I was looking for…read morethe Lillian Anderson Arboretum and missed their drive and ended up following the sign for the Oshtemo Township Park. Boy, did we make the right turn! The park has 70 acres that includes tennis courts, playground, disc golf, pavilions, and walking trails. Even though the trails were snow covered, they were easy to follow. There are a lot of signs to make sure you know where you are. The forested area of the park is beautiful with rolling hills and as an added bonus you can connect to the Lillian Anderson Arboretum trails. I'm so glad we spent a few hours on a chilly Sunday exploring this beautiful area just west of Kalamazoo.

Many long holes, a bunch of tight shots through the woods, a few makeable drives, and a couple nice wide open bombers. This course is quite difficult, but it's beautiful and enjoyable. Much of the first half of the course is wooded and hilly, which presents its own challenges, while the back half is much more wide open and sunny, but provides challenges of its own with some epically long holes. This place holds the distinction of being the only local course where I haven't yet lost a disc (knock on wood for me please), and because it's a little outside of town it's a bit less busy than some of the other popular spots locally (Oshtemo and Cold Brook in particular). It doesn't have water hazards like some of the local courses, despite being next to a lake (none of the holes abuts the lake at Robert Morris Park).

Other than that, we don't keep score! Several of the first few holes neighbor the serene and beautiful Sunset Lake, which is lovely but a potential disc-stealer. Interestingly enough, I lost my disc I'd had for 20 years on one of the basic straightaway holes. It must've nestled itself just right under a big pile of leaves. So if you found a bright orange Dragon disc with Beth Clark and my phone number on it ... well, it would be cool if you called! I loved that puppy (because it floats so I wouldn't lose it on those water holes). There's another water hazard spot on the hole that goes straight down the entry road, and yet another where you're supposed to drive it directly across the lake. I take the long way around because there's no way I'm going to get across it. My husband drives straight across and hasn't yet lost a disc on it (somebody knock on wood for me!) It's a great spot to bring your dog (we usually take ours off-leash and put it on if there's other dogs nearby), and a nice little neighborhood course.

Went today, door was locked and there was a sign on the door that read "I'm next door". So I went…read morenext door to the convenience store and waited in line. When he asked if he could help me I said, yes the sign next door said you were here. "What do you need?" he asked, I wanted to look at the disc golf discs I answered. "Can you be quick?" he asked. I said no, I didn't want to feel rushed, never mind then and I left. I had cash in pocket and had never been there before. I work retail too and I don't like to rush people, you never know what they are going to buy. Guess I'll just buy discs online like a lot of people do. And businesses wonder why they fail. If you are a brick and mortar store the greatest asset you have is customer service, I didn't feel like I got it here today.

I watched two dogs jump out of their little fence and try to attack a woman and her dog, these dogs had been aggressive for days and the dog's owner only got a warning. If a young man hadn't have jumped to the rescue, they could have seriously harmed this poor lady and her dog. These same campers also had their older children on their site fist fighting and cussing each other out, still nothing was done. There were no trashcans to throw away trash or doggie bags. It was the absolute most stressful campground I've ever been to. Will never go back!!!

What a great park! It offers a variety of activities and amenities, including a playground, disc…read moregolf course, sports fields, shelter houses and picnic tables. A real treasure hides down the hill behind the playground: access to the Ledges and the Ledges Trail. It's amazing to see the giant sandstone outcroppings and to wind in and around. Part of the trail follows right along the river on one side and the ledges on the other, giving a good view of the variety of animals, including birds, turtles, and more. Gorgeous and a great little hike!

My favorite feature of the course is the punishment for poor shots (especially off the T). Grab your birdies where you can, because the 500 & 700 foot holes are great places to give them back. Designed by Sugar Shack, Fallasburg offers a ton of natural beauty, a great escape from the suburban areas & a great challenge to your game. Great park for walking on trails. Some are paved, some are grass, and some are dirt. We saw many…read moredeer in our walk! There are serval lakes along the paths too. We weren't brave enough to try the wild berries but there are plenty if you're up for it.
