This place is so cute and fun! My friend and I really enjoyed our experience painting ceramics here, and I think that a ceramics studio is a great addition to DTF. The owner Lauren is friendly and welcoming. We were there on December 26th, so it wasn't busy. Lauren patiently answered all of our questions and gave us more colors of paint every time we had a new idea. It was definitely the best service and most personalized attention I've ever gotten at a ceramics studio. Lauren personally curates the ceramic selection by choosing the pieces for each season. There are a good mix of practical and fun pieces. The prices are fair and the firing is quick, so you can usually pick up your finished pieces within a few days. Between the shared space with a plant shop and the chill playlist Lauren put on, this place has a great vibe for hanging out and creating with your friends. Such a beautiful place, great music, cute pottery, the prices are at the bottom of the pottery btw. Just choose what you want to paint, let them know what colors you want. Paint and once your done they'll be ready in about a week or so, they message you or call you when it's ready to pick up. Walks in are welcome but you can also make reservations! Such a fun experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I loved that we were able to bring our own alcohol and enjoy a nice drink while painting. It wasn't busy when we went on a Wednesday night at 7 pm, since we were a large group we did reservations (not required). It took us a while to figure it out and paint. The staff waited for us passed closing hours for us to finish painting. Pricing: $11 for paint + item you would like to paint ($20+). This place is a gem! My boyfriend and I walked in on a Friday afternoon and they weren't busy. If it was the weekend, you can call ahead and make an appointment. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's downtown fullerton but there's direct parking behind the store that's shared with other restaurants. Naomi helped set us up. She was really patient with us while we decided which pieces we wanted, super attentive and kind throughout our whole experience. Their pieces are not like other chain places, definitely a more fun and unique selection. We weren't able to finish our set but they will hold your pieces for you and you can come back at another time without paying a studio fee again - which is awesome! It's beyond frustrating when you do everything as a customer to support a small business and receive nothing in return. (0 stars) I came to Kitsch in person over a week ago to inquire about their pricing, reservations, etc. for a friend's birthday I'm celebrating tomorrow, 2/4. I was explicitly told that I don't need a reservation because they always take walk-ins and they "aren't that busy". Their website even states "It might be wise to call first, but most likely you can walk right in and get painting." Earlier this week, I emailed through the contact link on their website to ask again if they think I should make a reservation as a precaution... didn't receive a response. I called today, the day before the celebration, inquiring for a third time if I should make a reservation since there's suppose to be a heavy rain storm and didn't know if they would get impacted by it. My inquiry was followed by a "we are fully booked and can barely fit our reservations for the day". I explain everything I have done to communicate and proactively plan, to now being told I can't even come in by not 1, but 2 different employees on the same phone call. After being on hold a couple of times, and having my information taken so the manager can contact me, the end resulted in them telling me the original time I was trying to come in (1130-1230ish after breakfast) isn't going to be feasible but I could come in around 5. This call was not made by the manager, and has ruined the plans we had for the day. I have friends driving from out of town to celebrate, not to mention everyone has work early the next day so the early activity was planned for a reason. This now leaves me trying to find an alternative indoor experience to accommodate our party of 5 because I was misinformed via employees, their website, and overall lack of communication. I'm so glad I did what I needed to try and find out the correct information because it would've been embarrassing and frustrating to show up tomorrow only to be turned away. Disappointed is an understatement.... *UPDATED REVIEW* the owner Lauren reached out to me personally to fix everything that happened. Honestly she was behind nice and super friendly, I really appreciated her time and efforts. When we went in, the service was great. The girls were super friendly and we had a super fun time. I actually didn't finish my piece so I went back to (they put it on hold for you which is so awesome). I did and they fired it so quickly so they could get it to me asap with my friends' completed pieces. I appreciate the follow up service and experience we had and I will now be incorporating this into my routine as this is such a relaxing and fun way to be creative on a budget. I am also looking into small piece packages for family with mobility issues as well as pieces for my wedding and they are being so proactive!!! Came here to paint ceramics with my friends and loved it so much that i went again recently with my brother! The atmosphere is super chill and cozy. They play great music in the background but it's soft enough to have convos or be able to focus. The process is pretty simple - you reserve online and once you book, you just show up, tell them about your res and start painting! They give you a few hours to paint and it flies by super fast. There's tons of pieces to choose from and they have great tools to work with. I've been trying to find ways to spend time with my friends other than just eating food all the time and this has been one of my favorite activities so far! Even my boyfriend who claims to not be an artist had an amazing time and the owner Lauren was so supportive and loved his work! I made reservations here on a Friday night at 7pm with a few friends. We were the only ones doing the painting, but there were some people coming in to walk around and browse in the plant area. When we got there, two workers helped explain the process and get us set up. They had really cute pieces to paint and each piece has a price on the bottom. There is also a base price for the materials and to sit and stuff. Depending on the piece you chose plus the base fee, I would say coming here could be about $30ish-$40 a person in total. The bigger pieces do cost more so keep that in mind. After we chose our pieces, we got to start painting as the workers who helped us choose our colors. I would say my only regret is choosing a late time to go in! My friends and I were a bit choosy deciding exactly what piece we wanted to do, what colors we wanted, and what design we wanted haha. So if you're a bit indecisive and if you want to take your time with your piece, I'd suggest at least 2 hours or more! Even though we did stay a few minutes after closing, the workers didn't rush us at all and were very kind thru the whole process. Our pieces were done about a week later and we were all so happy with the result! They came out super nice I would definitely come here again, of course planning for more time haha. It's a great date spot or place to hang out with friends. You can bring your own drinks, talk, paint, and relax :) Also the music they play here is very soothing, making the experience even better lol. read more
