This contractor is well reviewed with an impressive portfolio and highly qualified - BUT.. as soon as we discussed issues around the city permitting requirements, it quickly went south. From citing delays, potential added costs, etc. which is understandable. HOWEVER, we were able to acquire a simple "over the counter" permit from RPV which did not require submitting any plans, details, product specs, etc. since it was simply replacing current -- existing composite boards. After advising him of such, we get a request to meet and being told, he could no longer do the job due to a worker injury. While it may be the case, it just seemed TOO coincidental that this happens immediately upon my sending a text advising of the permitting. SOOO I guess the lesson learned from this case is if even licensed contractors express hesitations or push back about permitting.. STAY AWAY from them. Now we have to start the painful task of interviewing contractors and bids again.. THANKS FOR NOTHING iDeck!!!!

I decided to have my deck refinished by Patios4All and I couldn't be happier with the results! Naturally the deck is old and some places are not 100% but it beats spending $10k to re build the whole deck. The team was professional, they showed me a few stain options, they performed some light sanding to the surface and applied 2 coats. They took the time to explain the process and answer all of my questions. I will probably stretch it for a few more years and have it replaced for a trex deck so no maintenance, but I do know who I would call when the time comes.

We were looking to make it a bit more contemporary. With Pearl's help we designed a modern structure covered with stucco and some wood work on top of it for some contrast. This required an actual plan submitted to the city believe it or not but I guess they have to do for the building permit process. It took some time but eventually we got approved. We went with an Ipe deck for the floors, no stain was added, just a clear coat for protection. The result is amazing! They have exceeded our expectation. From the very beginning they were on time, kept us informed on the permit process and everything. As in every project I'm sure we have minor delays but I rather wait and get better results than finish fast and then feel sorry for not perfecting the project or making mistakes

The team installed an approximately 80-foot powder-coated aluminum fence, cemented securely into the side of a hill--no small task--and the end result looks absolutely perfect. Their workmanship, attention to detail, and efficiency really stood out. They were incredibly easy to work with: responsive, professional, and fast from start to finish. I also took the time to compare pricing across several companies, and Conejo Valley Fence was by far the most competitive, while still delivering top-tier quality. A special shoutout to my sales rep, Mike, who was fantastic throughout the entire process. He stayed closely involved and was even on-site to ensure everything was executed exactly as planned. I highly recommend Conejo Valley Fence to anyone looking for high-quality fencing done right.

The price was even comparable to my original terrible vinyl gate, which made me upset I didn't find these guys first! Thank you Conejo Valley Fencing!

We needed a company that could provide quality waterproofing quickly and efficiently, since we only had one chance to get it right. After interviewing numerous roofing and waterproofing companies and receiving many bids, I'm convinced that Capital Deck & Stairs are the best roofing contractors in Los Angeles. Capital was incredibly professional and responsive from the very first call, where they explained their services and guarantee. Abraham came out the next morning for an inspection, provided a detailed estimate that night, and had our project scheduled to start the next business day. Their pricing was competitive with other bids but the level of professionalism and customer service is what set them apart. Abraham understood our urgency and went above and beyond to ensure our job was completed on time without a hitch. Their team began work the day the wildfires began and worked through strong winds and bad air quality to keep us on schedule. When they uncovered our rotted subfloor, they addressed it immediately with only a single day added to the overall schedule. I am a stickler on detail and was extremely impressed with their work. They replaced all the old, worn-out flashing and even matched the weird texture of our stucco railing walls. The final result exceeded our highest expectations. Our roof deck is now very durable and beautifully waterproofed for years to come. After the job was complete, Abraham provided thorough documentation for the vampires at the insurance company, helping us avoid the nightmare of policy cancellation. From start to finish, Capital Deck & Stairs delivered high quality work and outstanding service. If you need waterproofing or roofing services in L.A., this is the team to call. I'm so glad I found them and would absolutely use them again in the future. Posting photos of the finished result followed by photos of the before state to show the amazing transformation.

LA Railings - Modern indoor glass railing with matte black spigots -- sleek safety solution for staircases and landings in Los Angeles homes.

LA Railings was a pleasure to work with and we are extremely pleased with the finish work and look…read moreof our new glass railings! We did an major renovation of our home. We engaged LA Railings in the middle of the project, before we did any work on our existing stairs. We had two sets of non-floating stairs, a landing, and a set of floating stairs. The floating stair case, the most complex of the project, was made longer and wider, and having them involved in this piece of the project was important. We had new steel treads welded and the stand off bolts were welded before tread installation. Precise measurements and plans were very important. Sharam came on site several times before the project started and worked closely with our GC and Welder. I worked with Clalyton on the design. He gave me a few options, where the standoffs would be placed. I also able to visit the store front in North Hollywood. Sharam gave me a few different standoff sizes to try out on the treads after the hardwood wraps were completed. This really helped to decide the aesthetically the best size to use. The work crews that came out were very professional and helpful explaining the work and next steps. They took care to protect our home as most of it was finished work. It took several visits to complete the work (very large job) and do some adjusting. Sharam came out several times during the installation phase to oversee the work. Glass Railings really change and beautify your home. We had mostly metal railings, clean look, but now our floating staircase with the glass railings are absolutely the star of the home when you walk inside. Are they pricey? Yes, but even custom metal railings are expensive. These glass panels are tempered (think shower doors) AND double layered. If you have done any shower doors (we recently did 3 sets for 3 bathrooms) or installed new windows/sliding glass doors (I can't count how many we just installed!), glass is very expensive! Highly recommend using LA Railings and definitely wouldn't hesitate to use them again! Sharam, Clayton, and Staff were excellent!

1-Star Review: Very Disappointing Experience With LA Railings (Van Nuys)…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience using LA Railings in Van Nuys. Nothing about this installation went smoothly, and the final result still looks uneven. I was originally told the installation would take 1.5 to 2 hours, but the crew was in my home for 5.5 to 6 hours, which completely disrupted my day. The first major issue was the handrail installation. The brackets were placed 3.5 inches off the glass railing, which looked completely wrong for a narrow residential staircase. When I contacted the owner, he insisted that 3.5 inches was "required by code." I asked for the exact code because my research showed no such requirement. He later admitted there is no code, and agreed to replace them at 1.5 inches, which is how they should have been installed from the beginning. The glass installation was also problematic. The panels were not flush, requiring three separate appointments before they finally aligned them. Even now, the spacing between the glass panels is uneven -- one gap is noticeably larger than the others. If spacing was part of the design, it should have been even and intentional, not random. Another issue I was disappointed to discover is that the base they installed includes four weep holes. Weep holes are typically used for drainage in exterior or commercial installations, not inside a home. In a residential staircase, they simply look like four chips in the base. This was never explained or discussed with me beforehand, and it detracts from the clean, modern look I specifically hired them to create. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability. I contacted the owner again regarding the uneven glass spacing, and he never responded. After all the issues and return visits, the complete lack of follow-up or courtesy was unacceptable. For the price I paid, I expected professional workmanship, accurate information, and proper customer service. Instead, I received misinformation, repeated corrections, and unresolved issues that still impact the appearance of my home. I cannot recommend LA Railings. The product itself could have been beautiful, but the execution, communication, and attention to detail were extremely disappointing.
