Soon after my birthday, my grandmother who is very near and dear to me fell very ill and so I went up to help take care of her. Then she passed away at the end of August, so once I was home and trying to keep my mind off of my grief I decided to finally use my Groupon to relax. Well that's where it all started, over the next follow few weeks, I called multiple times, left multiple messages, at one point her VM was full so I had a SMS message sent to her and I stopped by her place of business but no one was there. So I left a post it on the door asking to please be called. THE NEXT DAY.....I finally her back from here but through text and she gave me the same run around she gave other people about trying to catch up and being busy. I had a high call volume with the groupons with kneaded knots. Are you available mornings or evenings fot a massage appointment Me: The thing is I've been trying to get ahold of you/someone since the end of August. I've called 3 times, text once and stopped by the place of business once. My Groupon expired on September 26 but I wasn't able to get to use it due to a close death in my family that took up a lot of time, I've given that info in one of the messages I left. I will not service you at this point Me: Already have, would not use your service if it were still available and I will be making sure my circles on social media know as well. If I could give zero stars, I would. By far and away the WORST customer service and response time of anyone I've ever encountered - in any industry. I'm shocked that this business is still intact, albeit at a new La Mesa location now, after such appalling business behaviors. I bought a package deal. One time she was a no call, no show. Another time cancelled 2 hours before the appointment, and late every other time but once. I fell for the price point, but 'you get what you pay for' applies 100% here. I highly encourage you to spend a little bit more at an actual reputable business. read more

I loved my visits to this place, when I was working as a driver the constant sitting made my back a hellscape, when I needed a quick adjustment I went and saw my girl Lisa. She asked me the first time how much pressure I would like and I looked this tiny woman up and down and thought to myself there's no way her strongest pressure could do anything for me so I said give me all you've got. Lisa is wonderful. My massage was so productive. ( I am well experienced with massage therapy, acupuncture etc). I currently have several tension issues, pain management issues, injury pain issues, range of motion issues. Lisa listens and treats purposefully. She is definitely a skilled, knowledgeable, massage therapist. I have had progress after two treatments and am creating a regular schedule to keep building my progress. My choice because I recognize her skill, not because she is trying to sell me. She does clearly request communication for appts etc via TEXT as it is faster, direct, and efficient ( sorry naysayers) Lisa is also well versed in other holistic health alternatives. This place is horrific. DO NOT buy the Groupon. I have been in text communication with the owner trying to schedule an appointment for over 2 weeks now. She will go 3 days without answering, say her phone is broken, and then tell me she has no availability. Tonight she actually told me to just "get a refund" from Groupon (see attached picture). If this is how poor her communication is, I cant even imagine what the quality of the massage would be like. No thanks! read more

Very unfortunate that I leave a bad review like this but I am just very upset about how this place is ran.. I bought the Groupon deal which had amazing reviews. I wish I saw the yelp reviews first.. I have tried multiple times to contact the business for A MONTH. via text, call, and voice message. No responses whatsoever. I have even visited the business in person multiple times only to wait 30 minutes every time, to not even be helped (she would be in a room with a customer which I understand I won't bother, but I will not wait for an unknown time estamate when she will be done). I luckily visited a time when she finished up with a customer and explains that she has been catching up for the past 3 days ; which I guess makes it okay to waste people's time and not reach back to customers. I'm sure all the other people contacting her are curious to what is going on.. I'm sure hiring a front desk associate to schedule/contact customers would solve these issues. read more

" Lisa Went To Areas That Nobody Has Before " I went today to the " Kneaded Knots " massage therapy in La Mesa today and had a new and rewarding experience. First I was greeted so nicely by the Kneaded Knots Assistant Linda at the front counter. Linda was very nice as she gave me some paperwork to fill out. Lisa Stanley the massage specialist and owner of Kneaded Knots is a San Diego native, and has been serving in the San Diego area as a licensed Massage Therapist since 2009. She specializes in many particular methods or procedures like Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Sports, Injury, and Prenatal. Lisa told me that she has a unique sensitivity for immediately finding knots and tension on your body, which I have many of. And Lisa was correct. Being a former Athlete and having Hundreds and Hundreds of massages over my life time, it was amazing to see that Lisa massaged, pressured, poked, and relaxed, some areas on my body that nobody has ever done before. My muscles areas are always very tight, and Lisa amazingly relaxed, and loosened them up. My chiropractor, Dr. Gregg, in La Mesa recommended Lisa Stanley of Kneaded Knots. I saw her regularly prior to the pandemic. She is a great massage therapist, knowledgeable, and experienced. I always received good therapeutic massages that helped address back and neck pain, along with being very relaxing. In reading many of the other reviews of Kneaded Knots here on Yelp, I too had miscommunication ONCE regarding 1 appointment where she was a no-show, but later contacted me to explain she had a dental emergency. I do know that Lisa is hard-working, seems to be, perhaps, a single parent (I don't actually know) and runs her own business. I chose to not be offended, instead feeling empathy for her and giving her credit for working hard to support herself and her family by running her own business-she likely has a lot on her "plate". I see that she has changed locations and now that I am more becoming comfortable going to personal service appointments, I will be going back to Lisa. A skilled massage therapist who is competitively priced and close to my home is fine by me. If I get the chance, after my next massage with Lisa, I will update my review about my experience.
