Poor Service and Even Worse Management. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience here. Our waitress was not very friendly, and when I asked about a few items I thought may have been specials, her response was simply, "I've been here two weeks and haven't seen that," rather than offering to check. She also completely forgot to bring my Caesar salad. The biggest issue came when it was time to pay. We were given almost no explanation other than being told our table had somehow "disappeared" from the device our waitress was using. Apparently our order had been charged to another table, and we were told, "Your bill was $54, but you only have to pay $52," without ever being shown our actual bill. When I asked to see a physical bill, our waitress stared at us, walked away, and got the manager. The manager then came over and complained about the billing system they use and told us the bills couldn't simply be changed. After I again asked to see our actual bill, he finally brought one over, only for us to discover it included the Caesar salad I never received. He removed it but still never provided us with an updated bill and instead started calculating what we owed on his phone. We spent about 15-20 minutes just waiting for the billing situation to be figured out, with very little communication and no real apology or attempt to make things right. We were also told the waitress was being made to pay the difference out of pocket, which honestly seemed unfair considering she had only been there two weeks and clearly did not seem to have the training needed to handle the situation. Mistakes happen, but management should be able to resolve them professionally and support their employees rather than making an already uncomfortable situation worse. Clean interior with plenty of TVs to watch a game. Service was very friendly, when we said it was our first time there she took the time to explain some of the popular dishes and where to find the specials. Was told the burgers were really good so I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger medium rare with fries. We did have to wait a bit for our food. People that came in after us received their dishes before us but we were not in a hurry. The waitress did stop by a couple times saying we would be up soon. In my experience that seems to mean the order wasn't put in or there was a mix up in the kitchen. Unfortunately the burger was over cooked. It was barely medium. Only a couple of spots of pink left. They claimed they were charbroiled but I didn't get in char flavor from the burger nor was there any seasoning on the patty. Bacon was tasty and the cheese was melted well. Bun was nicely toasted. Fries were a little under could have spent a little longer in the fryer. Loved the POS system that allows the ability to check out with the QR code. I was pleasantly surprised by Knapps. I wasn't expecting much bc I've seen some not-great reviews. We've been here twice now. The first time was in the warmer months. We were there just for drinks with a couple of friends. We played Cornhole outside. Drinks were good, we didn't order anything fancy. Service was good. We enjoyed ourselves. This last time, my Husband and I stopped after church for lunch. We started with the cheese curds. They were fantastic and a large portion. I had the clam chowder. I'm picky with my chowder and I loved theirs. I also ordered a Buffalo shrimp appetizer that they had on special. This was tasty, but the breading was a bit soggy. I wasn't too hungry after the chowder, so I took the rest of the shrimp home. When I reheated it in the convection oven, it crisped up and was really good. The blue cheese dressing was VERY good! Was a regular their took my family there for dinner tonight and they refused service because we had a 6 month old in a stroller. I came here when they first opened and wasn't too impressed. I tried again today and still was not impressed lol. The food was okay. We got jumbo buffalo wings and they were just okay. The skin wasn't crispy. We had 2 servers that came to the table at different times so I'm not sure if one was training or if thats how they just do it. He didn't really say. Had to try my favorite cocktail being the first time coming here. Place was packed, but drinks came very quickly, usually have to wait for a cocktail. It wasn't my favorite but no where near the worst. Traditional glass, I prefer the one cube, good balance, ordered another one as I always do to see if it was made the same, and it was, possibly a heavier pour on the second, but still balanced. Best bar in downtown New Baltimore by a mile. They always have the right game on, the atmosphere is spot-on, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Woodfired Pizza: Tried the "margarita pizza," wanted to add chicken, but "no substitutions." Would have been happy to pay the extra $2.50 to add chicken, wasn't allowed. Tried it anyway, but the pizza itself wasn't good. Didn't have any woodfired taste, no good char, crust was bland, lacked sauce. Haven't tried the square pizza yet, but I wish they would alter the topping prices for the large and the small. It's $1.50 per reg topping, $2.50 per premium topping, doesn't matter if its fora small or large pizza, but that means getting a few topping small, four piece pizza is going to run around $20. Seems steep, comparatively. Sides: White bean chicken chili - bland Fries and house chips - need seasoning, bad. I wish they would take a trip to Tina's Country Kitchen, or to Cabana Blue to get an idea as to how to properly serve house chips. Cocktails - 10.0 Best cocktails around, by far. Really good Old Fashioned, wish they had a cocktail menu, but don't be afraid to challenge the bartender, they know what they're doing. