Our guide, Sam, was wonderful. He has lived in the area most of his life. He told some amazing stories! He knew all the good spots and we caught lots of nice sized trout. The gal at the desk in the office didn't seem to be very knowledgeable. She told us the guide would not provide water. The refrigerator didn't have any water either. She said that they didn't get a water delivery. What? So if bottled water was not delivered, drive to the damn Walmart and buy a flat or two. Right?? The setting is beautiful. Only on stove burner worked. Our fireplace didn't work. When we reserved the rooms, they told us that we could rent fishing poles, but when we got there, they said all the poles had been rented, but we could buy one. The funny thing was, there were no boats out of the dock and no one fishing off the dock. Our guide was nice and told me that he and other employees live on the grounds, but the owners live an hour or more away. It shows. We were turned away at the restaurant and told we needed to make reservations one to two weeks ahead. There were only four people in the restaurant. Employees hang out smoking all the time at its back door by cabins. The dock needs repairs. Some on the fishing dock are dangerous. Overall, I love being at Lindsey's because of the picturesque surroundings, but the management is very poor. read more

Inside of cabin was clean and spacious, but the deck was filthy, filled with spider webs and debris. My husband spent an hour cleaning it up before we could even sit outside and enjoy the view. The dock in front of our cabin was dangerous to walk on and falling apart. As soon as we arrived the front desk folks told us there were no boats available, but the dock was full of boats, also the pool was covered and unusable the two days we were there. Restaurant was also closed. Cabin was nice but not being able to use their amenities was a great bummer. Summer heat, can't swim and can't get onto the river. read more

Review on Pot O'Gold Restaurant: This is our go to restaurant in Heber Springs. If you have never been here, it is a must. You don't have to be staying at Lindsey's to eat here, and many locals frequent this restaurant regularly. They make you feel like you are family and it is a very comfortable and enjoyable setting. Customers are usually always smiling, happy and just enjoying themselves with their friends or family. It is just a must that you call and secure a reservation. The food is amazing and the staff is so attentive and kind and the restaurant provides a beautiful view of the river. Mallory is the kindest and sweetest waitress and she checks on you often making sure everything is perfect. They also have a cute little gift shop with a picture behind the cash register showing "Rip" Collins holding the 40 pound and 4 ounce World Record German Brown Trout he caught on the Little Red River in 1992! They are best known for their 18 oz charbroiled ribeye, which is our favorite. No one makes a ribeye like Lindsey's and once you enjoy it, it will be difficult for you to order one anywhere else. They also have an amazing menu and chef inspired specials. Their desserts are over the top. Our favorite is the caramel pecan bread pudding, but they also have specialty cakes like carrot and red velvet and extraordinary cheesecakes. They will even cook your fresh catch either fried, sautéed or blackened served with hush puppies, slaw and fries. If you are visiting Heber Springs, this will be your favorite restaurant. Lindsey's Resort is not far after you cross the Greers Ferry Dam. You just have to navigate the winding road to get there, once you turn right off Hwy 25 onto Rainbow Road, which takes you to the resort on the Little Red River. If you want to stay at Lindsey's, book your reservation early as they fill up. It is a trout angler's dream. We are so thankful for the Lindsey family. read more

It's a beautiful place to be. I love the place. It's amazing! But I have one complaint, the WiFi is not as great as you would think. I tried looking up random stuff on google and it took forever for it to download. Overall, it's awesome and I would recommend being here for a very long time. I am here with my family. We haven't been able to go anywhere in months. But we are finally here! I love this place so much! But the if WiFi could be just a bit better, I will give a five star review. read more

Supposed "half day" fishing trip was a "quarter day" trip. Guide Jay (ask for anyone else) was half an hour late and called it quits an hour and a half early because they started letting water out of the dam. That seems to be a good time to fish per others. The other half-day trip, which left on time, was still out fishing thirty minutes after Jay called it quits. Regardless of the reason for the early shutdown, there is a schedule of when water is released so it was no surprise. A half honest guide and reputable business would inform you if it was going to arbitrarily cut your trip short. No explanation and Jay was nowhere around when we were called to pick up the fisherman an hour early. The young people he guided (who fish well, are old enough to appreciate good vs undesirable behavior, and have been on plenty of guided trips) found him off putting and felt like they were imposing on him to take them fishing. Look for an outfitter focused on customer service and fun (no apology by proprietor or explanation for the cut short trip) or at least make sure you don't get paired with Jay. The setup looks like it has the potential to be nice and the other group's guide was the nicest person we encountered. I think Jay is lazy and took advantage of the clients being teenagers who wouldn't object to an adult's decision under the circumstances, then split. Since the resort didn't seem concerned or explain, they get one star. Run away from Jay who would get negative stars if that were an option. read more

