They have a pretty good selection of Wild West frontier-era wear that is suitable for reenactors. They have adorable home decor items. They have plenty of help in the store, so when you find the boots you like but can't find your size, ask one of them to find it, which will be accomplished in a flash. Terrible Online Experience, Purchased a pair of men's wranglers and they fell apart after first wash right out of the plastic clear bag they came in. Might have been ("KNOCK OFFS) as we have been buying them for years.( First time buying from this outfit) Returned them and they would not refund the cost of shipping? Why would we have to pay for sending us a defective pair of jeans? Called and they were rude and condescending , well so much for buying from a USA family business as we were trying to support business in the USA! Holy boots! This is the absolute biggest selection of boots I've ever seen. Not only do they have cowboy boots, but the selection of work boots is amazing as well. The prices are wide ranged, but the work boots do have a great price on them. If you are looking for gear for a country concert or line-dancing, this is a great spot for that as well. The outdoor wear section is great too. Super cool store that I never knew existed until now! The variety of mounted animals was out of this world as well. read more

Kleinschimts had a very good selection of boots, but the organization of the boots was something lacking. I did find the pair I have been looking for so I wasn't upset, but it was hard to look for size/brand. I also didn't care for the normal priced boots but the most outrageous priced clothes. I've never seen such high price tags for clothing. Overall, I would stop again for boots, but not so much clothing. read more

I ordered 4 jackets and a poncho from Kleinschmidts, it took a long time to arrive because they ship USPS and the packages got lost until I was forced to file an official complaint with the USPS. 5 days later than it said the two packages actually arrived I, the customer, had to do the work on finally getting these items delivered. Also, I just found out that Kleinschmidts does not provide return shipping labels like every other western wear place on the planet (trust me I know because I shop almost exclusively online these days) so it will cost me roughly $50 bucks to send the items back I don't want to keep. That is outrageous this day and age so I will not be doing any future business with Kleinschmidts for these reasons alone. I can get the exact same western wear merchandise from other western wear outlets without the hassle or the cost. Expensive lesson learned. read more

Greatest selection of boots ANYWHERE! And trophy animals are fascinating... especially the giraffe.

This place has a great selection of products and aren't terribly overpriced. That is about the extent of positives. The service is annoying, they will just look at you standing at the counter and not help. If the cashier isn't standing there, no one else will come ring you up. You can't try on the belts with the anti theft devices on them, so when you buy it and then put it on, if it's too big they also won't exchange it. Bought the belt, went outside to put it on, didn't fit, walked right back in to get a size smaller, they said they couldn't do it. read more

Do not buy boots here. They do not warranty their boots or any of their cloths. I bought a pair of work Ariat ropers. I have been wearing boots for 20 years and I have never had a pair of boots that after I wear the for 3 days the give me blisters on the inside of my heal. The pain was horrible. I asked then what their warranty was and they said it was 6 months but only of the sole comes off due to stitching. They do not give refunds or store credit for selling boots that are just plain cheaply made and cause pain. No discount on another pair. Just excuses and telling me it's my fault for buying them. Not that it's their fault for selling a faulty product. Don't buy anything here. This store does not sell quality products. read more

RIDICULOUS! If you are looking for western boots, work boots, a new hat, belt or anything else "western" then you've come to the right place! Stopped in on our way through town via KC to Jefferson City. This is about the half way mark minus 30 minutes or so. Our daughter is a horse loving nut so we stopped in to see if we could find anything. The selection of thousands of boots on full display is a little overwhelming, but in a good way. It's just fun to take a peek at everything here. Even if you don't wear Wranglers (I certainly don't) but want to mosey on in to look, I suggest you do! It's a lot of fun just to see what's inside. Picked up some Aussie friends at KCI and decided to stop at Kleinschmidt's on our way home. We had so much fun! The boot selection is pretty amazing. Not a lot in women's larger sizes, but if you have an average size foot boy howdy will you find some boots. The clothes and hat selections were awesome. I think we spent about 2 hours and just had a blast checking out the taxidermied animals and all of the great stuff for sale. The staff are super friendly and helpful. And I love the smell of authentic leather so I was just enjoying the smell the whole time. We definitely left with memorable purchases and will stop in again. read more

