Knickers of Hyde Park is truly a God-send! The majority of women (including me!) are wearing the wrong sized bra and I have never had a properly fitting bra because Victoria's Secret and department stores simply do not carry small enough band sizes. Knickers is the place to go! The smallest band size most stores carry is 32 and for thin, but busty girls like me, this just doesn't work out. And I didn't even know there was a smaller option available until a friend of mine suggested giving Knickers a try. So I stopped by and was helped by the kindest woman who spent over an hour with me to find the perfect fitting bra. I tried on close to 20 options before I finally found the most perfect fit ever. EVER. There was only one of this fit and style in stock, but I was able to special order 2 more with no issues. The quality of the products here far and away exceeds other options out there and it definitely shows on the price tag. But because the quality is so much better, my bras have lasted so much longer! The customer service here is SO GOOD. I just left the store. I've heard many wonderful things about their storefront and wanted to check it out for myself. I was looking for a bra to wear for work it was full coverage and comfortable. The sizing process was amazingly easy and in about five minutes they have me in the correct size. The bras prices are on point for what I expect to spend at Lane Bryant and the fit was impeccable. When I called to make my appointment they told me that they didn't use measuring tape and I was a little surprised because every place that I have gone to be fitted use measurement tape and does some fancy calculations in the back it comes back of my bra size. Sometimes the fit is good and other times it's not. She looked at the current bra that I had on and adjusted from there. I am severely amazed at how easy and how wonderful the customer service was here. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I needed a undergarments for my sister wedding the NEXT DAY. This is a tall order because most people don't stock the larger size that I needed. I had been to several stores already and no one was able to help. Not only did Knickers have my size, but their customer service was exceptional! If you're not a lingerie clad type of person, there are also negligees that are cotton comfy or silky smooth. Still not a fan, try the comfy boxer shorts that hug a booty sweetly or a form-fitted tank that is snug and lazy-day worthy. There's a bit of everything that isn't going to make you break a sweat, considering we all know that lingerie is typically overpriced, cheap and bound to snag during the first visit to the Laundromat. She brought me probably 20 bras to try on - I ended up with 3. The store has plenty of options for bras, panties, lingerie, and lounge wear. Pricing is pretty standard for higher end brands and a boutique shop. These are better quality than Victoria's Secret so they are slightly more expensive. My cousins and I visited trying to get bras for Cousin A's upcoming wedding. I was a little surprised that our fitting didn't involve any actual measuring- our fitters looked at the bras we came in wearing and went from there. They were good enough to see where cup and band size needed to be changed, but they never specifically said "This is your ideal bra size", because it changed a lot based on the brand and the country the bra was designed in. Cousin A had a fairly easy to find bra size, and was able to find a couple cute options that she was happy with. Cousin B and I were on the larger end of the spectrum (though nothing extremely out of the ordinary) and had a much harder time finding anything we liked. We found very few pretty options (most of the larger sizes were very plain and in black, tan, or white) and were also surprised at how insubstantial all the bras felt. In the end, Cousin B and I left empty handed because we did not want to spend $60-$100 for a bra that felt like they were from Target, though Cousin A was very happy with her purchase. read more

85% of women wear the wrong bra size! What can help? A trip to Knickers! If it is your first visit, they will automatically do a bra fitting. You probably could have opted out, but you could tell it was "highly suggested". I'm so glad I did! Yes, obviously a little awkward, but the lady that helped me made me feel...not awkward. That's saying something! They made many trips to find an appropriate size for me. They were a bit understaffed so their service was a bit slow, but I still think totally worth it. I was on a specific mission for strapless bra, but they had a very wide selection. Everyday bras, many different types of pajamas, as well as selections for "special occasions". They also offer band adjustments, and the first one is free! As with other small shops, it is a bit expensive, but Victoria's Secret has nothing on the selection and service. Just make sure to allow at least an hour or so for your first fitting. I will absolutely be making a return visit! read more

I cannot buy bras at just any store at the mall; I need to wear bras with quality support that are not going to fall apart after six months. In comes Knickers of Hyde Park. The store is rather adorable, and the sales ladies are usually always very helpful. I started going to Knickers as a recent high school grad, about five years ago. Yes, a $50 bra is a little pricey for an 18 yr. old, but it was worth it, at the time anyway. My patronage continued there until a couple of summers ago. Because Knickers carries only the best quality bras, they are often ordered from overseas, and they are more than willing to order you the exact style and color of a bra that you want. I appreciate that very much, and I also understand that it may take a couple of months for a particular order to come in; however, after I tried calling them every month for a year after the suggested six months it may take for the bra I wanted to arrive, I never ever received it. I just kept being told that "it was on its way" or "the company changed hands, so everything is a little crazy right now." Excuse after excuse. Needless to say, I've found other places to buy my unmentionables and will never walk into that store again. It's too bad because they do have nice things, but this experience turned me off completely. read more

