I am disappointed with the service at Knights Inn. I found the bathroom disgusting with live and dead bugs on the floor and bathtub. No towels were provided. The drain in the bathtub was not functioning correctly. The carpeting was dirty with what appeared to be cereal underneath the nightstand. Smoking at the bottom of the stairway was allowed. The smoke was disgusting and unbearable. The property is supposed to be smoke free but it was definitely not smoke free. Light switches in the bathroom were dirty and missing screws. Bobby pins were left in the bathroom floor which tells me the bathroom and carpets were not cleaned and vacuumed. I paid nearly $100.00 for this service. I will never return read more

DO NOT STAY HERE ! I lost over $300.00 for prepaid. The room smelt horrible. Like body fluid mixed with bleach. When you turned on the air conditioner it smelt like it was burning. The drain in the bathroom sink malfunctioned and you could not lock the door. THE DOOR DID NOT LOCK !!!! The thief working the front desk would not give me a full refund therefore I lost over $300.00 because AA only gives full refunds and not partial. So this stinky , dirty , unsafe and drain don't work motel hell made over $300.00 on someone that did not even stay there 5 minutes. Run away from this place !!!!! Sadly I had to give a star if I didn't have too I wouldn't of given a star. My husband, 2 of my kids and I came up for my daughters wedding. Needed a place asap since our other place fell through. We went into the room (thankfully before we took out stuff with us) and I searched their beds. My daughter and I found dead bedbugs on the beds. We turned around and left. We went and looked for another place to stay. Thankfully we found one. Not only did we find dead bed bugs this place is so run down and it stinks. We told the person at the front counter and he didn't care. All he said was that they just had the exterminator out last week and was told they didn't have any bugs. We were having issues with our truck so we needed a place to stay for the evening. I used Travelocity to book the room, the idiots booked to rooms and it took 45 minutes between the clerk and myself speaking to them before they cancelled the extra room. The clerk was awesome, he walked me outside and showed me where to park my truck and 5th wheel. I slept like a log and my puppies enjoyed being able to move around the room. I stayed 3 nights on the second floor during June 2021. The accommodations were great for the value. I was fortunate to walk in and get a room w/o a reservation. Be mindful, like all hotels, they do not provide breakfast or cleaning rooms(this may have changed due to Covid)They do provide coffee. The parking lot was safe and well light. I do appreciate the brights lights and the quiet area. The antique store next door was a treat to visit and the gas station across the street had everything, so close to the casino as well. read more

This review is only for the Hotel. I was camping on the Rim on 7-20-19. My girlfriend came to visit me, but could not find me. She had no cell service, to contact me. She did the smart thing, to go back to Payson, and get a hotel. She then was able to get a hold of me, and I told her to go to the Mazatzal. She only had her drivers license, because we where camping. I said just go to the front desk, and I will give them my credit card, and you can give them your drivers license. My girlfriend handed her phone to the front desk lady, the lady said to have me call her on the land line. Mind you, my girlfriend was in a panic from driving in the dark for so long. Anyways so I called. I explained the story, and the lady said she did not care! She said she has to make an imprint of my credit card. I calmly explained the story again, and she yelled at me. Now imagine you had a great weekend planed out to visit your boyfriend, and you got lost in the dark "she is not use too", no cell service, and your only hope is to drive back to Payson to find a warm bed to sleep in. Then you find a woman at the front desk that just yells at you for no reason. Instead of helping, and resolving the situation. This took place at 8:30pm on 7-20-19. Now I'm sure some people are asking why I did not go to Payson to help my girlfriend. Well I was camping in a motor home. It takes two hours to pack up, and I clearly need to see the dirt/rocky road that I'm driving on not to damage the motor home. I would love to give a shout out to the Knights Inn in Payson. Thank you for helping us out. My girlfriend was greeted by a friendly staff member. Then escorted to her room. The staff was friendly. Clean and safe room. If I could give this hotel/ motel zero stars I would. Pulling into the parking lot looked like a third world country. Undesirables wandering the parking lot, what appeared to be drug deals going on, people camped in the parking lot, trash everywhere. With no rooms anywhere in town we reluctantly purchased a room. Walking to our room we had to step over what looked like homeless people camped in the hallway. Entering our room was shocking! Not clean, beds looked as if not laundered, place smelled horrible, black mold in the bathroom, etc etc! We turned around and returned to the front desk asking for a refund which she refused telling me I'd need to contact the corporate. Long story short I was never given a refund. Last minute booking in order to spend some time on top of the rim. Room was clean and the beds comfortable. It's kind of no frills type of place that suited us because we just needed a place to shower and sleep. Bathroom was a bit small and the toilet not very comfortable for me. ( I am a large person). A group of us were headed north to camp for the weekend and blew a tire on our trailer. We had 5 adults, a child and 3 dogs and needed a place to stay for the night until we could get a new tire. Every hotel in Payson was booked. Knights Inn was very accommodating with finding space for all of us, including the dogs and a place to park all of our trucks and trailers within a short amount of time. The rooms are not in the best shape but the management was extremely helpful! We were very grateful!! read more

