Karen was a dream to work with! I knew exactly what floral arrangements I wanted for our son's rehearsal dinner and sent her photos. Of course, the arrangements I loved were packed full of higher end flowers. Karen was able to create the same effect and stay within our budget! A sweet family friend recently lost a family member and I wanted to send her and arrangement to brighten her day. Being that we live in Louisiana and her in Galveston my initial thought was to use a large company such as a 1800 flowers or the like. From the phone call to place the order all the way through to delivery the team at Knapp were informative, friendly and beyond talented. I had a very specific overall aesthetic in mind and just a couple hard no's for a couple flowers I didn't want to see (baby's breath and carnations) and I was very upfront with my budget. The associate I spoke to assured me they could prepare a beautiful arrangement for the budget and could guarantee delivery. She was very helpful and detailed and the ordering process took no more than 10 minutes. Today the flowers were delivered and the recipient could not have been happier. She says the flowers had the most amazing fragrance and every detail was thought of from the calligraphy of her name on the card to the nice vase they arrived in. I hate that I can't give this place a better review but honestly if it weren't for the good customer service, it would be a worse review. The customer service was great from the time of the initial phone call to the pickup, but the actual arrangement was very disappointing. I honestly feel like a 15-20 dollar fresh arrangement at heb with a bow tied around the stems would have been just as pretty and much cheaper. My arrangement was just "ok" and I would compare it to the previous mentioned heb arrangement, but my flowers cost 125$. I will include a picture. I am often very disappointed in my experience with florist but oh my gosh this place was great! I didn't experience the shop/store front because I live in Austin and was sending flowers to my mom who lives in Galveston. I picked this florist because they had great reviews on line and in looking at their website I enjoyed a few of their arrangements. When I called I still wasn't sure I was even going to send flowers to my mom because I was on a tight budget and figured they would be out of my range. The lady on the phone was incredibly nice. I told her about the picture on line and she was able to pull it up and tell me exactly which flowers they currently had available. She said she could stick with the color scheme but the flowers wouldn't be exactly the same. That was a'okay with me because I just wanted the arrangement to be fresh and you could tell that was important to her. The pricing was spot on; it was only $65 for this beautiful large arrangement and anywhere else I have been it would have been at least $100! Even better, I placed my order at about 1:30pm and at the end of the call I asked if it would be delivered tomorrow. She said nope we will get it delivered today! What?! When I first walked in to Knapp, it was like walking in to a small town world of whimsy. I was in love. It is so adorable. Perfection. I had with me six separate golden items for my wedding tables. I saw the florist and laid out all my items and I told her "build flowers around these items, use peonies, make them pretty". Not the most descriptive I could be about my vision. The florist took notes and told me they could make it happen. I was a little apprehensive. I did not see the centerpieces until I entered the reception room and they were breathtaking. They nailed it. Like they were in my head. Whimsical but classy. I wish I could have frozen them in time and put them all over my house. I would trust them for any major event. Today is my mom's 60th birthday. I live in California and my she lives in Galveston, TX. I had an awful day yesterday and completely forgot to call a florist to arrange for delivery today. On top of that, my morning started off awful, so I didn't get to call Knapp Flower Shop until 11am (that's 1pm in Galveston). I know I'm full of excuses. So it's 1pm and I need them delivered today, please. Pretty please? I apologized for the late notice, though the gentleman on the phone sounded like it wasn't a big deal. He took my order, asking if I wanted anything in particular in the arrangement, how much I wanted to spend, and what I wanted the card to say. I told him purple, roses (other reviews online said that their roses are always beautiful), and I referenced a picture on their website with purple flowers and heather. He said that they'd be delivered today and that was that. The call was quick and easy, and I was relieved that I was sending a gorgeous bouquet of purple flowers that would actually arrive on her birthday,despite my procrastination. But you never know when you call for flowers to be delivered and you don't see them.... My mom told me that they were BEAUTIFUL. The vase was interesting (square opaque purple), the purple flowers were fresh and fragrant, and they popped it with red roses and red tulips. She said that the purple and the red looked so fresh and interesting. To top it off, they perched the most beautiful bird among the buds. And the card was gold embossed and sealed beautifully.. My mom almost liked the card more than the flowers. They were delivered by 5pm (talk about fast!). Just in time, because she was heading out to dinner around 6. Yes!
