I had Lee come out to rekey the locks for a house I had just purchased. 5 doors and it cost me over $3000. No kidding! He told me the locks on the doors were low quality and unsafe and asked if I wanted to go up a level. I said yes. My bad that I didn't ask what that would cost, but he never offered that it was a prohibitive amount either. When he handed me the invoice I was aghast. Over $3000! On top of that, he told me the door from the garage to the house was not up to code so it wasn't rekeyed. I had the inspector come out and he showed us it was up to code. I wasn't about to have Lee come back out for another $600 or $1000 to rekey that door, so now it's keyed differently than all of the other doors. I gave him a chance to fix this mess, but no response. Buyer beware. Ask for prices upfront and don't be oversold by this man. In response to the owner...I emailed him on June 27th regarding the issues once the home inspector had been out and waited for well over a week for him to respond. I would have preferred to resolve this with him rather than giving him a bad review. Unfortunately, he never responded. His response to my review is not correct. I was never given a quote on any of the lock sets. I admit I should have asked for prices, but it never occurred to me it would be over $3,000 to "go up a level" in his words for 5 lock sets on 5 doors. I have been communicating directly with him since writing this review. He initially indicated in his Yelp response (now rewritten) that he offered to come back for free and do the 6th door. But when I asked him to do that, he refused. In his initial response on Yelp he claimed the $3000+ I paid was for 6 lock sets but when I posted the invoice showing it was actually for 5, he corrected his post. He has threatened me with legal action for posting a poor review of his business instead of offering to figure out how to make this right. I just know that when I owned my business for 20 years, this is not how I treated an unhappy customer. read more

After having a bad experience with the last locksmith I used, I decided to look for one on Yelp. From Yelp I was directed to Knight Safe & Lock's website. I then looked up the UBI# on the Washington State Department of Revenue website. Lee was prompt, worked fast, and was very informative about using Google as a search tool for professionals. He showed me all of the fake businesses that came up at the top of the search. These are usually detectable because of the great deals that are on offer. Fake locksmiths have been a real problem, swindling a lot of people, including myself. About a month ago we had to have all the locks in our home changed after someone broke in to our car and stole our keys. I called Knight Safe & Lock and they came out the next day! They were quick, efficient and very professional. Since then the front door was having some issues opening, so I called back thinking it had to so with the new lock that was installed. My mistake, the wood door had contracted in this dry weather and the spring latch was catching. Knight Safe & Lock did not hesitate to help me.
