The kind ladies at Not Your Mama's Quilt Store got online and started doing a search for who might manufacture it and where I could possibly get it. I wanted to sew a scrub cap for my surgeon DIL and get it to her within the week in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. I finally found some on Amazon that came in a short time. Etsy would print fabric on demand but not get here til mid month. The store is beautifully arranged with nice fabrics and quilting accessories and the prices seemed very reasonable. Anyway, I was so impressed with the helpfulness and kindness I received and I didn't even buy anything. It's so rare to come across a store/sales clerks that will go to that high of a customer service level! Anytime I need quilting fabric I am definitely coming here!

My husband & I with my handy little list, went there to stock up on supplies & other stuff. First, they have reorganized & expanded their showrooms , very nice. Everything makes sense & easy to find. If you are not finding something a staff member comes & helps immediately. The owners are great & super knowledgeable. I fully remember why this is one of my favorite supply stores & will remain that way. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but well worth it. For example, I ended up choosing very small broken mosaic pieces without realizing they're harder to work with. It would have helped if beginners were guided toward easier options. We also weren't given any patterns or examples unless we specifically asked. I think the workshop works better for people who already have experience. For beginners, it felt a bit stressful--especially since the environment seemed more focused on socializing and chatting rather than teaching. She did give us a free necklace from a previous event, which was a nice gesture. My final tray didn't turn out bad, but it wasn't great either, it has an uneven surface, maybe resin on the top would help but that had extra charge. As first-time students, however, we would have appreciated a bit more guidance and step-by-step instruction, especially at the beginning of the class. To be fair, our group chose designs that were more complex than many of the other projects in the room, which likely added to the challenge. Still, there were moments when we felt unsure about what the next steps should be and could have benefited from more clarification and direction. One of my friends became so overwhelmed and frustrated by the process that she ended up leaving the class early. I believe a little more hands-on support for beginners could make a big difference in helping new students feel confident and successful. That said, Amy was kind, and it's clear that she cares about her business and her students. With a bit more structured guidance for first-time attendees, I think this experience could be even better.