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and excited to check out this new spot in New Baltimore. It was a Friday night and everyone was ready to let loose. This place was on slam so getting a table was a hot commodity. Our friends had been here early and had been waiting on a 6 top in the bar area for over two hours. Here's where the night turned south....believe it or not, we were next on the list and they skipped over our group and seated another group. We were all in shock and the birthday girl was quite disappointed to say the least. The kicker, they tried to say the other group was before us, but they were most certainly not! We decided to stay for a few drinks and eventually got a table. Let's just say the food was NOT worth the wait. I ordered the Cubano, which was dry, my friend ordered a burger medium, it came out overly done and he didn't want to eat it or take it home, the wood fired pizza was very basic, lacked flavor, the rest of the group seemed okay with their meals. The onion rings were the best thing on the table I think. The highlight to our evening, the wait staff and bartenders were fantastic and of course hanging with a group of awesome friends is always a bonus! I don't think we will back here anytime soon. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant ever since I heard they opened another location, with the exception of this location having an expanded menu, which their Richmond location does not. Our server was great & very helpful with suggesting what to order. We had the spinach salad & added shrimp to it, which the shrimp were HUGE! Great sized salad also. We also got their grilled chicken wrap sandwich with their house potato chips (which were fantastic!) & a cup of their homemade loaded potato soup, YUM. Absolutely the WORST dining experience I've ever had. The waitress was incredibly rude from the start. My drink was made wrong, and when I asked for it to be taken off the bill (after only ONE sip), I was refused. I requested to speak to a manager and was left waiting for over an hour and a half! Knapp's City Garage Review Here are the reasons why I am rating this restaurant so poorly: 1. They messed up our order. I asked for a burger without onions on it, due to my friend being allergic, and it came with caramelized onions cooked right into it. Mistakes happen right? Well, read on.. 2. They made a mistake, but they did nothing to rectify it; and they'd rather see their customers starve than be satisfied patrons. Upon telling my server, Audrey, that the burger had onions on it -- she didn't offer a resolution (such as another burger, to take it off the bill, etc.), didn't even apologize, and ran away from the table and didn't come back for about 20 mins. 3. They charged us for the food my friend was allergic to. Once we received the bill, the burger was still listed on there. After pointing it out to Audrey, she said "there are no guarantees" that it can be removed. She then spoke with management and came back to the table, and told us that they wouldn't remove the burger from the bill. 4. They lied; When we spoke with the manager, he claimed that Audrey told him that my friend ate most of the burger, so he wouldn't be able to remove it from the bill. My friend showed it to him. To his dismay, Audrey clearly lied to him and placed blame on the customer. 5. The manager claimed to be "reusing" partially eaten food. The manager said that the only way he'd be able to remove the burger from the bill is if we gave it back to him. I wanted to feed it to my dog instead of wasting it. He claimed it wouldn't go to waste because he would "reuse" it. My friend countered, "you're going to reserve it to customers?" He stuttered suspiciously and denied it. 6. My friend left hungry. And while they finally removed the burger from the bill, we left angry and told him that we wouldn't be back...and we won't be. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was overpriced, bland, and the flavor that you could taste was mediocre at best. I will go a step further than just not recommending. To care so little about the satisfaction, the health and well-being of customers that have severe allergic reactions, and to refuse to honor orders...I would advise you not to go there. And after reading other reviews, it looks like we were not alone in being treated this way. read more
