While reading I saw that Metric in Chicago was on the list. And that was the sign this place had to be a must try! Came here on a Saturday morning. Kind of reminds me of the west bank of the flats area or temont type of area we have in Cleveland. The shop itself is not very big. However the coffee, is absolutely incredible. While there I met Cara . She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I mentioned that the reason for making the walk to this place was to see how it measured with award of top 100 shop. From there I got my espresso. Amazing. Just amazing! Cara also took the time explain the cupping process. And how Metric gets their beans. All in all, I enjoy this coffee and the employees more than the alternative around the bend from here, but it won't become my go-to stop for now. I didn't pay attention to the "roastery" portion of the name so I walked in expecting to buy a cup of coffee and use the wifi to work for a few hours. Everyone greeted me so kindly even though I had obviously NOT stumbled into a coffee shop, but a warehouse. Chris also made me a coffee in his office, answered all my questions about the different machines in the warehouse and told me multiple times to "make myself at home" until I could get into the wedding venue I was supposed to be at. Absolutely blown away by the customer service and so thankful to the team for turning a stressful few hours into a very pleasant afternoon!
