They are truly some of the most dishonest people I have ever encountered. They will try to take advantage of you and exploit your lack of knowledge. I had never gotten into an accident before, and they took full advantage of that. I went through insurance, insurance didn't want to cover everything, and knockout refused to budge. They already had my car and wouldn't let me take it back without paying over $2,000 in storage fees. In all, I ended up paying knockout about $1,500 out of my own pocket to finally get my car back. After searching for local repair shops, I chose Knockout Collision Repair. From the very first call, I was treated with confidence and care. Founder and CEO Kareem Abouzeid personally assisted me in preparing an estimate, which took about an hour. He shared both good and not-so-good news: the team could complete the repairs quickly, but the headlight kit was on backorder and wouldn't arrive before we had to head back to San Diego. Despite that setback, Kareem generously offered to adjust the fender & remove the dangling mudflap at no charge so I could use the driver's side door. Went way over budget and what insurance would pay according to existing guidelines that both auto collision company 's and insurance companies are GUIDED BY. Now they will not release the unless we pay $2400 out of pocket plus "$150 storage" I can't Pay. Because my insurance company balked at the price, they wanted and because they would not pay right away, the office manager called our lender saying we have no auto insurance and could they come repossess it. My understanding is the office Manager and owner are having "pillow talk" and laughing how they extort people for money!!! Take your car elsewhere and avoid the drama. We are still negotiating and refusing to pay and they haven't actually tried the mechanics lien. read more

Wow, I can't recommend Knockout enough. I was rear ended in my 2021 Honda HRV and very stressed about how to deal with insurance and get the decent amount of damage fixed. I'm so glad I went to Knockout because Trey and Nina helped me work through all of it, starting with explaining the insurance claim process. This was my first accident and first time dealing with all of this and they were such a massive help. Trey was awesome and worked with me the entire time and he went above and beyond explaining the process, my options and communicating back and forth with the insurance company to receive the proper amount they owed. I was in the loop the entire time and received a very prompt response regardless of if I texted, emailed or called. After about 2.5 weeks in their shop I just picked up my HRV and it truly is as good as new. I was confident this would be the quality they were providing after that whole process but to see it actually there with the giant scratch, missing paint and dent completely vanished is pretty amazing. I filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair about these guys. Back in November, another driver hit the back of my bumper while my car was in a parking lot, they were cool though and left their contact information. I was able to trade insurance information with them, and took my car into get worked on by people at Knockout. I thought they were a legit auto body shop based on the fact that they do not have an overall low rating on YELP. I should have read more recent reviews of their business practices. When I dropped the car off, I had to agree to sign for repairs that the insurance company didn't cover. I thought, "OK, I'm not at fault. The other person's insurance company should pay for everything." Right? Wrong. I ended up paying $653.73 to get my car back from Knockout. The reason I ended up having to pay this amount is because Knockout chooses to charge more for materials and labor than other businesses in the area which exceed costs set by California Department of Insurance. For example: Body Labor usually costs about $90 per hour, at Knockout $105 per hour; Mechanical Labor is set at around $120 per hour, at Knockout $140 per hour. They also choose to use more expensive parts when parts while cheaper parts that will work just as well as these are available. For example, they chose to use an OEM bumper ($273) while a capa bumper ($201) would have sufficed. Also there is the fact that they charged $125 for a carwash prior to beginning their work. I read this as costing $20. It wasn't until talking with Geico's adjuster that I understood that it was $125! Anyway, I was responsible for all of these extra fees. To be honest, I'm half tempted to post Geico's statement and Knockout's statement on here so people can see the comparison and how much Knockout price gouges. I would strongly advise that people steer clear of Knockout Collision Repair. They are completely manipulative and geared towards greed! read more

If I could give it a negative rating I would. Long story, but they completely and utterly screwed us over for $6,000 out of pocket and this is on an accident where the other party was 100% at fault. First mistake they made was to include existing damage on the estimate, even though we told them it was existing and shouldn't be on the estimate. This mistake on their part caused red flags and our claim was routed by the insurance company to the department for insurance fraud. This meant they were super picking about every little thing including the $150 car washes they had on there! Second, know that after they do the estimate for the insurance company (which they do not explain and which apparently a rep from Knockout told the insurance adjuster that people in N California weren't smart enough to understand) and you sign it so they can send it to the insurance company, you are giving them authorization to start on the repairs RIGHT AWAY before finding out if insurance will cover them. That same contract says YOU will pay the difference between the estimate and what insurance will cover. They did not make that clear and, stupid me, I actually trusted them. The minute the $7,400 estimate was signed to go to the insurance company, they started the repairs even though I told them multiple times I didn't want them to do anything that insurance didn't cover UNLESS it was a safety issue. Insurance covered $1,400 of it and I had to pay the balance. I had to put $6,000 into a car that was barely worth $6,000. Please do not go to them, save yourself a lot of money and drama. read more

