This is my second time takin the Rug Tufting class and it is just TOO MUCH FUN!!! This studio is way too adorable, and FiFi - the instructor is awesome! Today, I brought my son and he really enjoyed how his project turned out!! I'm already trying to plan to bring my Daughter-in-Law - who lives out of state - when they come out for a visit! This is one of those projects you go in thinking, 'Oh my! Am I gonna be able to do this?' ... then you walk out with an amazing piece of art that you created. And if you have any issues while you're working on your project, either FiFi or her assistant are walking around offering any help you need! They also offer other classes in the next room over - I'll have to check it out and see what other classes I can try. But for now, I really enjoy this Rug Tufting class!! I had never used any stained glass tools before this activity, but with guidance from the staff it was easy to follow. It took longer than expected because we went at our own pace. I enjoyed that you could bring in an idea of your own design & get a custom template. If you know what design you want, have photos to show of your inspo with different variations in case it might be a bit complicated for first timers. Simple designs are encouraged & you can get inspo from the wall of previous work in the work room. It's very much worth the price point since you get a fair amount of freedom with your design & glass colors. I would come back to make another one or try a ring workshop! There's ample parking and so many activity options to choose from. Definitely make a reservation beforehand! read more

My friends and I made candles here for $49/person and liked the variety of scents they offered. The person helping us was really friendly and would check in on us intermittently. My girlfriend and I went for their silver jewelry workshop, and we both made our own rings. We had the owner helping us throughout the process, from forming the clay in the shape we wanted, to heating, buffering, and polishing! She was really helpful, especially to me since I'm not the best with arts and crafts. I loved the way our rings came out, and these are both our favorite rings. What an amazing find! Thanks Instagram you made me a cool mama. We did reservation online for Decoden art workshop. Deposit was $10 each/person which they add to the total of whatever piece you end up creating. Three cons: 1) It was hard to find, the building is not what you expect it to be (not pink and kawaii). From the outside very plain...so we had no idea where we were at first. 2) There was a group that was having a birthday party and they were hogging the space, charms and super loud. I think they were just super excited because everything was super cute. But still kinda made the beginning a bit much. 3) Looked like there were only two employees handling all the workshops. The person helping us was going back and forth helping the tufting rug workshop. There had to be at over two dozen just doing the Decoden art and stained glass. My daughter and I both chose to decorate cell phone cases. We had someone help us place the whipped cream glue and she taught us how to do the frosting. She was great when she had time, but as mentioned I felt they need more employees. Overall, my daughter was super happy. She's been staring at her new cell phone case waiting for it to dry (recommended to let it cure for 3-5 days). We are definitely going to be back and hoping next trip it will be less chaotic. read more

Just came to Softland Studios for a birthday party and it was super cute! Large space for kids to prepare their crafts and the back area is also spacious. The kids loved all the different choices they had for their craft items as well as the beads and decorations. It also seems like looming was available which seems quite fun for adults too! Another place for kids birthday party is a major plus! Everyone there was very attentive and super friendly with the kids. The bathroom was even decorated to be cute and also kid-friendly. Even just to do crafts, would definitely come back! As for pricing, since it was a birthday party we a were invited to don't have actually numbers but the host let us know the price per child was more affordable than their competitors. What a great experience, came here as a party of 4 for a small team building event and we had so much fun candle making. First you pick your cup (2 are included in the price and then they have fancier ones to pay extra for) then you pick your wax beads, the scents and mix! You get to create your own design in the cup and then add any extra wax figure on top which includes succulents, bears, hearts and all different types of figurines. I went with a friend to do decoden art here a few days ago and it was one of the most therapeutic experiences everrrr. It was my first time doing decoden, but the owner made the process so approachable and fun!! We were able to experiment with charm placement on the actual object beforehand and then practice the frosting (probably the most intimidating part) on a napkin. The selection of charms was ABUNDANT and soso cute. The charms were organized in boxes across the back wall making selection easy and smooth. The owner was so sweet and patient, she showed us the different styles of frosting we could do on a piece of napkin and gave us time to practice as well. My item (the mirror and hairbrush combination) was $28 total with the $10 deposit included in that total. All in all, I would highly recommend and will definitely be making a trip back with my friends in the future to try the other crafts as well. read more

