Stefan and his team recently finished a complete remodel of our home in Lake Arrowhead. He was a pleasure to work with from the moment we met him until the project was completed a year later. This home is 50+ years old and was in need of serious updating. We wanted to retain as much of the charm but update the kitchen, bathrooms, décor, plumbing, electrical, lighting and so on. Stefan completely remodeled three bathrooms, built a new kitchen with cabinets and gorgeous walnut floating shelves, installed hardwood floors and stairs, repaired the exterior siding, installed all new window trim inside and out, installed shiplap, reframed the A-frame wall (inside and out), deck repair, and painted the entire interior and exterior. In our experience, his craftsmanship and attention to detail are unmatched. During the renovation when certain issues were discovered with our older home, Stefan took care of them immediately. What could have turned into many stressful situations, Stefan simply managed and fixed them, while keeping in constant communication with us. He managed the whole remodel as it's not our full-time home. We called Stefan when we were interested in remodeling the bathroom and replacing kitchen counter tops in our mountain home. What started as a "simple" remodel in December 2019, turned into a 14-month whole house renovation! The wiring in our house was literally dangerous. Stefan identified the electrical problem and referred us to Chad, who was awesome. Dave is Stefan's go-to carpenter, and his work is meticulous. He is a true craftsman. Stefan has an excellent aesthetic and design sense. His guidance was key. Everyone cleaned up after themselves and were easy to talk to. Anthony did a beautiful job on all the tile work. We had a few hiccups with the plumber and were so glad to discover Ray's Plumbing. Those guys were quick and thorough! Stefan's team stuck by us through COVID craziness and *multiple* add-ons to the initial job. They were always responsive when we had questions. The timeline of the renovation was completely due to constant "discoveries" of issues in our 1930 house, quarantine cracking down and slow delivery of product. What I learned was the importance of a punch list, since we made a lot of changes along the way and supplies changed. We are thrilled with the outcome of Stefan's work on our house! I found Kiwican Home Services on Yelp several months back to see about fixing up our home in Lake Arrowhead. Stefan got back to me right away and from our first meeting it was so easy to trust him. He had an eye for detail, a high quality standard, and also a level of taste that was exactly what I was looking for. We worked with him to re-do the backsplash in our kitchen, re-trim the entire house, and give everything a fresh coat of paint (not an easy job with some extra high ceilings!). It honestly blows me away how the adjustments to these details have brought our home to a new level. You never realize the difference that nice trim will make until you see it in your own home! Not only was the handiwork absolutely gorgeous, Stefan made sure to guide us through every step of the process with superb communication and candid insight on the right choices to make for tile, trim, etc. If I ever had an idea or a question, all I had to do was text. I loved how easy that was! He worked with our erratic schedule to make sure we had the space to ourselves whenever we needed, but he was also sure to swing by and update us in person on his progress along the way. The experience of working together just couldn't have been better. Finally, I think the thing that really sets Kiwican apart from your run-of-the-mill contractor was Stefan's creativity. We had a peninsula in our kitchen that wasn't terrible but it wasn't anything special either. He presented the idea to wrap it in shiplap and trim it out to make the bar feel more impactful. He gutted my bathroom, tiled the shower, floors, ran ductwork, and created wood valances for my windows.
