I was excited to support the local high school's madrigal performance--they were a 5 star act--but the supporting dinner around it was not what I imagined from the Metropolis. 1st service was mulled cider and 2 people at our table were missed so my boyfriend had to flag someone down to get the last 2 mugs filled. (The cider itself was delicious!) The tomato soup and bread course was good, although the soups were served at the same table at varying temperatures. I ordered the chicken for our party of 4 and that was pretty good. I did hear a high school student at the head table ask his parents if they could stop at Culver's on the way home because his chicken was not cooked. The dessert was pretty good, although I do not remember what it is by now. The soft drinks were grab and go cans laid out on the bar over ice. I had no problem with that choice, it was just a little unclear at first if the cans were included with our ticket or not. The coat check staff was quick and efficient. As someone who is not married yet, I had always thought about the Metropolis Ballroom as a possible venue, but after my latest experience, I would probably not consider them in the future.

We had 140 guests, but the venue definitely could have fit more! We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the same place which was so nice that our guests did not need to travel! The bridal suite and grooms room were both at the venue as well which was so convenient! What really set this venue apart from the others was the team. Rachel Herrera was our Event Producer and she was absolutely amazing. From start to finish she was great to work with! We booked our venue a year out and she was extremely organized, responsive with her email replies, accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. She provided great insight and suggestions to help ensure our day was as successful and wonderful as it was. On the night of our wedding, Rachel was onsite and as supportive as ever! She also had a Banquet Captain, Mauricio, who was fantastic to work with. Guests are still raving about how great the food was. We were so pleased with the presentation and the quality of the food! We could not be happier with Metropolis and the team that helped create and execute our wedding. We are forever grateful and we would highly recommend this venue and their team to anyone!

Fortunately, the building is very distinct and is easy to spot. Inside the building the lobby is nice and big with two entrances to main event room. The main event room is large and perfect for a wedding, reunion, party, or a wrestling match. The lighting had a blue hue to it and I had trouble hearing anything over the public address system. The bathrooms are nice is not a bit small for the capacity that could be there. Overall, I had a really nice time and would attend another event at Studio One Events.

I visited this newish event space for the first time this past weekend for a bat mitzvah. I know…read morefrom looking for venues for my own kids that it can be difficult to find event space in the North Shore, but I thought this was a good one. We had cocktail hour in the lobby area when you first walked in and the kids were downstairs for their cocktails and speeches. We then walked into a spacious room where the party (dancing, food stations, photo booth etc) took place. The coolest thing about this venue is that it has a ton of screens on the walls that you can use to display a logo, animations, live stream what's happening on the dance floor (good way for me to spy on my daughter this past weekend :)). It was also the best viewing of a photo montage I've seen thanks to all the screens. The catering this weekend was from Marchellos (for appetizers, adult buffet and kids plated meals) so I do believe you you have to bring in our own food. I'm not sure if you have to rent tables/chairs, which I know from planning events, can be pricey so that would be a good question to ask if considering. While they didn't have valet at the event we attended there is a large parking garage next to it for 300 cars. It was a great spot for the celebration we attended this weekend so definitely worth checking out if looking for something in the North Shore.

The food was served cold and they ran out of the ordered dinners. They brought out Cold rolls and frozen butter pats. I sat with the mother of the groom at table 2 and we were served last. JuneElise, Loft21's event manager, is EXTREMELY helpful in guiding you along the way to a seamless event...she will answer any question you have, and deliver professional results quickly and efficiently...we did not sense this level of customer support at any other venue we shopped. Her attitude is great and you won't be disappointed. Secondly, the HYPE staff is incredibly entertaining, and our dance floor did not stop until the lights went on...they hit every corner of the music we requested and the MC, Adam, kept the party moving like a Mac truck... it was awesome, and we still get complements to this day. Jazmine, the owner, was quite involved with our planning as well, as she owns both HYPE and Loft21...so if you use both, you enjoy a discount and she was very clear on how the combined package saved us tons of cash. I could go on...so why don't I? The atmosphere is so unique and stimulating... the bars are uber-modern with an industrial feel, the staff is incredibly well trained and friendly, the globo with your event logo shines on the wall, the preferred caterer they recommended was perfect (Marcellos!), the audio video incorporation is super cool, and we wished the night never ended!! Hence why Loft 21 is such a popular option for bar mitzvahs and other big events. If you have a 12/13 year old kid going thru the mitzvah circuit chances are you'll end up here. The venue itself is owned by Jazmine at Hype Productions. I haven't rented out Loft 21, but have hired Hype twice and been thrilled with everyone I"ve worked with over there so I"m guessing this is so exception. Jazmine is very on top of everything, which is perfect for my type A personality. While I highly recommend Hype for event production you can bring in others to the space. The bar mitzvah we attended this past weekend had Tenny from Flo as their MC. The space can easily be transformed and seems to work with any theme. And for those who don't want to go crazy with decor it's a pretty venue on it's own. They have a nice area upstairs for cocktails. People tend to congregate near the bar which can make it crowded so I recommend putting a food station (or extra bar) in the area separated off so that people spread out just a bit. This area also overlooks the ballroom so at the end of the cocktail hour they do a big reveal by showing the room down below, which is cool. The acoustics in the space aren't great and my biggest complaint is that I can't hear anyway near me while I"m there. I can also barely hear any speeches when I'm in the space. However, it works great for music, montages and anything else you need.

We were interested in the venue for our daughter's quinceañera, but it was extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone, let alone receive a callback. The only positive part of our experience was Raymundo, who was setting up the tables and buffet. He noticed us walking around and looking at the rooms, so he took the time to show us around and answer our questions. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. It is extremely disappointing that a venue this beautiful does not seem to prioritize customer service or potential clients.