This studio offers multiple classes like rug tufting or jewelry making. It's great as a group activity. We did the Decoden Art which you pick an item listed and decorate it with as many charms as you can fit. The staff will help assist when needed. When we signed up, the website lists 6 ppl per session (2 hrs). But if you call ahead, they can open more spots. Up to 15 for the Decoden. You do have to sign up individually and pay a deposit of $10 per person. The deposit goes into whatever you decorate. I got the 3 small hairclips for $15. So on the day of, I paid $5. This is in a business area so there's lots of available parking. read more

We came in for the decoden workshop, and it was so so fun and such a cuteness overload!! From the music to the amazing assortment of items and charms, the vibes and environment were so positive, peaceful, and fun! The owner is so incredibly sweet and patient with us as well, and made it a wonderful experience. I especially really like the variety and organization of the charms, which can be different at other studios. Because it's so easy to get overwhelmed, the drawer organization makes it very easy to find something you were looking for. There are lots of items to choose from - frames to combs to mirrors to phone cases and more, and this studio has one of the best deals and value for the price I've seen! While other places might have a notable charm limit and may charge for additional charms beyond that number, I didn't notice this here, and there was such a huge array of free charms available here, that I didn't even need to get to any figurines which understandably cost extra. Also, the $10 workshop deposit was actually deducted from the total item cost (so like $38 phone case - $10 workshop deposit = $28 at the counter + tip), so it was actually such an incredible value and best deal I've seen! Definitely coming back again and would love to support. Highly recommend for a wholesome experience! Thanks for such an amazing time! read more

My sisters gave me and my husband gift certificates for the tufting workshop, and we had such a good time, that I am planning to give gift certificates to other people, and check out the other workshops. Unlike other tufting studios, like the ones you might find in malls these days, our workshop was just 6 people and included a comprehensive training and individualized attention to make the product as good as possible. They really thought of everything. They prepared our canvas with our chosen picture so that it was set up when we arrived. It was a 5-hour workshop so they had water and snacks. The studio is well-air conditioned. I had intended the workshop to be a date night for me and my husband, but to be honest I was way too into it to bother talking to him I felt bad because I didn't finish within the 5 hours, but our instructor, Emmy, went above and beyond to help me get it done at the end. Don't worry: Everyone else in our group finished in time--just don't be a perfectionist like me and you should be fine. Also, wear comfy shoes because even though a chair is provided, I found it easier to operate the tufting gun while standing. read more

Saw this spot pop up on social media a while back and have been wanting to try it out. This is the cutest arts and craft business located in one of those Irvine business complexes. There are a few different things you can do here like candle making, phone case decorating, and rug tufting. I came here for a rug tufting experience which was about $175/pp which covers all of the materials and 5 hours. You start off with one of the staff members giving you an overview of how everything works and then you're off to start tufting your design. Designs were pre-selected when you make the reservation and they tell you to choose something simple which I highly recommend! Overall the process was fun for about 15 minutes but it gets super tiring and kind of takes a lot of strength. I made a cinnamonroll rug and that took a lot of work! My rug did come out super cute and I love that they walk around and help you along the way. This is definitely a fun experience and I'd recommend it as something to try at least once! read more

Registered for their tufting class and was delighted to find out that me and my partner were the only ones enrolled for the day! The class was scheduled from 1-6 but we were welcomed into this adorable and bright studio by Feifei 15 minutes earlier than our class time! Feifei ended up being our instructor and was very hands on with teaching us everything we needed to know, from the basics to intermediate skills needed for this course! She was so very patient with us as this was our first ever time doing something of this nature! The area is nice and provides plenty of parking! The prices are per item and you can have unlimited charms and pick two color for the cream. There are bigger charms/blind boxes you can purchase to put on your creation as well. Picking out the charms to put on our product was the BEST part. The charms are all super duper cute and there's a variety of sizes and categories so you can really customize it to your liking. My friends and I stuck to the Sanrio charms since those are the majority, but I did see some fruit/food and other lesser known characters as well.