I was expecting to walk into a store filled with WAY over priced lingerie, but I was pleasantly surprised that most items in this store were decently priced, and in most cases cheaper than going to Victoria's Secret. Most of their panties and thongs were priced around $6.50 which is a wonderful price for such an item. Their bras ran at around $40, dirt cheap compared to Vickie's. The store is comprised of sections of color coordinated clothing and nightgown sets. Then above each set is a series of bath and body products that reflect the same color scheme. It all looks really nice put together. When I went they were having a 30% off sale for all of their bath and body products, which they had a lot of! I'm not sure how long this sale lasts, so get them while you can! read more

The Vaudevillian nightgown glistened in the window display under the moonlight. It was calling me, with its black lace and red bustiere. I returned the next day to make a purchase. Upon entering, I found my size and headed for the fitting room. A success! I browsed the store, looking at other beautiful garments: silk underwear 3 for $15 (half the cost of Victoria's Secret, which is 3 for $30), leggings, swim suits, lotions... they even have glass nail files! The price is right too. Everything in the store cost an average of $12.00 less than Victoria's Secret, and looked more unique too. While I was head over heels for the merchandise, the service could have been better. I entered the store without so much as a "Hello" from the cashier. There was only one other customer in the store. I was already out of the fitting room, browsing the sale rack when a clerk asked me if I needed help. The she proceeded to follow me like I was going to steal something. It was pretty awkward, so I stopped browsing and headed to the register with my nightgown. I probably would have added some underwear to my purchase had the encounter not happened. Nonetheless, I'll eventually return to Knickers, with the persuasion of their window displays and oh-so-tempting sale rack. read more

I discovered Knicker's last year when looking for new bras and it is really the best place in town to get the kind of service needed to find the best fitting bras and good quality undergarments. The owner Jenny is truly wonderful. She is so friendly and helpful you can't help but want to come back again and again. I had a small issue with a camisole and she graciously made it right. Ooohhh La La! Shopping at Knickers instantly made me feel so European and glamourous! I had to resist my inner voice that really wanted to start using a fake british accent while browsing. Kickers combines lingerie with elegance and a touch of sophistication without adding any tackiness. The sales staff are friendly and helpful and the store is clean and charming. I love the big chairs embroidered with K in the back to sit and wait while flicking through Vanity Fair. And if you opt for their customized bra fitting, you would feel completely comfortable stripping down and getting measured and probably leave with much better support and all your parts right where they belong! Julie rocks! I stopped in while in town for a day and beyond frustrated with being unable to find a bra that fits and doesn't put me into tears with pain. Julie brought me dozens of bras and was patient while we worked through each one trying to find a fit...which isn't easy. I'm a 34K. And that's British sizes. It's something like a 34O in US size. Seriously...the letter "Oh". I make it tough because I'm a Little picky...not ridiculously so. I would just like to feel pretty in the morning. Looking like my grandma in a boob straight jacket is not exactly an inspiring way to start your day. And Julie got it. I walked out with two bras. One for sport that I could also wear for every day. I'm in love! I had never been fitted for a bra before (sad but true) and decided this last weekend that it was high time that I did that. I took my mom with me and being the larger chested ladies that we are, we've always had trouble finding anything that comes close to fitting well in a traditional store. The store itself is so adorable! They have tons of options in many sizes and it's very well displayed. Jenny (the owner) and her assistant were so helpful and so professional during the fitting process and brought back tons of options. I was pretty stunned to find out my true size and was so pleased with how much better I felt with a properly fitting bra on. I found at least 6 that I LOVED and decided to purchase 2. In their computer, they store your size and "wish list" of other bras you'd like to purchase in the future which I found to be really helpful since I definitely plan to go back to buy more. I've looked online (since my visit) at the bras I purchased and others that I liked to compare prices and I found Knickers to be the same price and sometimes cheaper than the other stores carrying similar products. I was surprised because normally boutique stores hike their prices a bit but found that Knickers was right on target. I had such a good experience that I brought my sister and two good friends in later the same day and two of them purchased bras! As a large chested woman for my entire life I have been on the search for a good and comfortable bra for decades. I recently had a baby so my search escalated as my body changed. I did countless hours of research online and ordered several bras but I realize that nothing is a a substitute for the experience of trying them on in store with amazing customer service. I went on a Friday morning and Julie measured, helped, and encouraged for the entire experience. She was attentive and positive. I appreciated her honesty and support. They carried a nice selection that expanded from eye masks, to soft nightgowns, lingerie, garters, perfumes etc. I ended up with a lovely robe that I plan to wear on my wedding day - it says Mrs. on the back and I will, I do , I did on the inside. I love this place. You walk in and instantly feel glamorous and sexy with all the beautiful decor. They have such a great selection of intimate, active, and lounge wear. Better than big box retial chains if you know what I mean. They carry Hanky Panky's too (at affordable prices). And will actually fit you to the appropriate bra size (most women actually wear the wrong bra size, unknowingly). Best selection of bridal lingerie too. Knickers has taught me one sie does not fit all, and that just like jeans, every brand and style of bra fits differently. Luckily Knickers has a great selection of brands, styles, and sizes to accomodate everyone. I happend to be a bit larger on top and the traditional mall stores like Victoria's Secret don't carry my size. The department stores only have a few bras in my size, and they look like they were made for 80 year old women, but at Knickers you can find something sexy and supportive. They also sell PJs and lingerie. The staff is anxious to help without being pushy and is always professional. I would highly recommend a visit, and a fitting. read more

