So a 1-day job that started on July 20th didn't get done until August 1st because they kept saying the crew was coming on a certain date/time but nobody would show up, so I'd contact the office again and they'd say the crew was coming but nobody would show up, and when the crew did finally get back here they had been told that we had removed a bush that was in the exact spot they needed to put a drain BUT NOBODY HAD MENTIONED REMOVING A BUSH TO US! And, once again, the crew couldn't get in contact with the supervisor! When he did finally talk to a supervisor they asked him if we wanted to have the drain set up in a different way that would mean the job got done that same day BUT their warranty would be invalid!! UM NO are you serious?! Absolutely asinine way to do business, I am shocked that they still get customers at all! So yeah, nobody from the office had called after the first appointment went awry to explain the situation and what they would be doing to fix it, nobody called when we had complained of the lack of communication to explain what was going on, but you can be SURE they billed me immediately after the job was finally done! No delays or waiting around to hear from their billing department haha. We will take our business elsewhere next time we need work like this done, for sure.

A low pump, a higher pump if that first pump fails or cant keep up. And then a higher battery backup pump. I feel great knowing that my basement will stay dry no matter what. Shane did a great job today and even called to see if he could come a few minutes early. Its money spent but insurance that my basement stays perfectly healthy.

Mike Smith of the company inspected the issue proposed a fix that included a drainage system and sump pump. He also assured me that they could take care what ever issue they may find down there. When the three man crew arrived and introduced themselves and the supervisor outlined what they would be doing and when they expected to complete the job. The supervisor, Efrain, and Salvador and Eddie gave me confidence I was in great hands. Now this is something you hardly ever hear anyone say anymore; but I have never seen three men work so hard and professionally as those three did. Efrain kept me totally abreast of the progress with before and after videos. I know I have restricted myself in the past to restaurant reviews as my wife and I are foodies. I rarely give five star reviews because I rarely have good experiences with service workers - let alone great experiences. However, JB Foundations earned all 5 stars. And honestly, it's not that hard - just very few companies will do the basic things that make customers happy. It started recently with a couple days of hard rain. We live in an elevated area where our driveway slopes up and our house and foundation is higher than the street. As a result, we have never had any issues with water in the basement and rarely give it a thought. The only problem we had was the pipe leading up and out of the basement had a loose connection and I was able to tightened it up. But with this most recent rain, the sump pump started acting differently. It was still seemingly working but making an incredible noise. I had just had new flooring put in on the first floor (I'll be writing that review next) and noise carries much more within the house. At first I chalked the louder sump pump up to that. But the more I had to listen to it while working from home, I realized something was wrong. The second day, I started putting feelers out. Messaging 3 companies on their websites asking if they did this work on sump pumps and in our area. NONE RESPONDED. I hate using the phone so electronic communication is my preference. THe next morning, the pump was quieter but ran non-stop for hours - despite there not being hardly any water in the tank and it also had not really rained for a while. This time I turned to Yelp (which is where I got the names and reviews of the 3 companies I reached out to via their websites). I picked one and sent a message just like I did before. I also took the option to ask a couple more companies to respond. Almost immediately, JB Foundations responded and expressed ability and interest in doing the work. We exchanged messages via Yelp and soon I had an appointment, as well as an estimate should the pump need replacing. The appointment window was only 2 hours and they were able to come the next day. Considering we had yet to take any water in the basement, I was feeling very lucky (which is rare). Jay showed up during the 2 hour window and went to work. He showed me how the pump can be tested by bypassing the floater. The pump was still working and apparently able to push water to the street. Regardless, given the 26 years it had been working - I opted to have it replaced. Jay had a new pump with him and installed it in maybe 15 minutes. He asked for a garbage bag to carry the old pump out in as it was crusted in rust and mud. He had also pulled out a few other misc. items (paper, soda can, rocks) from the hole and transported it all way without messing up the floor. Jay educated me about the back-flow valve/connector - which was apparently what had come apart before. He had replaced it at no extra charge. I always appreciate a service person taking the time to explain things to me so I better understand how the things in our house work. Jay did so without making me feel spoken down to or stupid. I don't know what else I can share if you're not convinced yet to include this company in your search when needing any work done in your basement/foundation. I highly recommend giving them a shot.

They arrived the originally scheduled day and although there was a delay due to some pretty extreme weather causing traffic idiocy, I was notified about that delay. The work was done in November. Now I am dealing with a huge mess in the yard and spending more money to get that fixed and on top of that, I see where they cracked the foundation/footer on the outside. Working with them was a mess. There does not seem to be a central person to answer questions. The garage never really got leveled but at least it's not supposed to sink anymore and is stable. It's supposed to be guaranteed but who knows? Don't be fooled by the ads. They make everything look nice in the ads but I still have a giant crack that's now filled with foam. I mean, it's a detached garage, but still...Do some looking around and NEVER let anyone high pressure you. Lesson learned.
