Last night I went to make sure there was no paper work for me to fill out, but when I entered my portal (linked in my appointment confirmation email) it said no appointments. I emailed to make sure my accounts were synced, but then received a call the following day telling me my appointment had been cancelled because they won't have a hygienist. I do wonder if they would have told me without me asking-- my guess is no considering my partner had an appointment the same day and didn't know his was cancelled until I told him mine was. I then asked if I could come in the day before or the week after, and was told they're scheduling into April. Even though THEY cancelled my appointment. Needless to say I will be going elsewhere.

Prior to becoming a patient of Dr. Heller's I thought I was going to have to live with jaw pain for the rest of my life. Not only is he so incredibly kind and patient, but you can tell that he also truly cares about his patients. He always takes the time at the beginning and end of each appointment to check in, and he listens so intently with a genuine willingness to help solve any issues that come up. And he said that I needed to have tons of dental work done for my own good even though they were not giving me any problem. He touched every corner of my teeth. He removed all the previously treated filling and replaced it with new fillings. The teeth felt sharp and it hurt for a long time after the procedure. He wanted to sell me very expensive mouth guard. Cash money of almost $800. After some appointment mishaps, he was very angry with me. Said a lot of inappropriate and personal things to me while he had his sharp dental instruments in his hand and me in the chair, "are you gonna buy the dental guard now or your gonna continue to procrastinate?" Don't go to this guy. He will fix what's not broken to take your money. And he will turn on you when he realize you are not the best cash cow in his spa like decor all so nice dental office.

I had been seeing him for years and respected him very much. I recommended him to many people. About 1.5 years ago, I had a surprisingly negative experience. I was spoken to unprofessionally, my boundaries were crossed and I felt very disrespected-by his demeanor and tone. His opinion about my tooth which was said aggressively turned out to be incorrect. I had to go to another dentist and then have rework done in an old root canal to get it fixed. I don't understand why this happened other than he was having a bad day. I hope he doesn't do that to anyone else.

I actually had a few cavities as well and his team were willing to schedule me to take care of those very quickly (~1.5weeks). Especially as a person of color and new resident of Providence, I worried my needs wouldn't be taken into consideration, but I felt comfortable under his care and would recommend him to anyone in Providence or any student at Brown.

I was referred here by my regular dentist and met with Dr. Georgeu…read more He did a complete inspection of my teeth and gums, reviewed my x rays and made his recommendation that I have a deep cleaning done. I have to admit that I was pretty nervous.... The ladies in the office gave me all of the information on what my insurance would cover and what I would have to pay out of pocket to get the work done. I ended up being able to book my first appointment within a few days of my initial consultation. This deep cleaning requires local Novocain gel followed by actual shots to keep you numb while they scrape away any tarter / particles / etc. below the gum line. My hygienist (Lori or Laurie?) was super nice, very great at explaining what she would be doing and stopping immediately if I did feel uncomfortable....which luckily only happened once or twice in my three visits! (Approx. 4 hours overall) She definitely put me at ease throughout this entire process and I would highly recommend booking with her for this procedure. I ended up doing three appointments (they do the mouth in 4 sections) and was able to get it all done fairly quickly. I have found the staff to be super nice and very easy to deal with (even when I messed up and showed up on the wrong day! Oops! ) I was told that this procedure really isn't as bad as it sounds and did actually find that to be true! I still need to go for my follow up with the doctor but have alrfound this office to be a great periodontist resource and will gladly return if I need this type of work performed again. Update from follow up Dec. 2017 - everything has gone smoothly and I will now be having my teeth cleaned 4 times per year instead of the usual 2 to help combat the beginnings of gum disease. From the first appointment and every follow up they have been running late. When I expressed frustration the first time I was told "it was an emergency and this never happens. It's an oddity that he is running late". The time I asked to be seen because I wasn't sure if the pain I was having was normal I was told I should have called and was made to bad for coming in. Fast forward to all my follow ups and they were late. To the point that today's was rescheduled for over an hour later after I got there. I went back for the "final check" and they couldn't get the cap loose and need a tool they didn't have so now I get to go back yet again! I hope this is the only implant I ever need but regardless I will not go back to this office.

I hardly had a wait, and Jane at the front desk made the new patient signup easy, and Marilyn cleaned my teeth thoroughly but gently, despite not having had my teeth cleaned in two years. Dr Ganim inspected my teeth, gave me some dental advice, the reasoning behind it, and what other dentists might tell me. I appreciated that he told me what was going on and why other dentists might say something different than his opinion. It made me feel like the decision was in my hands ultimately. Unlike any other dentist I've been to, Dr. Ganim checked my entire throat and mouth for other possible problems (like cancer).