Let me first start off by saying that I am not unhappy with their work. I am unhappy with their business practices. I work for a law firm across the street from them. My son got into an accident and because I have used them prior and sent our clients to this company, I felt like going to them again. I dropped the vehicle off and they were very friendly and i gave them my auto information. They called and emailed me the $10,000 + estimate and wanted me to sign a several page document via docu sign that stated I would be reliable if my auto insurance refused to pay for anything. I immediately called and said I was uncomfortable with that because no one had even heard from my auto company yet. I was worried that that figure would put me over the mark and they would total out my car. I was assured several more times that they haven't had any problems with dealing with insurance companies and not to worry. I actually called in and told them to just get my vehicle ready for pick up and I was taking it somewhere else...the office manager said that I would be charged for storage then if I did that because the vehicle was there for 30 days ( the 30 days it took for the estimate and for my insurance company to get there and do their estimate), which I totally could have come picked up the vehicle because it was drivable...yet i received no calls to come pick it up early and I would have if I had known that storage would have been charged. I agreed, still voicing my concerns that I would be responsible for any repairs, yet conceded because I didn't want to argue anymore with the manager. So issues started right away...after they started on my vehicle. The insurance company started calling me because no one from this business would call them back. I called Erin and she told me that I was responsible to get all documentation to my adjuster! I was shocked because dealing with auto bodies for the last 20 years I have never heard that one! I started including the adjuster and Erin in my emails so that that all parties where involved in the electronic conversation since she refused to call the adjuster. There were issues right away with what Knock out Collision where stating versus the insurance company...like I needed a whole new bumper but the damage was to the side of the car! The insurance company wanted to see the bumper...but they threw it away!! Lol how convenient. It went on like this for probably a good 2 months. When the final bill came out...I owed more than $3,600 000 than what my insurance paid because the auto body shop threw away the bumper and just flat out didn't care that the insurance had issues with their bill. I was able to come up with enough to get the vehicle released to me and I had to sign a promissory note to pay the remaining $1,800 or they would take possession of my 2016 Chevy Cruze. I was going to sue them in small claims court and turn them into the Bureau of Automotive Repairs. I think I will still call the BAR because I have all paperwork and emails from this company...the emails from my adjuster saying he asked over and over for documentation and never received it. The fact that they threw away "damaged" parts that the insurance company needed to see and verify it was caused from the accident which in return they slapped me with the remaining part of the bill. Shame on you Knockout Collision - as a local that believes in staying local with business...will have me thinking second thoughts about trusting anyone local. PLEASE READ!! Do not go here My partner and I were in an accident that pushed in the whole front of his truck in. We took it to Knockout to be repaired of all damages as per the insurance claim. We picked it up and they said all was working well. We pay over 10k for repairs and within a week the steering wheel was too stiff to drive safely. We call and ask for it to be looked at again since it had only been a week. We were told that all that was needed was a new idler pulley and it had nothing to do with the accident. We took it to another shop in town and they informed us that their were PARTS MISSING. It was missing 2 belts and a few other misc pieces. And that if we had continued drive it would have likely blown the motor. This is beyond negligent on behalf of the staff. I would not recommend this shop to anyone based on our experience with them. read more

Knockout grossly misrepresented their estimate procedures. My advice would be not to sign any paperwork with this company to receive a repair estimate, which they insisted upon. I was told that I could not receive an estimate for insurance purposes without signing an agreement. Further, I was told it would cost me $175 to complete the estimate and this would be returned if the work is carried out by Knockout. What they don't make clear is that by signing you have given them permission to tear your vehicle down, despite the fact I was verbally very clear that this was an estimate for getting two windows replaced and a cosmetic repair for two scratches. Essentially, the tear down involved removing multiple panels from my vehicle, which is not always covered by insurance nor was it discussed when I dropped off my vehicle. When I asked to pick my vehicle up and not carry out the work, they had already done the tear down and had incurred labor costs. On top of that I was told I would have to tow the vehicle at my own expense as it was in pieces and inoperable, and I would be charged a daily storage fee of $150/day. While I was clear that the only repairs I was interested in was the replacement of two windows and a cosmetic scratch, Knockout proceeded with a tear down leading to an "estimate" of $7,000 worth of work. When this was submitted to our insurance company they, quite rightly, denied the claim as it far exceeded what the repair should have cost. Insurance had estimated under $1,000 for the replacement of two windows. After much back and forth between myself, Knockout, and my insurer, my bill came to $1,900. Ultimately, I am deeply disappointed in Knockout. They misrepresented their procedures and were evasive with my insurance company and myself. read more

