 10/10 recommend! Can't wait to pick up our pieces in a couple of days!

Bat piece I made - note: not a beginner level piece, do NOT try without previous experience.

I adore this place. I take the stain glass classes here (they're once a month). The teachers are the business owner and her mom. They're very talented and knowledgeable. Lauren (the owner) is such a kind person. The vibe and atmosphere is calming. They also sell snacks and beverages. Such a great small business.

We had a kintsugi workshop here and it was very well organized. Good parking in the back as well. Only bummer was the unwillingness from one of the associates to check with her direct report for a potential deal on the items we purchased.

I came here for my sis-in-law's birthday, and we had so much fun painting! She reserved 3 hours for a group of around 10 of us, and we were allowed to bring our own food and alcoholic beverages. There is a wide assortment of ceramics to choose from; I was quite overwhelmed, being the indecisive person I am, but I eventually settled on a small berry basket. The staff was very helpful and made the whole process smooth. There was a fun variety of paint colors, some with multi-colored speckles to add texture and give your ceramic some pizzazz. You write down the colors you want and the staff gives you a palette. They were very attentive and great at refilling any paint that was low! After you finish, they give about a week turnaround time for the kiln. I loved my finished product!! We had such a fun time painting and sipping, and I would highly recommend coming here for any occasion - birthday, date night, girls night, any time really!

Omg!!! This is a date night MUST!!! I came here on Friday night and trust me i WILL BE BACK! Not only is it super welcoming but I'd consider it a cheaper option than most places similar to this. The two girls that were working were so sweet and patient! They do close at 9 so make sure you book accordingly. It's a great way to connect with your partner and just enjoy a nice night out. They let you bring your own beverages and snacks, so we enjoyed it with a nice rose from target haha. Pieces start from 12$ plus the studio fee $11 which is not bad at all.

I went here with my significant other and we were able to choose from hundreds of potteries as well as different colors to paint. They had a wide variety of options between the colors and pottery so being able to choose was a little difficult, but it was so fun being able to paint and the items were done within five days and I was able to pick it up.

ABSOLUTELY recommend coming here!!! Kitsch Studios, you have my heart. After 1 visit, I knew had to come back and I already have 3 times in the span of 2 months!!! Definitely a new hobby unlocked. The owners are super sweet and friendly, and you can tell they take the effort to make the painting experience so much better. All of the staff are super fun and interactive! They always ask if we need anything and how we are doing. They also love to see what art you can create and overall make it a better experience. I highly recommend coming here instead of a chain because they have great selection of ceramics, paint, and music! It's such a vibe. Go grab a matcha next door at Vivot Cafe and paint your life away! I swear I was painting for 4 hours and they didn't mind as long as I finished my piece. I was very grateful to have the time to complete my birthday plate. The studio fee is $11 along with any ceramic you choose (price varies) and they also have a stamp card! On your 7th visit, you get the studio fee waved. It's great to know they appreciate those who come back! And I know I will definitely be coming back soon! Also, they do take reservations so that is very helpful as well. Overall 10/10 experience.

It is a really relaxing and creative outlet for all ages. I've seen elderly couples come here for a nice chat and paint. I've seen kids come with their moms and aunts for a play date. I come here often for a girl's night when school gets stressful. The staff are always sweet and accommodating, stretching closing time for small final details if needed as well as storing pieces for next time if you don't finish on time. Bestie and boyfriend approved. 10/10.

My friend and I wanted to do pottery painting and found this place online. You can reserve ahead of time or do a walk in like we did. The studio fee is $11.11 and the price of the item depends on what you choose. We were there for the entire afternoon and had so much fun painting. They encourage you to bring your own food and drinks (alcoholic if 21+). The workers are all so friendly and provided us a great experience. It takes about 3-7 days for your items to be processed and they give you a call/text once it's ready. You can also start a punch card to get a free studio fee on your 8th visit! I believe parking is paid in the lot, but we did free street parking that was in front of the store. ig: @cravingswithcat

I was introduced to Kitsch Studios by a friend and it's a hidden gem. Service/Ambiance: The workers here are extremely accommodating and friendly. I only have good things to say about my experiences here. Kitsch studios sells plants in the front of the store but the middle half to back is the where the pottery painting is located. All of the pieces are organized and the space is always clean. You can make a reservation online or walk in. Pottery Painting Review: I love painting pottery here! It's superior to color me mine because it's more affordable, you get access to unlimited paints and paint time, and you can bring in your own food or drinks. Wine included! I recently held a birthday here and everything went smoothly. We drank, painted, and laughed - best birthday ever. And, the studio plays great music. I would highly recommend coming to Kitsch Studios.

