I've been going to this salon for over a year now, and my hair has never looked better. I've had color, highlights, and cuts here, and I consistently get compliments on my hair. My stylist (Maggie) also educates me on products that are good for my hair, and what I should avoid, to keep my hair healthy. This place is pretty horrible now. Hasn't been good since 2018. I've been going every year since I was in elementary school, I'm in college now. It has really gone down hill. I was doing a three strikes your out things and I only get a haircut once a year. They f up three years in a row. First f up my bangs, bad. Second cut it too short, I wanted a specific part of my hair longer so I didn't want it cut and they cut it. Third, they basically did do a cut, again I wanted something specific and not hard. I had to fix it majorly at home. Like they basically missed my whole head. Also for women a cut (nothing else) is $50. Also I didn't tip and I got glared at for it. They're not friendly either, especially the owner. Absolutely horrible place now. read more

Their new prices are outrageous. I'm not paying Newbury Street prices for Townsend expertise. Be careful - ask what the price will be prior to the service. Further, they always try to upsell. I have never come away satisfied - just can't dry my hair no matter how many times you tell them. read more

I had Kali do my hair and let me just say she gets it perfect every time! I got a heavy foil and a trim and it came out exactly how I wanted it to! If you want to get your hair done right I suggests going to kali, she pays attention to the details so you will never leave unhappy. read more

I really did not want to do this, I tried to speak with the salon owner several times and was told over and over that I can not assume my pain and swelling is due to anything they did. I went to the salon just fine and walked out looking like this. I do not use retinol on my face, I don't use anything other than basic Clinique skincare and have been having my eyebrows waxed for 20 years and never had anything remotely close to this happen. I went to the doctor today, she was shocked at the amount of skin that was ripped off my face and is certain that the damage to my face was directly caused from the waxing. The owner of the salon telling me I can not assume this was something they did is both insulting and tremendously disappointing. I felt like the owner of the salon was trying to blame me in some way for what happened. I am in pain and I've had to miss work to deal with this. Again, the lack of accountability and the dismissal of my pain and suffering is just so beyond disappointing. read more

I've had three appointments with Jacquie in the past few months (haircut, trim + partial foil then trim + full foil) and she has been amazing every time. Best salon I've been to in a while. The atmosphere is so peaceful and every stylist so talented. I spent hours getting my hair done ( I should say fixed due to my trying to do myself during covid lockdown) Britta did an amazing job! I left feeling so confident and pampered. I'm updating this to a 2 for right now because I went to a new place and asked for a cut that is a little shorter in the back but longer in the front, and got short in the back and shorter in the front. I came back to Klever Klippers after growing my hair out again to get the right haircut. I specified several times I wanted it longer in the front and that the last place didn't do this right. To my surprise my hair is shorter, not by a lot but definitely not longer in the front. I'm not sure what to do at this point but I will probably try going back one more time as I've really loved this place over the years. read more

Took my grandmother here for years and they always took such great care of her. She has Alzheimer's and they were so understanding and did a great job at making her comfortable. She always left with a smile and felt so beautiful!! We went to different hair dressers over the 3 years we were going and each one did a great job. I also suggested my boyfriend stop in for a hair cut one day when I was at the nail salon down the street while he waited for me and he was happy with the results but said it would be cheaper at a barber. I have also gotten my hair done here a few times when my regular hairdresser was booked and I was feeling spontaneous and each time was with someone that was relatively new and I loved the outcome each time. The prices do not match the experience. This past Saturday I had an 11:30 appt for a pedicure. When I got to the salon I was told they were running a little behind and they would be with me soon. I haven't had a pedicure in years and didn't have anywhere to be for a little bit so I didn't mind waiting. It wasn't until 12 that they were finally able to take me. There was no polishes on display to choose from, instead the woman asked me what color I would like and started to take shades out of a bin. I got a color I liked, but would have preferred to see them all on display to choose from especially since I had to wait a half hour for my appt. When we went into the back I could tell that pedicures are not their priority. The pedi chair is not hooked up to a water so I put my feet in what looked like a disposable roasting pan filled with water. The small room looked like it was half used for storage and an after thought with decor compared to the rest of the salon. There was no set up for the pedicure station so the woman who took care of me had to come and go a couple of times to get everything she needed. My actual pedicure experience wasn't bad. It was pretty typical from what you'd expect at any salon. Once she was done, she said to just hang out and let my toe nails dry and she would be back in a few minutes to help me in my sandals. 15 minutes later she did not come back so I left on my own. When I came out of the back room, she was in the middle of a hair cut which told me she didn't actually intend to come back. I paid $55 plus tip for this experience which I could have got for much cheaper at a "lower end" nail salon. If you are looking to treat yourself, this is not the place to do it. The people here were all very friendly and polite, but they charge way more than what you get from it. read more

NICE PLACE, VERY FRIENDLY PEOPLE, but PRICING is NOT CONSISTENT.... This place is in a great part of town right in Townsend Harbor. The shop is neatly decorated. The women clientele all seem to all love this place. It is modern, clean, and fun. Never a wait with an appointment. I don't have much hair these days so I need something quick. Debbie the stylist does a great job. She is very sincere and friendly too. Does a thorough job. The big problem that I have with this place is that every time I go here the price is different. The first time it was $22 (and I was horrified as I used to pay $14 in Dracut.. I was a long time customer and I think the going rate was $18). Then it bounced all around in the 20s. In July it was $26 and today it was $30. Will it be $35 next time I go. My whole time on the chair is about 10-15 minutes (from a balding man). I'm no thrills either... no gel, no hair wash (wash it before hand), etc. Do they charge you based on when your last appointment was? by the time on the chair? or the time of the year? Rates should be posted either in the store or in a book or on their web page. Thinking of finding a new hair home especially where i may be traveling more and will need constant trims... read more

Friendly Staff, Talented Stylists. Personally I hate going to salons, and would avoid hair cuts as much as possible because of it. But the team at Klever Klippers makes me comfortable (can we say greeted with a glass of wine?) and I always leave looking great, and feeling relaxed. I get many compliments on my cut, and it's so easy to work with. Chris spent the time to get to know me and what my normal routine would be and gave me a cut that works for my hair texture, my features and my level of fussing (which is quite low). I've been so happy with the hair styling that I also scheduled my first ever Pedicure, and now I'm hooked! Great way to relax and feel pampered. read more

Never go back again!! New to the area and thought I would try them. First time of course I go the New Girl on the block. Too young and inexperienced for someone my age (40s). Next time I called and asked for someone experienced with blonde color and AGAIN was given the new girl. Not happy! This salon only wants their current customers and anyone new has to take their chances with the recent beauty school grad. Word of advise - give her to the young girls that come in - I am sure she will be fine. But when an adult wants their hair done they do not want it done by a 20-something! I went back because I liked the decor and location of the salon. I will never go back! I got the impression that they do not want any new customers.... and with they way I was treated I don't think they will. read more

They take appointments but are always at least a half hour behind! This is very discourteous to long time customers and is the reason my family goes elsewhere now. There are many salons that honor their times and charge less. read more

I've been going to Klever Klippers for about 10 years now. Britta does an amazing job on my color and cut. I have extremely short hair and as a woman it can be hard to find someone to cut it short but still feminine. I make my appointments for a year at a time and that has worked out amazing. Although this isn't required it makes it much easier to get an appointment every 4 weeks. read more

I have been going to Klever Klippers for many many years. Every time I have a color or a cut I get so many compliments on my hair. Even guys who hardly ever notice anything new about my appearance compliment my hair. I always have Chris do my hair and am never disappointed.
