We had Jack as our instructor and he was a great teacher showing us at the beginning on the sand how the beach and tides works with rip currents, sandbars, and dangerous lightning storms. If you are in the slightest way considering taking a lesson book one. The surf shop also has a great selection of hats, shirts, swimsuits, and surf gear. The selection is great for both men and women and the prices are very reasonable. We purchased some merchandise and had a great time in our surfing lessons. This wonderful shop, located in the Corolla Historic Village, features gorgeous art, whimsical metal toys, brass telescopes and sextons, beautiful tin signs and fabulous furniture. On the first floor, you'll find a 1918 Ford Deluxe Surf Wagon! The second floor is an airy, dreamy room lined with bamboo - you'll want to stay for a cocktail at the bar made from a hot-air balloon basket! Everything is wonderful here but the prices are very steep - a few hundred to a few thousand for handcrafted artwork. The Surf Wagon is priced at $29,000. But even if that's out of your price range, it's still fun to browse - like touring an art museum of the great travels of yesteryear!
