We desperately needed to have my fiancé's pants tailored for our wedding and were starting to panic at how close to our wedding we were. We both began calling tailor shops and I got lucky enough to call Donatelli's. He was SO incredibly nice and told us to come in on his next business day, guaranteeing the pants would be done by our wedding day. Not only did I have a great experience on the phone but my fiancé left the shop swearing he would never go to another tailor again. The service here is brisk and efficient. Not a lot of chit-chat, so things move quickly. The work is high quality, and it is done quickly. I had my pants cuffed and some other minor alterations and it was priced fairly. I saw others getting more significant tailoring of suits and wedding dresses, so clearly they can handle more complex demands. read more

Incredibly disappointing. These are quite simply amateurs here, regardless of how long they e been open historically, the current owners are not serious about their work. Dropped off several pieces for a wedding to be pressed - ya know, something that if you're a competent tailor takes maybe a few hours? They lazily have it back to us in a full week, and it did not even come on plastic or a bag. I don't even think they did anything and actually added a stain. I know this isn't nyc, but wow this place wouldn't last if anyone is actually looking for quality service. Maybe also learn to answer a phone or be responsible professionals, such as noting correct names and items. read more

As a woman who is rising in my career and looking to buy a timeless, sustainable, and professional wardrobe, I did not think Donatelli's was the shop for me. After a brief conversation with the man at the sewing machine, I get the impression that he does not appreciate business from young women. During our conversation he: 1. Contemptuously asked me if I bought my dress online. I didn't. It was C&C, and it was 100% linen. 2. When I showed him the dress he said "what am I supposed to do with this?" when I said "I don't know, I don't sew, that's why I called you" he said "well pretend you can sew. What am I supposed to do with this?" 3. I asked if I could have a linen dress custom made and he scoffed and said that it's tough to do for women because "their clothing changes every month. Blue is in, then green is in. I can't keep up." 4. He used the word "trendy" no less than 7 times. Keeping in mind that I brought in a pale blue linen dress. Pretty classic, not at all trendy. 5. He said that women are buying linen because "it's in this season." I guess he doesn't realize that women might like linen because it's cool when the sun is hot. 6. Even the mask I bought is clearly designed for a man with a giant head. It's way too big. How hard is it to make unisex masks? What I had asked for was for a linen dress to be taken out. He explained that it's easier to take linen in. That was actually a good tip, so next time I come across a linen dress, I'll buy it a size too big and then take it to a different tailor. The woman who works at the shop is lovely, and I hope for her sake the man I spoke to wasn't her husband. read more
