I'm impressed by Knife City Outlet. Knives fall into three categories for me: those used for food; those used as a general-purpose tool; and those used for self-defense. Those useful for one category rarely are useful for others in my experience. Those used for food include those used for hunting and fishing, and those which are suitable for food prep. Knife City Outlet has a wide variety of knives which are useful to the hunter and fisherman alike, especially those used to dress game animals. I have purchased two on prior visits. I only utilize two difference knives for self-defense: the dagger and karambit -- and I have my favorites, on occasion replacing the former when I'm passing through the area. For me, I find that the knives I most often purchase here are those I use as general-purpose tools around the house or when camping (as I'm an airline pilot, I can't carry them at work). Many choices -- both fixed blades and folders. Many people buy a knife and find that they're unhappy with it, usually because of cheap construction, materials, or crappy metal used for the blade: it's not the store's fault that someone chose to buy a cheap knife. Talk about a great selection of cutlery, probably the best I've seen in ages. You walk in and get welcomed. The lady behind the counter made sure that I knew she'd be ready if I needed to look at anything. It took a while to look over their giant inventory. I should have had markers because my selections were in multiple spots. I asked to compare a couple of items and was shown what I wanted, did my comparison and made my choice. The lady even made certain that my boxes were not the open ones. Then I asked about another specific item and she went right to it and I took that too. Great service, and its in about the right place to get out of the car for some walking about on the way back from Albuquerque NM. I needed to stretch my legs and had some fun doing it. You look around and can see some decent pricing and the rest you just look at. I'd shop there again the next time I'm passing this way. What a fantastic facility and a must visit for knife aficionados. I've always wanted to stop over the years (always short on time) but had some time today. I was amazed at the selection of top tier knives from premier manufacturers with many hard to find and limited release models. I really enjoyed chatting with the proprietor...she was extremely knowledgeable on the range of models I inquired about. Love the spyderco para 3 and found one in a color way I love and at a great price. Look forward to stopping in next time I'm on I40. And with her forthcoming gas station this will cover two bases. Wonderful stop! The gentleman working was such a knowledgeable, friendly person. They have a HUGE selection and it is most definitely a worthwhile stop. Very extensive display of knives. This place had decorative, collectibles, miniatures, outdoor types and more. Section for self defense. Also had gifts such as T-shirts, mugs, key chains, shot glasses and more. Quite pricy compared to online but a physical store is a must to compare things like the weight or quality. I also like to support local businesses whenever possible. The taco truck was the sleeper hit for me. We had just eaten breakfast when we got to the store but I couldn't resist the smell of fresh REAL tacos. So I ordered only 1 taco. The lady in the truck seemed a bit annoyed but I put myself in her shoes and I brushed it off. She brought my taco order into the store as my hubby was still browsing around. After purchasing, we headed towards our destination and started eating the taco- I was extremely sad that I didn't order more. It was so delicious. The homemade fresh tortilla ... the sauce that came with it..... it brought the whole thing together. I usually order extras of everything. But we were on a long road trip and I didn't want to keep much food around- especially highly perishable and potentially messy foods around. Boys & their toys.. pretty cool place to shop! Passing by on our way to Colorado & can't really miss this place as it's a giant building, sort of in the middle of nowhere, w/ a GIANT sign saying "KNIFE CITY." Naturally my 12 y/o begged to stop & look, so we did. What an awesome selection... you could easily spend an hour here just admiring the selection. Everything from pocketknives to all sorts of swords to Chinese throwing stars & really elaborate, almost works of art knives... a truly amazing selection. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Normally I wouldn't buy things like this for how expensive it was, but being on vacation, I was able to talk myself into it. I bought my son a samurai sword, which he loves & practices with often (he's a purple belt in martial arts), as well as a shuriken (Chinese throwing star) & I bought the knife in the attached picture... made all my friends & neighbors at home jealous (but I haven't/won't tell my wife what I spent on it... $500). Although I was sort of upset with myself the next day for buying such an expensive knife, I showed it to my son's martial arts instructor & he was in awe... said the brand produces very high quality knives, so at least I didn't buy some junker piece that just looked cool. Well, Yelp reviews of this place are ACCURATE. DON'T STOP HERE! I pulled in today to buy a knife and have one sharpened. Initially I was told that sharpening wasn't available because she was alone in the store. Seconds later she backtracked and said she'd do it. My knife was sharper BEFORE I handed it to her. She was on the phone most of the time I was in the store. I did see something I wanted to buy but all the Trump decorations further let me know that my money didn't matter. Store was cool and there was an almost overwhelming selection. Just about anything you could imagine. I went ahead and bought a few things. They were kind enough to let me use the restroom. Regarding prices, the posts are accurate, I bought a knife that retails for $79.07 on Ka-Bar's website for $104 in the store. I didn't look at the other ones we bought. That said, it's a unique store and it's nice to be able to go in to a retail place and touch things before you buy them. Places have to make money. read more

Buyer's beware!!! I wish I would have looked at yelp reviews before I purchased a knife from this business. If I could give zero stars, I would because they do not deserve any. The previous yelp review was dead on. The business owner as he calls "a lady" is no different than a street thief. I went to a local gun show and purchased what I thought was a $475 dollar knife. When I went home and carefully removed the sticker that was concealing the knifes manufactures part number, I learned that the knife was in fact valued at only $275. The value of $275 came from not just an online website it was the manufactures MSRP!!! I was told I could return/exchange this knife and when I returned the following day to do so "this lady" refused. This place is a little slice of heaven!! Yes they have the cheap Chinese shit like everyone else but then you walk past that into wonderland!! Side opening, front opening, hard use knives, microtech, ESE, customs, straight razors (SICK HANDMADE). The owner is very knowledgable and more than happy to let you fondle all your favorite tools. We've driven past this place several times on trips to Arizona and New Mexico, but this time we decided to stop in. What a selection! We've got more knives​ than​ Carter has pills, but I made the mistake of asking the owner (didn't catch her name) what she recommended. She showed me a Benchmark knife that was clearly superior to the knife it replaced, which itself was clearly superior to the three knives that had preceded​ it. Her recommendation was spot-on. These guys had a lot of billboards on the highway so I decided to take a look. I do have to say, the amount of knives they have would make anyone drool. But the more I looked, the more something seemed very off. I ended up buying a tactical pen for $35 (which researching later, was "kinda" on par with market price) then I continued to look around and spotted knives I already own....A kershaw I bought for $22 was priced at $60?....a Platnium series that sell cheap $15 products...for $32?... An espada that usually sells in the $270 range at nearly $500?? What adds to the insanity is the web prices and store prices are nothing alike so they clearly are suckering tourist. I stopped at this store on my RV trip from NY to Ca. Nowhere in my life have I seen so many greay knives! Sure they're a bit overpriced but the owner lady haggles. That's half the fun of buying a knife here! The other half is seeing 1000's of knives in person and being able to fondle them to your hearts content. You can;t do this online folks. I called the lady at the store and asked if they had the knife that was advertised on their website for 20% off so I could purchase it and she said yes she has plenty of then so I stopped in 20 minutes later as I passed through and she refuses to sell the advertised knife even as it's advertised on the website as clearance item and was only 30$ off to the regular price where every other store sells it for there sale price on the daily. She said the company would be mad if she slid it for that price. They sell there knives for 50-60 Dollars more than other shops such as bass pro or cabelas, they have an incredible knife selection ive purchased 4 knives from their store but after this blatant false advertisement ill just stick to cabelas or other hunting stores for my gear. read more

I have collected and hand made knives for 25 years. Had been searching for a Buck 110 automatic. She had a stack of 'em. I fondled several different models. Bought two. The owner was a very nice lady that took the time to talk with us. My wife purchased her very own, first folder and we were given a great price on it and all of the other items that we purchased..