Such a pleasant experience all around! For starters, I called the studio prior to entering to inquire about several aspects and all of my questions were answered thoroughly and met with kindness. Secondly, this experience was not only for myself but also for a client of mine who is on the spectrum, they are absolutely spectrum friendly which is a plus! Emily and Kai were genuinely sweet and humble, providing all of the information needed to begin our artwork and checked on us several times to make sure we were doing well. In terms of the studio itself, there was a wide selection of pottery and colors to choose from which was absolutely amazing. The pieces themselves differ in price, the studio fee is $11 (this fee is separate from the piece of your choosing), In the studio fee it includes all the paints, paint brushes and stencils to be able to complete your art as well as pencils, sketch paper and a wooden tool. In addition they have a stunning selection of paint, some of which includes small pieces of glass which later explode in the kiln and creates a unique piece. The ambiance was beautiful. There were several plants by the main entrance and a sweet playlist was played as we tested our artistic abilities. There's even a shop within the studio that sells small items which was an awesome touch. The studio called me just a few days later to confirm the pieces had been completed! To top it all off they even have punch cards to be able to receive a free studio fee after 7 visits. Overall this place was killer and I'll definitely be coming back! Ps- can't wait to try the owners Italian restraunt they advertised!

100/10 experience!!! Amazing service, extremely friendly and helpful. They guide you through the steps and they have SOOOO many options to choose from it makes it so hard to decide because everything is so cute!!! My sister and I went for our second time and we love coming here. The inside is super nice as well, it's just an overall amazing place.

Ask the Community - Kitsch Studios

Are wine glasses provided if we bring our own bottle?

They are not but people have brought their own disposable wine glasses in the past. We do have small cups on hand for customers that order from our drink cooler!

What's the cheapest piece to paint? I'm trying to look for cheap brithday option!

We have some offerings starting at $12. We’d love to have you over for that celebration!

I know alc is allowed on the premises we have to be at least 21 to drink it inside the premises?

Yes. Underaged drinking is not allowed in the shop.

Are you able to fire ceramics that were done at home? If so, how much would it cost?

At this time we’re no longer offering this service. However, if it’s for a cone 06 firing give us a call or swing by and we may be able to work something out. Hope this helps!

When we arrived, they told me there is also a mandatory 18% gratuity. First, that is legally supposed to be disclosed clearly and in advance which it was not. The kids picked out their paint colors and then we found out that your location was out of (six) different colors that they wanted and they had to settle for less appealing options. The attendants were slow to replenish the paint and acted like it was an inconvenience, even though they were getting a "mandatory gratuity". They could have been nicer and more friendly. One of the colors they "replenished" was not the same color as we got at the beginning even though we asked for the same color # and the attendant even checked the # to make sure, and one of the kids ending up having two different colors of paint in one section of her ceramic piece that she was really disappointed about. When we asked the attendant how we could fix it, she said she didn't know and literally walked away mid-conversation to help someone else. She clearly did not care about our party once we sat down. My bill was almost $300 and the mandatory gratuity was $49.32 which was absolutely not worth the service we got. I doubt we would come back to your store since we never had this issue at Color Me Mine.

This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

The Brea location has more seating than other locations I've been to, which makes it a bit more forgiving if you try to do a walk-in. Reservations are made online and cost $5/person, which goes towards your total. From a large palette, you choose five colors. Sometimes if a friend and I want to use the same color, we'll just put it on one person's plate, which ends up giving us more color options overall! There's also a guide on each table with tips for different ceramic painting techniques. There's a cup of various styles and sizes of paintbrushes, and you can also request for a thin bottle for writing or detail-work. You get two hours to paint, but I've never felt rushed with either picking my piece or during the actual painting process. The staff here are always so attentive, courteous, and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. I've noticed that when it gets super busy and you need a paint refill and someone hasn't come by, don't be afraid to raise your hand or walk over to someone, everyone is super friendly. There were 6 of us in our group, 3 decided to work on cavas and 3 on making mugs. We all had a very good time, and found it was surprisingly relaxing when we focused on art! Our assistant, Rayn, was super nice and helpful, she tirelessly getting us refills of colors we needed and answered our many dumb questions.

Came to Color Me Mine on two separate occasions and loved both experiences! The first time was for…read moremy daughter's friend's birthday. It was such a cute party. The kids enjoyed pizza, drinks, and snacks and got to paint a ceramic piece of their choice. Such a great place to have a birthday party. Also, we recently came back to look for a birthday gift. My daughter chose a plate to paint for her aunt. Fatima and Madison were kind and helpful. They checked in on us often and helped my daughter when she needed help fixing a color on the plate. They were also patient when I asked for paint refills which was...a lot. I loved each visit and the staff made us feel welcome. Keep in mind it can get a bit pricey but the finished products are beautiful. If you plan to gift your ceramics, it'll take either 3 days (rush order for $5) or a week to pick up your order.

This is NOT for in-store experience. I mainly wanted to highlight that they have a take-home option…read morewhere you buy your ceramic for the price listed and the take home kit (I think it's $12?) which includes brushes and I believe 5 paints. We did this for our girl's day and while it can be initially more on the expensive side, we were able to paint at least 2-3 ceramics each. We did buy more paint than what was included in the take home kit because we wanted more colors, but if you plan your colors meticulously then the original amount you're given is more than enough to paint 1 ceramic each. The glazing is covered once you pay for the kit and ceramics and if you have leftover paint and want to go back to buy more ceramics, you don't need to pay extra for any of the glazing. I much prefer this than going in-store if you are doing a group activity. You can take your time painting and it's always nice to be able to do what you want in the comfort of your home. This is perfect for birthdays, girl's night or even just something to do with friends.
