I would proceed with caution when dealing with KMB Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC. An experience raised serious concerns about transparency and professionalism. Their website advertises free estimates, yet after a visit where no repair work was performed -- only an assessment and quote -- later the non profit organization received a substantial invoice for a diagnostic fee that was never discussed or authorized beforehand. The accuracy of the diagnosis itself was also incorrect, as the issue was ultimately found to be something different. Communication with this company is disappointing. Statements were made publicly about a recording of a conversation that has still not been produced, and paperwork was presented with a signature the non profit did not provide or authorize. read more

Kevin looked at the skimmer for my hot tub. Told me I needed "special" nuts and bolts. He cut the tabs off of the brand new skimmer and I waited four weeks for him to come back and do the repairs. Finally gave up on waiting for him and called expert spa services. They told me Kevin messed up cutting the tabs off the new skimmer. But recently came out on a weekday afternoon and charged my on-file credit card $652. for swapping out a flexible hose connection and less then an hour on site ( I could have done it in 15 minutes). I asked over and over for an itemized invoice as this seemed way excessive for a $15. part - but they ignored me. No itemization - No return calls or replies to messages. The owner ignores my emails too. Maybe some how the charge is legitimate (very questionable) but their behavior is the trigger point. Very bad customer service - and since they won't explain or justify the charge - as any legitimate business would - I would have to assume this is a untrustworthy business. They charged me $500 for a young man to "jet" the endless pit for 3 hrs and then the owner Kevin, told me they had to come back out the next day to excavate and didn't even know how much it was going to be. Not happy. Agreed to a $495.00 fee to use a video boroscope to look at my underground pool line. I told the owner it was 2" flexible PVC and I provided pictures. They sent two techs ( very polite and professional) with equipment that could not go through elbows in 2" PVC. They did try! I got no result. I tried to negotiate the fee down to $300.00 (offering to pay $100/hour per tech plus 30 minutes travel time.) They stood their ground after multiple pleas; I paid the bill. I should have read the reviews first. I wish them no ill will because they hold employees livelihood in their hands, but they should read their own reviews and reconsider how they operate. I'd suggest you avoid using this company at all costs. Upon my initial call, I was very clear that our AC Mini Splits were not blowing cold air and our fan on our 25ft ceiling was not working. The techs arrived and found that the blowers showed a low refrigerant error. They did clean the filters. They told me that they did not bring the equipment to test and fill the system and that the person who handles the equipment was not in the office. I obviously was shocked that they would come to service call without equipment. I asked them to at least try to out refrigerant in since we had guests coming for July 4th. They reluctantly did but could not gauge the amount t needed. They also did not bring a ladder for the ceiling fan repair. The tech told me that they would not be able to install the fan either. I called the office to discuss my displeasure and was told that my card on file was charged $746 although the they did not actually repair anything. I was told I would receive estimates for repairs vs replacement of the system. After numerous calls to their office and no answers from the owner Kevin or Carol, I called Nauman's HVAC who sent 1 tech with proper equipment and repaired the system for $709. I called KMB numerous times and offered to try to work out an amicable agreement, after almost 2 months of no real response, I was told that Kevin Berry was unwilling to work with me on the cost. Charge me top price for everything they used including swipe of glue for 27.00 and a picece of plumber tape for 7.00 the wire they used although they didnt nedd to cost me 98.00 for wire 36.00 for soilder kit. 78.00 for a press too squeeze the pipe together. then they had to come back next day because it was leaking and charege me again for the 2 kids one at 150.00 the other 90.00, So to replace a 6 inch pipe was 1800.00. Believe the reviews, this company is a scam and will take advantage. They sent a tech to check my grinder, said it needs to be replaced. Tech said himself... a new grinder is somewhere between $1500-$2000. With that, I figured can't be more than 4k to do this job. They said they'd be back 8am next day to do the job. Never sent the estimate, I texted and called the "24/7" number to get the estimate multiple times and no response. With this I had a feeling they were going to try to take advantage of the urgency and just as expected he sends me an estimate for $8000 an hour before they were to do the job! I called them on Friday afternoon and they were here first thing Monday morning. The two techs, Kris and Dave, were knowledgeable and polite, they had the work done in no time at all. KMB was hired to install a water heater at my mother's house in Stroudsburg. After installation the hot water was extremely hot to the point it would burn her if she turned it past the neutral setting. During a subsequent visit for a separate item, she told the technicians about the hot water and all they did was turn the thermostat and didn't look any further, even though the thermostat was already set the lower temperature. I am home for the holidays and found out KMB did not install the electrical wiring from the thermostat of the hot water heater to the circulation pump, nor did they hook up the electricity to it. They just shoved the relay switch under the hot water heater, probably hoping no one would notice. And of course they still charged my mother for a full install. I will say they did hook up the piping correctly, but why the technician didn't hook-up, or even tell my mother about the electrical connections, is unknown. She has been dealing with burning hot water for weeks now. If they didn't know how to hook up the relay switch, they could have said something. This was the second time we had an issue with KMB's work, and it will be the last. Use a different plumber if you want a job done correctly. read more

