Spray head broke off the faucet on my kitchen sink this morning. I called Kniese's first thing and was told that they were booked solid until next Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving.) The person answering the phone was very understanding and we arranged an after hours emergency call for that same day. Imagine my surprise when I got a call at 10:00 AM informing me that the plumber was on his way. The plumber (Carter) arrived , evaluated the situation, and made the repair quickly, efficiently and cleanly. In fact, the repair was much less expensive than expected. Thanksgiving saved! So my hot water heater died today, March 3, 2021, at the tender age of 4 years. I went to the basement and found water leaking from every connected pipe and seal from the top of the water heater. I called Kniese's immediately at about 1:45 p.m. A team of two was at my door by 2:30 p.m. They were loading the old hot water heater into their van to leave at exactly 3:30 p.m. The two guys were polite, efficient and respectful of my home, my family, my dog and this COVID world we live in. All of which was appreciated. They worked quickly and quietly (like everyone else, I work from home on numerous video calls all day long). I requested they install new shower/ tub plumbing which they did. I also asked them to check and fix my slowly filling toilet tank, which they did. I did not ask them pull my toilet and reinstall it. I have 2 wax rings and 1 flush handle in my storage area and now will be charged for both along with labor for a job I did not want. They used clear caulk around the base of the toilet. There must have been dirt from where the toilet sat. That was definitely not there earlier as I cleaned the floor prior to their arrival. So now I have visible filth covered with silicone. They ran a water hose to my toilet through my tile. Tile chips over the floor and no flange around the opening. Never again!~ read more

I needed a shut-off valve replaced and never had to use a plumber before so I was going by reviews. Glad I did. I e-mailed Kniese's, they emailed back right away requesting a picture of the valve, gave me an estimate and had someone out in a week. The guy who came was very nice and efficient. I expected a big chunk of my day ruined with this plumbing issue and I think he was in and out in about an hour. The price was lower than I expected too. Veteran's Day fell on a Saturday and our hot water heater burst, and the best thing that happened was that our regular plumber couldn't come out to replace it for a week. Kniese's Plumbing was selected somewhat randomly to come out and replace the water heater and also add an expansion tank. Priority scheduling of the same day service was an additional $100 (which was great!). Two guys arrived 20 minutes earlier than scheduled and had the new heater and expansion tank installed and the old crap removed within 3 hours. They were professional, knowledgeable, incredibly experienced and answered all our questions with the certainty of having done this dozens of times already. I had another plumber in here this morning for a shower that was running pretty heavily. He couldn't stop the water and told me he would come back with a part during the week. I had previously called Kniese's but we hadn't made contact because my phone was misbehaving. So the plumber from Kniese's shows up at my door unexpected, stops the running water, replaces the broken part, and goes as if it were nothing. They were recommended by a neighbor when I was thinking of a water softener. The service was excellent, on time, and polite. When I had an issue with the softener later, (the electric went out), the owner came to fix it and charged me half, as it was a simple fix. I have used this company several times now and I am forever a customer of theirs. Their emoloyees are competent, knowledgeable and professional. I recently had my hot water heater go bad, so I called and was told they would have it replaced that day no matter what time because I was a customer. They were out within 2 hours and had it replaced in no time. I used them for a sump pump and line issue. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. They fixed everything quickly and made the repair better than the original fixture. By the time I had called Kniese's (after getting good reviews from neighbors), I had already paid 2 different plumbing companies to try to fix a tub leak I was having. Both charged me a lot of money and the work they did didn't fix the problem. My mother has this 1940's American Standard (Standard Sanitary & American Radiator at the time of production) that she loves. The valve seat and washer gave up, and I know from past experience that plumber's are hesitant to take on this type of work because of the difficulty in getting parts and the likelihood that repair may ultimately be impossible. I started hunting for parts to no avail until I was referred to Kniese's twice. I was skeptical of contacting a plumbing supplier that also does plumbing work, because I assumed they would be more interested in repairing the sink themselves than selling me the parts I needed. Kniese's, however, was very helpful. They recommended that I add some teflon valve packing to the original packing washers and found valve seats that, although not identical, were close enough. Ultimately, I had to grind/dress the internal part of the sink that houses the valve seats after the first set were gouged and failed to seal. I want back to Kniese's and they remembered me (or the unusual faucets) and sold me another set of seats. They were never condescending nor pushed to let them do the work themselves. No one provided better customer service for my problem and without their help I would still be hunting for parts. read more

I have to post this as a way to say thank you for such great service. I called Kniese's today (3/12/15) at around 9am about a sump pump issue. I'm thrilled to say that, on a very wet day with all the snow melt in the area, I had a new pump installed before noon. From the moment I made contact, the customer service was superior. I have a very old house with very old plumbing. When the tub drain sprung a leak, I called every plumber I could find. The first two looked at it for 15 minutes and left with no idea how to fix it, telling me that they'd be back to essentially take out all the vintage fixtures and have the plumbing overhauled if they couldn't find replacement parts. Kniese's came in, and within 10 minutes, got to work and fixed it perfectly in an hour, using parts in his van, while maintaining the vintage fixtures. Awesome experience. We moved to the Doylestown area roughly 9 months ago. One afternoon our well pump stopped working, leaving us without water. After receiving a few recommendations from neighbors, we called Kneise's. Wayne responded to our call and was very prompt in identifying and correcting the problem (pump controller and, thankfully, not the pump). He was courteous, professional and highly knowledgeable--even offering recommendations on ways to improve the performance of the water treatment systems previously installed by others. My experience gave me the overall impression that Kneise's is honest and fairly priced. We have just had a service call from Ed, a great, knowledgable and friendly plumber of Kniese's who spent a hard few hours on three plumbing problems. Replacing a laundry room sink was hard enough, but he then had to replace a foreign made faucet in the kitchen. None of the parts fit his tools and many were corroded. Ed did these jobs professionally and well. We then threw another, unexpected, problem at him -- a bathtub plumbing job -- and there was hard work at that too. In all this Ed kept his friendly manner and the job was done perfectly. He even gave advice on a backup septic pump also added to his list. Ed knew the small techniques that solved problems we would have given up on. Quite obviously we will go back to Kniese's and I can certainly understand the enthusiasm others have in their reviews. I had/am having the worst service imaginable with this company. We had a simple job that should have taken 2 days it has now been two months and it still is not finished. They show up whenever they want without always letting me know i need to be home and awake. (I work overnight so i really need a warning) Also every time they have come they broke something else in the bathroom!