My husband and I ate at the restaurant on a Friday night. We had the ribeye, it is 18oz and chargrilled. It was amazingly delicious and entirely too much food for 1 person, we probably could have shared one. The steak comes with a salad, a side and a roll, which I have to say all the food was great. We also had the beer battered onion rings for an appetizer and they were delicious, others have given them bad reviews but in my experience they were great. Another plus side is that this is one of the few places that serves beer and wine. This was our second time coming to stay at the resort, I really have no complaints. The cabins that we have stayed in have been very nice and clean. Great location right beside the river with beautiful scenery! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Both times that we have came we have decided to stay an extra night and there was never any issue with adding on to our stay. read more

Where to start, Cleanliness! Let's start there. The level of cleanliness particularly in that environment, was amazing. Hospitality, food and beds were all exceptional as well! Lindsey's Resort is Heber Springs, Arkansas's, best-kept secret. The pictures are awesome but seeing it in person is unbelievable. It sets back in the beautiful wooded area close to Greers Ferry Damn. I have not yet experienced the lodging or fishing, but hope to in the near future. I can testify with 110% accuracy that their food is delicious, their service is what every customer expects and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend visiting them and stay a few days and try your luck at catching some of the nicest Rainbow Trout in the area. read more

The resort itself was clean, modern, and updated. We stayed in the family cabin which consisted of 2 bedrooms and 4 queen beds. The bedrooms were over half the space of the entire cabin. We took a guided fishing trip for half a day (7:30-11:30) on a party barge. There were 2 adults and 3 kids (under 16). The guide did not speak except to introduce himself first thing and to correct how we fished. He seemed knowledgeable about the river but NO FUN or personality. We didn't catch hardly any fish... which is not for him to blame, I guess?! This guided trip cost is $440!!!! WAY over priced for the service we received!! Went with a group on a day retreat. First of all, the place is beautiful. We didn't look inside the cabins but the fishing and boat dock is very well maintained and clean. Some of us brought fishing gear and there was someone there to help those of us not experienced enough rig our lines. We spent a lovely morning fishing and taking a party barge up the river to the Greers Ferry Dam before lunch at the resort restaurant. The food at the restaurant was very good. Some of us had the fried catfish, others the grilled chicken and fully dressed burger. All entrees were very well cooked and tasty! 9-10-16 birthday dinner. Went with family. 2 had catfish, large portions and good flavor. One had hamburger, it was large and cheese was perfectly melted and flavor was good. We are from out of town and chose this place based on the reviews. Having a decent knowledge about food, we ordered the catfish, ribeye and onion rings. The onion rings are not hand battered (frozen foodservice), although they have a good flavor. The catfish is American and very good. It was only served with one side and we chose to order a salad, there were no beans or coleslaw offered. The catfish came out on a plate with a few hush puppies and nothing else. $12.99 for 2 pieces of fish, a small side salad and hush puppies. Very disappointing. Ribeye was select grade or lower. $27.99 for an 18oz steak when they're paying roughly $6.00 per Lb is a very high markup for a select piece of meat. Location was great. We were in a two bedroom with a "loft". Nothing in the loft, ladder wasn't even down for use. We were lead to believe by website there was a bed up there. Bathroom was too small with a tiny shower. Using the bathroom your feet are in the shower. Hot water ran out after first shower and there were four of us. We wanted to rent a boat. They only had them available after 1:00 and we had two adults and two small children. They would only allow three in a boat so we had to rent two boats. We asked why there wasn't enough boats to accommodate the guest and were told they only had six boats for rental in the entire resort. They did knock off some money on the boats because it was after 1:30 before we could get the boats. The resort was dog friendly, which is fine, but we had several large dogs outside our cabin in the campers that barked A LOT! Dog Owners were not concerned about disturbing other guest. The restaurant on the resort was amazing and our waitress was fabulous. Only complaint there was reservations only and we weren't aware of that when arriving on Friday night and had to go find food somewhere else. read more

We held a corporate event here with 24 people. Staff were great all the way through. Accommodations and conference facilities were perfect for a relaxing trip. The restaurant wasn't open during the week, but they opened it for our party for 3 meals a day and the food was excellent. The blackened trout was the best trout I've ever eaten. Fishing was just ok when we went, but guides were entertaining enough to make up for it. I would definitely recommend. read more

We were satisfied. Third trip was onion rings, small catfish and ribeye. Ribeye was shared. It was cooked medium rare to perfection. However, it contained a large gristle. Still was sufficient to feed two. Good service first two trips. Third trip was another story. Different waiter. Seemed new to waiting tables. Totally unorganized and unable to prioritize. Forgot my iced tea. The lady asked for a fork when the steak was served. We waited. We waited. Waiter took orders for another table. We waited. He disappeared into kitchen. We waited. He brought salads to others. We waited. Finally I got up and retrieved the tableware myself. A second glass of wine was ordered. Finally arrived as we were finishing meal.