These people came in my house before to do a job with my faucet and after they left I had a leak, I call them to tell them about it and they said it fixed, there was no more leak, but the other problem was the head of the faucet to pull to have water to travel to to the shower head couldn't stay, so I call them again the other day, they came and the first thing they have me signed 3 times on their phone, I wasn't told what I was signing except for the work, was never told the price, they made the shower working but with a bill of $2045,00 . There I am having not that kind of money and they asked me to posting a check for later to be cash, that $ 2045,00 really hurt me , they want me to post for next month the check, what kind of business is that? I encountered Kevin Michael Berry, owner of KMB Plumbing and Electrical, when I went to contract on a home owned by him. He was to do all construction. After telling my attorney he can not meet our closing date, he is trying to charge me nearly $4,000 for poorly constructed kitchen cabinets in a 50 square kitchen that he told me WOULD BE OF NO COST TO ME!! And -- get this -- charging me $7,000 for LESS THAN 1,000 square feet of bamboo floor picked out by ME at Home Depot and costing $2.69 per square foot. I even have the flooring agreement in writing! Now he claims there is a guage in my kitchen floor that he says was DONE BY ME yet he won't let me in the house to see the alledged damage I caused. The grinder pump failed in my recently purchased home. Being new to area, I found KMB in a church bulletin and called them. they arrived the next day with a replacement. The two men removed the failed pump and dropped the new one in, but they had problems with the automatic shutoff. They spent an hour trying to fix the problem and finally diagnosed a defective float valve in the new pump! They replaced the valve with one they had on truck. Then I was presented with a huge bill for the pump which was double (over $4000) what I had paid in the past for similar sewer pump and four man hours for what should have been a one hour job. I complained to Kevin that the float diagnosis was their problem. He deducted one man hour and I paid the bill. Shortly thereafter, I discovered that there was a sewage leak around the grinder well. I called and KMB sent two men and a truck. It turned out that the PVC junction on top of the grinder pump was cracked (I believe from pump install). They fixed it and I was satisfied until I got the bill. KMB charged me for two men and a truck ($596) to replace a single PVC fitting! Now I am having trouble with the pump not shutting off but I am looking for another plumber. read more

I woke up to a house with no water and contacted my usual plumber. After assessing the situation, he informed me that the piping from the well to the house was corroded and needed replacement. This job was something he did not do, so he put me in touch with KMB Plumbing. Kevin responded to my problem in a timely fashion, understanding that my house had no water. The technician that came to inspect the existing plumbing was respectful, knowledgeable and thorough. He recommended a process for replacing the original pipe that did not involve any digging, and he discussed my options concerning replacement materials. Based on his recommendations, I chose an option that would resolve the problem and was not overly expensive. Chase and Ryan (the technicians) showed up punctually and, within a few hours, I had water, and with a pressure that I'd never enjoyed before. I have to admit that I don't understand some of the negative reviews that have been posted here; I'm VERY satisfied with this supplier and would use them again and recommend to others. read more

grinder pump wasn't working. wasnt sure if it was a bad float or the pump it self. 2 techs came out at 11:30AM and left at 1PM. pumped the holding tank out using a sump pump and did a few tests (tried bypassing the float, verifying power) and charged me $640 then told me if i did a new grinder pump through them ($4000 btw) they would put that towards it... First off EVERYBODY I called for pricing on grinder pumps were at least $1100 cheaper. Secondly the highest price i got to pump the tank was $250 and a $79 service charge to come out (if that) so since they give "free estimates" (which should include minimal diagnostics otherwise how can they estimate the cost of repair?) they essentially charged $640 to pump a holding tank... they didn't tell me any prices till after everything is done or i would have told them no and called somebody else. never will i use this company again nor recommend them. read more
