We've been here a couple of times. It's not a bad place to stay. Some of the units are newer than…read moreothers and have better access to amenities, so do pay close attention to where they are putting you if you book a stay here. This place is near Sugar Loaf Mountain. If you have the stamina and the time. It's absolutely worth the climb. The views are amazing up there. I am glad that I took the time to hike it with my kids the first time we were here. I had mobility issues during my last visit. There was some confusion when we checked in as they said there were only a "few steps" to manage to get to our room. It was on the second floor with a full flight of stairs to ascend to get to the room. This wasn't happening and we were checking in pretty late to begin with so I was a bit worried. They did end up getting us something on the ground floor, so that was nice of them. We did end up in the units way far away from the pool and shops. Side note: If you have ever had the unpleasantries of not being able to walk, I do not recommend, not 10/10, not even 1/10... it sucks. I am sorry if you are dealing with that at all. Anyway. Back on track. Rooms are fairly large that we have had and kind of feel like an apartment more than hotels. Beds are comfy, they are clean, and it's pretty quiet around. Some of the appliances had to have been bought before this place was even built as there are numerous versions of straight up analog shit all up in the rooms. It's like a travel back in time. They have some nice pools and decent poolside bars and food places. The wings we had there were quite good, but that's another review. There are lots of things to do nearby and a few restaurants in the area that are pretty good. One place we ate was outstanding. The best carrot cake I have ever had. I think it starts with a J. Busy place! Heck. We may be back. It's close to home and not too expensive for a short trip here. '26 - 43

We are about to complete a week stay at Hamilton Cove which is part of Wyndham Resort at Fairfield…read moreBay. The week started with a great drive from Houston. GPS worked great at got us right to the registration building. Registration went very smooth with Nyx checking us in. We were in Condo 5 in Hamilton Cove. The outdoor pool was within walking distance and was enjoyed by my daughter's family. My wife and I took advantage of Tuesday Bingo at the local community center. Everyone was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The condo kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to prepare meals for my family. Suggestion please sharpen the prep knives in the wood block. I was grateful I brought my own, a larger skillet and pot. All appliance worked perfectly. There were 4 adults and 3 kids. The condo accommodated is very well. My daughter had a Tesla and there was a local charging station within 4 miles of our condo. We took advantage of mini golf, bowling, hiking, grocery shopping at Harps, and Dollar General. All were located closely to our area. We drove down to the Fairfield Marina but did not take advantage of any of the activities. I left my golf clubs at home, but there was an 18 hole golf course nearby. My daughter and her kids visited the local cave.

There wasn't a lot of accurate signage or available/informative service, so here are the helpful things I wish I knew: 1. When booking on their website, the email that says "reservation confirmation pending" and directs you to call or email to "finalize confirmation" is not necessary - we tried both without answer before showing up to find we were in their system. They told us they consider it fully confirmed as soon as you pay online. 2. The front desk counter and the ice cream shop share staff, so if you walk into the check-in desk and no one shows up to take care of you, walk back to where the chairs and tables are to ask for help or try to call the number. 3. The information packets in the room showing the pool is 24 hours are inaccurate. We learned the hard way on our first night and asked the next day what the actual hours are - they said "around 8am to around 10:30 unless later is requested." One of our guests was booted around 9:50 and our request for group entry at 10pm was denied. 4. They unlock the main door at 7am for breakfast. This consists of cereal, granola bars, yogurt, and mini microwave sausage sandwiches. 5. The cafe on site does not offer hot food until 3pm and can get quickly overwhelmed with multiple cold sandwich orders, so it might be better to plan for food off site. 6. Checking out in person is not required. We had to leave early our last morning for a funeral and the desk was unmanned at 8am, but we were able to get someone to answer the phone before 11am to verify we were "checked out". Overall it seemed like a nice place, but many of the amenities seem to be aimed at/offered to the peak season vacation crowd, and only during pretty ambiguous hours. We found out too late that the large hotel down the road may have been a better fit for our crew who was in town for a family funeral - they also offer a bereavement discount that this place does not.

The gal at the desk in the office didn't seem to be very knowledgeable. She told us the guide would not provide water. The refrigerator didn't have any water either. She said that they didn't get a water delivery. What? So if bottled water was not delivered, drive to the damn Walmart and buy a flat or two. Right?? Thank goodness the guide did, indeed, provide us with bottled water. The guide definitely made up for the negative experience with the office staff.

The funny thing was, there were no boats out of the dock and no one fishing off the dock. Our guide was nice and told me that he and other employees live on the grounds, but the owners live an hour or more away. It shows. We were turned away at the restaurant and told we needed to make reservations one to two weeks ahead. There were only four people in the restaurant. Employees hang out smoking all the time at its back door by cabins. The dock needs repairs. Some on the fishing dock are dangerous. Overall, I love being at Lindsey's because of the picturesque surroundings, but the management is very poor.
