The Ymca is excllent place to excercise. The equipment is modern and well matintained. There are…read moreplenty of free weights and machine so you don't lose valuable time waiting. Should you visit, and I hope you will, you'll find a facility that is clean and helpfull stafff personnel. you owe it your body to vist the Y and take advantage of the fine classes that are available. If your are a senior citizen on medical care, your membership is paid through Medicare. Trainers and coaches are available and will walk you through workouts. In the near future, I intend to use the Olympic size pool weekly. That is something I haven't beeen able to do since college. So, just don't sit, Get up, Get out, and come on down to the next day of the rest of your life. The journey begins with you first step.

Although I prefer the updated locations for these a bit better, I will still visit this location when I'm in the area. Overall the gym is clean as you would expect and fairly quiet. When I moved to Cookeville, I knew I wanted to join a gym. It was around the first of the year so…read moreobviously I had to include it into my New Years resolution. After my boyfriend and I compared the different membership packages that they had, we went with the $10 a month option for both of us. Great deal, right? Especially since I'm only here for 6 months, I knew I didn't want to break a 1 year contract with the black card option, although they do have more perks. Keep in mind that if you choose the $10 membership package, in the month of March they charge you for a yearly membership fee, so you pay a total of $42.80 (tax included). So far so good. I've gone during peak hours (4:30-7:30 pm ish) and slow hours (after 10pm) and the crowd is always changing. They have tons of workout machines and I've seen 3 new ones since I've been going. But, keep in mind they have smith machines vs free weights (the reason for the 4 vs 5 star), so if this isn't your preference, then move on and pay more for another gym membership! haha. Also, the staff here is wonderful, especially Kelley. Shout out to our favorite Planet Fitness employee! :)