My car had damage to it's back side quarter panel when my husband ran into a short cement post in a parking lot. There was a pretty deep gash in the side but it was driveable. I took it to Knockout for an esitmate. Now, I am caught in between a dispute between my insurance company, Geico, and Knockout collision. Unfortunately, because Knockout knows Geico won't pay what they ask, Knockout asks the customer to sign an agreement to pay what the insurance company won't. I had no choice but sign the agreement to get my car repaired because Knockout said it was not moveable after their tear down to provide the estimate, even though the collision did not render the car immoveable. Their estimate came in extremely high and Geico refused to pay that amount. I assumed they would negotiate and resolve the issue. Instead they only paid their estimate total which was $1652+ less than what Knockout wanted. I had to pay the difference. I reported Geico to the insurance commission upon which I got a call from Geico to tell me to report Knockout to the Collision Repair Business Bureau, because they were charging excessive fees and passing it on to me. Geico claims Knockout overcharges. Insurance pays 90.00 for paint and body labor, Knockout charges $105; Insurance pays $33.39 p/h for paint and body and Knockout charges $55 ; insurance pays $120 for mechanical labor, Knockout charges $140. My suggestion, if anyone has Geico insurance, don't go to Knockout collision. You will end up paying what your insurance company doesn't. There are other shops in town who charge less and will negotiate with insurance. If I had known this before I took my car to Knockout, I would have $1,652 more in my bank account than I do now. I won't go back there again and I am getting a new insurance company. read more

We had heard good things about this shop so decided to give them a try after our niehbor accidentally backed into our sons truck. Pretty minor really, just a fender replacement. Three weeks later we picked it up. Seemed a little long for this job (no body work just spraying the new fender) but everyone is short staffed so really it was not a problem. What was an issue was the truck being delivered to me without any obvious quality control. The top gap on the fender between the hood and pillar was over a 1/4 inch high and was quite obvious immediately. Had I not been paying attention or had my wife picked up the truck we would have had to bring it back. They took the truck and fixed the gap same day. But that should not have made it past any sort of final inspection. I also had another odd incident with the shop that I won't go into but let's just say there is some lack of common sense here. Hope to not need any repairs anytime soon but if so I'll be trying out Concourse Elite. read more

Evaluation of Service at Knockout Collision Two panels of the passenger side of my Toyota Highlander were damaged because I hit a drainpipe. The car was totally drivable, but I wanted it to look good. I use the car to drive elderly friends to medical appointments so I was most interested in getting it repaired as promptly as possible. After getting four estimates from four collision repair businesses, I chose Knockout Collision. Even though their estimate was somewhat higher than the others, they said they could work me into their schedule the soonest. I even paid $500 so the parts could be purchased in advance and no time would be spent waiting for them. As arranged, I brought my car in December 14 and expected to get it back in one or two weeks. When I checked on the progress December 27, the car was still parked at the back of the parking lot, untouched. Furthermore, there was a sign on the window saying the business would be closed for a week's holiday, so it was more than three weeks before they even started working on it. It is evident that Knockout Collision knowingly mislead me about their availability to work on my car and how long it would take for me to get my car back in order to get my business. I called the owner and left messages twice, but he never returned my calls. When the car was finally repaired, there was a further delay because the person who handled insurance had not sent the insurance company the supplemental bill. The work on the car was done very well and the car was spotlessly clean when I received it, but I was without its use until January 17, a total of 35 days! The other companies I had gotten estimates from were honest about telling me that they were delayed because of lack of workers due to Covid slowdowns. Knockout was in the same situation, but they mislead me to get my business. read more

I recently took my car into Knockout Collision to have a parking lot ding repaired. I got an estimate, made all the necessary arrangements with my insurance company, and scheduled a date to take the car in. I was told that the repairs would take a week. I took the car in on August 3, 2021. On August 9, I called and asked about progress. Instead of getting a progress report, I was informed that I was never told that it would take a week because it was so difficult and time consuming for them to deal with insurance companies and arrange for all the parts needed for a repair. It would be a minimum of two weeks. This didn't seem rights considering that I had already made all the necessary arrangements with my insurance carrier and there were no parts needed because it was only a PARKING LOT DING. Not hearing anything at the end of two weeks, I contacted them again on August 16, 2021. I was told that the insurance company was not responding to their requests, so no work had been completed. I checked with the insurance company and they informed me that a check for full payment had been sent on July 28, FIVE days before I even took the car in and the check had already cleared. Having lost all confidence in Knockout's ability to repair my car, I said I would like to pick the car up and go somewhere else. They said they had spent considerable time prepping the car and doing the final estimate. I drove down to the shop, looked at my car and noticed that, after 14 days they had succeeded in removing one door molding, one door handle and the interior door panel. After complaining to them about all the delays, they agreed to forward the work order to the production manager. I asked simply, when my car would be finished and was told that they would know more on Wednesday (2 days later). I insisted that that was unacceptable and requested to speak to the owner. It is now August 17 and I am still waiting for the owner to call me back. Did I say that my car had a small PARKING LOT DING!!!!! read more

