They asked us what we like to cook, what we already have, and what would be the most useful for us. After they made a few suggestions, we picked what we liked best. When we left, we felt very confident in our purchase decision. We ended up with a knife for chopping veggies, one for doing a bit of finer work (ahem, removing skin from a peach for my 9 month old), and a bread knife (seriously, I didn't realize you don't need to smoosh bread every time you slice it). It is such a joy to have these new tools in our kitchen! We've also had a few of our knives sharpened -- I would highly recommend Strata for this service. It's not worth using dull knives!!

Today is Sat and I used both this afternoon. They cut like a hot knife thru butter. Clean cuts with no tearing of the hedges which was happening before I had them sharpened. I paid a $30 premium on a knife, over Amazon and other e-retailers, because of the customer service experience.