They have some solid basics for a fair price: only brick and mortar retailer I know in town that stocks Berkshire stockings, which for my money are among the best in the world. In addition they have some more unique finds for a few dollars more, which would make great gifts/splurges. So fun and cute!! I had a bachelorette party here for my sister a week ago and the staff was so helpful from start to finish. Everyone had a great time, and walked away with a cute pair of underwear courtesy of Knicker's and other goodies bought with a 20% discount for the party guests. Not a crazy, wild bachelorette party (although I think it would be possible here if you wanted it to be!) but definitely a great girl's night, and within walking distance to fun bars/restaurants. This is only my third time to a speciality shop but I left with my absolute best fit ever. I have a very large cup size and thought the whole "divide and lift" thing was a myth developed to crush my self esteem. Apparently not! ! They had a wide variety of styles to choose from on hand in the store. Not 2/3, not we can order some or go to this website, and most important of all, they were actually pretty! I first met Jenny, the lovely owner of Knickers of Hyde Park, just before Christmas 2014. I was looking to give my girlfriend, Heather, an upgrade to her everyday lingerie and I'd always heard that Knickers was the place to get it done. The Knickers team delivered on that reputation and then some. Jenny personally assisted Heather with a proper bra fitting and then helped her find just what she was looking for in regards to style, color and fit. She truly made Heather feel like her most important client. Needless to say Heather was hooked and I knew I'd be back. My second visit was for Heather's birthday, although this time I was by myself. Upon my arrival, Jenny remembered me, and Heather, and was eager to help me find the perfect birthday gift. She checked her records, new exactly what size she needed and proceeded to present to me multiple options to choose from. It was a seamless operation that I thought couldn't get any better, but then Jenny proved me wrong. While she was beautifully gift wrapping Heathers presents, I mentioned I needed to head to the post office right away to overnight them to Chicago, where we live. Jenny then replied "Don't bother, we can ship it for you for the same price the post office would." Amazed, I happily obliged, but I hadn't picked up a card yet. Jenny told me PoEm was right next door and they'd have just what I needed. They did indeed and when I returned she let me use the little table in the back of the shop to write my note and I was all set. I thanked them for their wonderful service and told them I was very impressed with all of the extras. That's when Jenny's top assistant, I'm sorry I'm not sure what her name is, replied "we're here to make you the king." Perfect. I'm a client for life. What a great shop! I was visiting my daughter in Cincinnati (from Oregon) and mentioned I needed to go to my favorite department store to purchase a bra during the Friends and Family event. She instead took me to Knickers for a professional bra fitting. The store owner took the time to bring me many different bras to try. I ended up purchasing the same Wacoal bra I normally wear but in the proper size (smaller band size, larger cup). Very limited style selection, and most bras are just basic beige or black - worse than a department store. Extremely limited sizes, nothing larger than a 36C, so larger busted women are ignored. Almost all lounge and sleepwear were only available in small or extra small. Also, even though the Freya site lists this store as a vendor, they have none in stock. Do these people actually want to sell anything? Definitely not worth the trip! read more

Words are not enough to express how much I love this place.. Everytime i have visted this place my shoping experience has been more than perfect. The staff are always genuinely nice (not the usually sale pitch that you get a huge retailers) but they really do go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your purchase.. The store is rather small but personally that makes the shopping experience even more personal and intimate knowing I am their main focus. The price range really does vary.