Booked a room here on hotels.com and it's supposed to be a set price i get here at almost 12 am with my children and the douche clerk wanted to charge more because we are more than one person even though the room was booked for 4 people!!! He sh-ed me when i was trying to show him the booking and was extremely rude!!! The room is filthy! Towels smelled like dust and no soap!!! I chose this motel for the price and location. I was aware of the mediocre reviews, but am retired and frugal. The phone convo with Kelly was delightful. She was professional and readily met my needs. I'm familiar with the hotel and it's need for a facelift, but I was after comfort, location, and cost. Knight's Inn met all 3! Everyone I encountered was masked and social distancing. My room was very clean and modern, with a fridge and a microwave, big TV with HBO and Showtime. The king bed was firm and comfy and the fluffy pillow were great...all 6 of them! I didn't require the spacious desk, but the office chair was comfortable. The A/C worked perfectly and I had a quiet, cool night's sleep every night of my stay. I will happily stay here again! RE: the needed reno, I was told that they're having difficulty finding and maintaining a construction crew. In this time with so many people out of work, it is disheartening to discover that they can't even find a reliable team to assist. read more

I had been camping on the Rim for about 3 weeks and wanted to stay a couple nights get a shower and relax before starting the next leg of my journey and stayed at the Knights Inn in Payson. It was really perfect for what I wanted and needed. It isn't a resort but it is a good solid safe place to rack for a few nights. Clean and like other reviews have stated the bed was comfortable and the staff really are wonderful hard working people. The man at the desk gave me some good info about some stuff I needed to find in Payson and other business people, when I mentioned I was staying here, all spoke so highly of the managers here. And to me that says a lot more than anything else. That they run a good clean business and other business owners and locals respect them. I will stay here again. read more

My review is solely based on pulling into the parking lot. Drove over to meet some friends. In the parking lot they have all the replaced toilets stacked out for all to see. Trash all over the parking lot. Diapers, baby bottle, dumped fast food items etc. We were looking for a place to stay in Payson for the weekend and I think this place was close to $200 per night. Glad we didn't choose this dump. This hotel looks more like a place that would rent by the hour. Get your area cleaned up!!! read more

We just stayed at the Knights Inn last weekend and I was a bit Leary after reading the previous reviews and having less than stellar experiences at other Knights Inns in Phoenix. We were there for the rodeo, so this was the only place with a vacancy. I must say, they must have cleaned up, because we had a very good nights stay. The lobby and rooms were very clean and the air conditioning worked awesome. The hotel is old. They have upgraded the lobby a little and the beds/linens seem to be pretty new as well. The rooms had a refrigerator, microwave and flat screen tv that all worked fine. Only problem was that the went enough outlets, so we had to unplug the refrigerator in order to use the microwave, but the outlet was right there and the swap was no problem. Staff was very friendly and helped us find some good restaurants and direct us to the rodeo. Coffee was always ready in the lobby. Biggest distraction is that the outside is still a bit weathered and could use some updating and paint. Bathrooms are old too but clean and work fine. Lets face it, this is a budget place, so you're not going to have the fanciest accommodation. No frills, but a great place to sleep and right in the best part of town of you are going to the rodeo or want to just walk to "downtown" Payson. read more

Stay was horrible especially for the price room smelled dead flys everywhere air conditioning didn't work and when I said something they had maintenance come look he told me it just needed to run longer seriously!!!! Upon doing my normal search for bedbugs one of the mattress had a huge pee stain on it then I accidentally left my charger plugged in after I checked out went back to get it later after I realized I didn't have it and it was gone but hadn't been turned in. Awful. If I could give it zero stars, I would. It was filthy. The walls had filth dripping down them. The bathroom door knob was broken and you could see through the doorknob hole into the bathroom from the outside. They advertise smoke-free but it reeked of smoke and there was visible tar on the walls of the room. Also, the linens had cigarette burns in them. The fridge in the room didn't work. The beds were made with flat sheets only (instead of a fitted sheet on the mattress) so they came off in the night and the mattress was exposed. It was a complete rip-off for the money I paid. I would have expected that level of "quality" for at least half of what I paid. I will NEVER stay here again and will tell everyone I know to steer clear! read more