Recently someone backed into my Car and did some damaged to the bumper and rear side. From the beginning, Addison greeted us with a professional friendly approach and Erin helped me navigate the process of the insurance claim through State Farm. The insurance company was very difficult to deal with, and resulted in the person that hit me having to pay almost $700.00 out of their own pocket. State Farm claims that Knockout's labor rates were too expensive. This IS NOT the case. My car is a Mercedes'. I am not going to take it to just anyone. I contacted Knockout because a friend used them and was really pleased. I am also very pleased. I had my Highlander repaired there about a year ago after taking out the front end with a deer. They did excellent work and was fast. Just recently the door on my 2018 pickup seemed to be not closing correctly. I thought maybe it need to be adjusted. I stopped in to see them. Asked to set up an appointment to check it out. They had a tech go out and look at it. He found that a couple bolts had loosened a bit. Tightened them up and door was good as new. Went inside and they said no charge. Was awesome. Beware!!!!!! When you take your car to Knockout Collision, they have you sign two forms. One says that you are responsible for paying $600 if after their estimate, you don't have the repairs done at their shop. The other form states that if the bill in excess of what the insurance company will pay, you are responsible for paying the excess before they will release your car. Once we realized our mistake in using Knockout and tried to get our car back, they had already taken the door apart which had nothing to do with the 3 scrapes on the side of my car that just need to be repainted! We also did not receive or sign a the estimate. When the car was done, the insurance company sent us a payment for less than 1/2 the bill. I called the insurance company and discovered that they have never received an estimate or bill from Knockout. The biller at Knockout swore she sent it and was very rude. Knockout had been using the wrong claim number in their correspondence with the insurance company. As a result of all this, the insurance company was late in sending the payment and Knockout threatened to keep our car and charge us storage fees of $100 per day. I was recently involved in a minor car accident and had right bumper and fender damage to my car. I was paying out of pocket for the repairs and had four estimates done for the car before deciding upon using Knockout Collision. I went with them because they were middle of road for price on the original estimate and seemed very nice. The problems began once I dropped off the car which was on Tuesday September the 2nd. I received a phone call 2.5 days later that I needed to come down to sign off on more parts they needed to order that were 1100 dollars more than the original estimate. Two of those parts were so obvious in needing to be replaced that they were included in all of the other three estimates original estimates. It makes it look like Knockout purposefully left them out to look cheaper. Two other shops included all of the parts I got from Knockout on their original estimates for 3100 and 3200. My total at Knockout was almost 3500. Also,the other three shops all told me 3-4 days for the time they would have my car and Knockout did not put a time for repairs on their estimate.Knockout took three weeks to complete the job. The biggest problem of all was feeling lied to and feeling like being on a wild goose chase. I was told parts were ordered when they were not ordered yet, 4 days had passed before being told they were waiting for approval before ordering the additional parts that had allegedly been ordered, suddenly they needed 50 percent deposit because it was not an insurance claim and they never stated that when I took it in from the beginning. I had a state board exam to take and they were going to extend a rental car fee to me when they easily could have comped me a car. Then parts were lost and the list goes on. My mom's entire front end had to be repaired and it took 10 days. Her body shop also ordered all of the parts at one time to not waste time. It also seems like their parts carrier might not be efficient. The most insulting part of it all was being told thanks for putting up with us when picking up the car. The owner had to have known there were issues and he did not come out to talk to me either. All in all, this was a huge learning experience and I won't go back to Knockout or recommend them at all. read more

I went to Knockout repair in May after I hit someone's tow hitch in my BMW. Gary took good care of me. He was friendly and personable. My service and experience was literally flawless, just like my car was when he returned it to me within a week or so. 8 months later I needed to see him again for the front end of my car (Today). I came in almost in tears, stressed to the max because I am moving to Santa Monica in 6 days and I have too much lined in the next week that I just can't push back because of an accident and repairs. He comforted me with a hug, and a cup of coffee and reassured me that he will have my car ready to go on Thursday morning for me to take off to my new home in Southern California. He told me not to worry about it, and he will take care of everything for me even though I hadn't had any insurance information for him except The name, number and policy number. I'm nearly crying now for how thankful I am for Gary and his efficiency, and knowing how important it is for me to have my car fixed in 6 days... He had his secretary give me a ride to work and she of course was as sweet as ever.
