Nelson's Duckpond sits in a residential area along a picturesque road. The parking was on their vast lawn and there were a few spots in the shade, which was a welcome relief during the very hot July summer. You were free to wander around the farm, partake in the U Pick Lavender option, nibble a few lavender poundcake samples at the tent, quench your thirst with some drinks, patronize the store with a ton of lavender stuff (I bought lip balm, poundcake mix, sugar, BBQ rub spices, chocolates,soap and room spray). The best part, however, according to the kid, was the duckpond in the back. The shop owner was super friendly when my son inquired as to why this place was called the "Duckpond" as he soon found out why - a turtle (forgot the name) and some ducks all share the vast huge back yard as one big happy fauna family. My son was lucky enough to be able to feed the ducks with some feed that was available for the Lavender Fest visitors. Everyone was super friendly and the grounds were very pretty. It wasn't only the lavender fields, but everything around it! I'd love to patronize their cottages next time I'm in town!

He answered all our lavender questions and personally showed us his drying building and fields. We lucked out that some of the English lavender was in full bloom ready to be picked. Apart from picking lavender, they have a home made nine hole mini golf course, gift shop tent, and cute goats/sheep/chickens. We spent about two hours here and had a fun time. We will be sure to return on a future trip out this way.

The property also hosts an apple orchard and produces several varieties of ciders. Samples of the ciders were available and we were able to purchase a bottle of our favorite, Duskrun. We also enjoyed the various balms, lotions and other products from the gift shop and learning about the usage of the lavender in cooking and self care products.

Loved the floral art chair, photoop area in the garden. Giant jenga, corn hole and nice chairs to relax in or bring your own lawn chair and chill with a glass, I think I'll be back often, now that it's Open Thursday thru Sunday in summer. Yay!

Deirdre and her husband Luke have put their talents into creating and improving upon this already gorgeous property. The lavender is high-quality and us so we're all of the products. They have put in a new playground for kids on one part of the property. They host events, including the up up circus. Please see my photo for the image and information. There's a beautiful house on the property that they rent out during the high season. It's a two night minimum and they will also do weeklong stays. The location is very close to the famous spit. There are some other places to stay nearby. Beautiful, walking, and great biking country. There are plenty places to sit outside, in the sun, or in the shade. Parking is plentiful. The girls are beautiful not only with the lavender but also with great flowers. It's really fun to go visit a number of lavender farms. You'll be happy you visited this one.

Let's start with the farm house: Cute 2 bedroom w/additional loft, 2 bath, living room, game room and/or additional living space, fully stocked kitchen, enclosed large yard space to keep the little ones confined or the Fido's from wandering too far, large patio for summer time cocktail and bbq OR listening to Washingtons symphony (nature) while having your coffee. The bed upstairs is incredible and super comfortable. Once you hit that mattress it's lights out. And fast! Yes. That is how comfortable the bed is. The house is immaculate and cozy. It is such a perfect retreat to return to after spending your days exploring Sequim and/or Port Angeles outdoor activities. The shower is nice and powerful and the water heat last. The kitchen is fully stocked with some extras like bottled water, beers, coffee and extra condiments. Now! if you get invited to participate in the Bee Hiving experience. Do it! So worth it! And so fun! I'm slightly allergic to bees so I stayed far but watched from a safe enough space. Yet some how they still included me by bringing over honey combs and a male bee with no stinger! Fun fact you will have to learn by participating in this activity. If you get to participate in helping farm the lavender. Do it! How often are you on a farm?! If you are in Sequim it's probably because you love the outdoor activities and nature. The farm itself is also immaculate. Perfectly mowed. The lavender is perfectly trimmed. If you are lucky every morning the deers will run thru or walk thru the farm to nibble on the trees and surrounding bushes. It is too much beauty here! You will feel compelled to share it with everybody. Everything in and around is so breathtaking. This farm is just the beginning to your wonderful time exploring this area. Go and enjoy!

August 5, 2025 - Sequim…read more A lovely, very low-key lavender farm. They had a nice selection of lavender plants for sale, along with other plants like cacti. There wasn't much happening in the lavender fields during our visit, but we enjoyed browsing the gift shop. We picked up some chocolate lavender ice cream, lavender shortbread cookies, and a jar of lavender goat milk cream. It was quiet--we were the only customers on this Wednesday afternoon, a stark contrast to the next lavender farm we visited, which was much more crowded. Leashed dogs welcomed!

We didn't venture out to the farm, but still saw various kinds of lavender in pots near the store. There's a very small parking area, probably only 3-4 vehicles would fit. The farm is only open during the summer to the public. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is because of the prices in the store. They wanted $10 for an average size spice bottle that had lavender, black pepper, etc. The sales clerk seemed to be bored out of her mind, clicking pens over and over and heaving big sighs bent over the counter.

Lavender is one of my favorite fragrances, so I made it a point to stop at a farm on our way back to Seattle from Port Angeles. It was already late in the day and most of the farms closed at 5pm, which only gave us about 30 minutes to find a good one and actually take part in handpicking the lavender, not enough time. I checked a few different website of the local farms and The Olympic Lavender Heritage Farm was the best site, great marketing, great packaging...that made my decision to stop there super easy. To my excitement Google told me that the Olympic Lavender Heritage Farm was open until 6pm...Perfect! We drove off the highway for about 15 minutes until reaching the farm. Upon arrival it was questionable whether or not they were really open, one half of the double gate was open, the other was closed. We went ahead and drove into the farm and saw that a man was working in one of the shops, so we parked and went in to inquire if they were open. The really nice guy (Mr. Hermosilla/Owner) said that they were currently closed because of harvest, but that he was more than happy to open the shop for me. Because they had just harvested, the night before, there was still fresh cut lavender hanging in the shop that was used to dry the lavender, Mr. Hermosilla let me peek inside and even take a picture (added above). The smell was absolutely amazing... I could have stayed in there all day. Mr. Hermosilla opened up their boutique/retail shop so that I could browse around and pick all the goodies I wanted to buy. He was very very nice... asking where we were from, how we were enjoying our vacation, and such. He explained the products and the fact that they are certified organic. Even telling us some of the processes...from harvesting the lavender to the production of all the great products; lotions, body spray, scrubs, soap cubes; to even food items, honey, cooking spice, etc. We were even able to handpick lavender from one of the remaining plants out front. I purchased the vanilla lavender lotion, Love it; lavender spice for cooking; lavender honey; lavender satchels for the clothes dryer; travel lavender lotion; and (2) lavender bath salts! The price was very fair and reasonable.. I would have purchased more if I had traveled with more luggage. Before we left we met Mrs. Hermosilla and she really nice as well. They were courteous enough to open when closed and stayed open even when they were due at a farm meeting. It was a very pleasant experience! I will go again and I will recommend them to friends who travel to that area... I will also be ordering off their online store in the future. Thanks again Mr. and Mrs. Hermosilla for your generosity and excellent customer service.