We have stayed at the Knights Inn twice now. Both times the grounds were clean and the potted plants added a lot of welcome color. The suite was very spacious and clean. The lobby has a rack of pamphlets that invite you to the sites/attractions around the area. The staff are so welcoming and are available to help with any needs. We'll DEFINATLY return again !! After a long day of driving from Albuquerque, NM headed home, we decided to stop for the day and resume the next day. We stopped in to see if there was a room available. There was, and asked for a ground floor room and got it!!! Score, again. Got into the room, to find a microwave and a mini fridge!! Again, score!!! We were so thankful that both beds were so comfortable and melted into them. The room was clean, the linens clean and crisp, and the bathroom was spotless. The next morning, went the 10 steps to the lobby to find copious amounts of fresh brewed coffee and condiments available to top off our well rested night!! We highly recommend staying with the very attentive hosts at this inn. read more

Please, do not book a room here! I understand, you want to enjoy a getaway in Payson and the only place left with a room is Knights Inn, so, you decide to take that chance. Please, do not do it. If Nothing is available except this place, then you're better off going somewhere else or staying home. This place was not only unkept at all, but unhygienic and unsafe for our child. OK so we found this on the Internet and decided to call to see if it was cheaper called and the guy said that he had three rooms left and we said do you want us to buy on the Internet or buy it from you now he said no worries just buy it when you get here will save a room for you that's $140 a night we told him we are at an hour out by the time we got there they had only 1 room room left with three beds that was $189 so they never saved a room for us like he stated. read more

When my husband walked across it barefooted I noticed the bottom of his feet were black, the bedding was stained, there was a piece of toilet paper sticking through the peep hole on the front door to our room. Stayed in a Smoking room because it was the only room in town available due to weekend special events (softball tournament and fair). Went to local Walmart to purchase disinfectant items, sprays and candles. Walls were super yellow, ants by the ac wall unit and some on the bed. Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. read more

The room is so old the furniture is covered in burn marks. The bed is old, flat and lumpy, with the very old cotton pad under the sheet, that immediately forms a giant wad under my left hip. The pillows are tiny and flat, who knows how old. The refrigerator does not function, which someone was aware of, as it was unplugged. The room is dirty and took hours to cool down on arrival. This place is overpriced and overdue for a convenient fire.. consider your other options first! read more

Nasty, the worst hotel in Payson hands down. We are talking total dive hotel. The owners just sit in the office and play on the computer and NEVER clean. Even the fake plants are full of dust. It's absolutely dirty gross. Run far away, this Hotel is filthy dirty. You'll want to die when you pull up and realize this is your hotel. Bugs everywhere. Door locks do not work. Dust everywhere. I do not understand the low rating for this motel. It must be people that were here before their remodeling rooms. This was the least expensive (and ONLY) motel with a last minute. I was happy to find ANY room at such late notice in peak season on a weekend, but I was blown away by the room! First off the front desk staff were kind and helpful, nothing like walking into a smile and a welcome. Even in such a tight reservation schedule, I was given a room that completely met my needs. Then directly on opening the door to my room I was greeted by a clean fresh scent. Not a hint of smoke or pet odors. Beautiful bedding and a very nice room with many amenities not available at more expensive hotels. The fridge had a separate freezer which is a MAJOR plus in the middle of summer! The microwave was actually full size that cooks in the allotted time and not twice as long as some low wattage that I have seen in much more expensive rooms. I made this reservation last minute through Expedia, and OH how I wish I had just done it directly. The hassle of a middleman with literally NO difference in price from calling direct and getting EXACTLY what you are told by actual motel staff is NOT worth it! This is not only a great budget motel for emergencies or an inexpensive getaway, but it is something I would be proud to set up for family coming to visit and save half of the money for fun. This is such a hidden gem! No it is not an all inclusive resort, but you get more than your money worth here! I will take a friendly staff and a clean room over just about anything, but tonight, I have it all.... Good night! read more