I went in last Monday and spent about 2.5 hours picked out two pairs of Lane boots both 8.5 and some clothes for an upcoming birthday/work trip to Arizona. I was told there can be a two week hold and I had planned on coming back that Thursday to pay for part of it but just made if in today. I was super excited about the American Flag Lane boots that fit me perfect the week before but when I got there and looked at my hold the boots were a 9.5 now next the the other 8.5 brown boots by Lane . It's my opinion that the 8.5 American Flag boots were switched out for a boot sale to the time of 329.00 and the oversized where our in mine. I had 1000 dollars worth of stuff on hold so I put back most of it bought the brown boots and I personally feel that's bulls$&@ those American Flags can't be ordered anymore so what do you all think??? read more

We pass by this store many times a year. This time we decided to stop & see if it was really as good as everyone says. They are a large store with a big selection of items. But I was really impressed with the customer service!!!!! It doesn't matter if you are there to buy a $10 item or to spend thousands on a new wardrobe, they treat everyone like family. As far as the boots go, I was a little turned off by the fact that they have most of them out. But that ended up being genius!!!! The store is great, no complaints but If you're going to have an online presence and allow customers to send emails regarding questions on merchandise and promotions, you should take time to respond. I emailed on 11/22 regarding a $200 vintage collection dress but never got any response. I hate to not buy locally ( I'm in Missouri too) but I ended up buying the same dress at a store out of Texas. I would have bought the same dress from here but it's pretty aggravating that i never got any response. Just had a bad experience here. My daughter bought a pair of boots two days ago and decided she didn't like them. Went to exchange them and get told they are too worn and have been worn in gravel. They were only worn when she tried them on in the store. Plus the lady was very snobby to my daughter and me. I always spoke highly of this place but not any more. We had SO much fun at this place! Our visit to Missouri from our home in Calif. was in early August, 2011, during the mind-blowing heatwave, triple digits. We were 'typical tourists,' trying on hats, Western outerwear, belts and boots, and taking pictures. Very fun. Yes, we all bought something (including we parents, our 2 teen boys, and 19-yr old friend). I am wearing my gorgeous Corral brand snakeskin boots paired with a denim skirt, here at my workplace, as I write this review. The sheer quantity and variety of cowboy and cowgirl boots is astounding, nicely laid out by size, row after row. Besides the merchandise, feast your eyes on the taxidermy collection all over the store. My boys certainly were amazed by the polar bear and other animals. We were passing through Missouri on our way to Ohio when we stopped at this location to stretch our legs. Having been to a few boot locations in Colorado, I thought this store would be the same - but it wasn't. A huge selection of wide ladies boots (which is very hard to find) and helpful service. In 2014, I went to Kleinschmidt's Western Store, Inc., off I-70 Exit 49, Higginsville, Missouri, purchased a pair of boots, and ordered two additional pair, one 2655, and the other a 2282 steel toe western. They arrived, and I went after them. Back home, I discovered the 2655 13-B were factory seconds, with white paint on the sole(s), and inferior Upper Leather. Have not had time to take them back, and ask Kleinschmidt's for a quality replacement. I would say, watch what they are offering to sell, and make sure you are getting what you pay for; not a factory second. GREAT selection, and the staff is awesome. Women's section has tons of variety and the prices are fair compared to other western stores. Boots? OMG, if you can't find a pair here that fits you're not actually looking to buy, simple as that. They will stretch them for you for free if you have high arches. Wow. Great selection and SERVICE to boot. (Great pun.) My daughter and I stopped by on a cross country road trip to get her back to school. So glad we stopped. We bought 3 pair of Luchesse boots and I even found some great sandals. I had my purchases shipped to my house and we took my daughter's boots in the car. They managed to figure out how to charge the appropriate amount of tax and shipping. When I came home not only were my boots waiting for me, they included a nice thank you not. A really nice note.
