I was told I could not pull into my site so I could evacuate quickly in an emergency. I liked the view of the lake out my windshield. There were a lot of cars and trucks pulled into sites. Following state logic, they should back in so they can evacuate quickly also. It made no sense.

We had a really good experience renting a Lowe SS 210 pontoon boat here until it came time to…read morereturn it and deal with the gas. When we pulled up at the dock at our scheduled return time, a young worker was already filling boats with gas cans (not a pump). He started filling ours, but ran out of gas midway. That immediately raised concerns, since there's no way to know how much was in the can before he started. My husband went into the store and was told the worker would have to go buy more gas, and it would be 30+ minutes before he came back. This was frustrating because they knew our boat was due back at 6 PM, yet chose to use up gas on other boats first instead of being prepared for us. We were told we'd be sent a receipt for the fuel, but we never got one--just a $100 charge. At $5 a gallon and a 24-gallon tank, the numbers don't add up, especially since the gauge showed between half and a quarter tank left when we returned it. Based on the math, I don't believe we actually used the amount of gas they charged us for, likely an extra $20-$30. The day on the water itself was great, but the lack of transparency with the gas, no receipt, and questionable accuracy in what we were charged left a sour note at the end. It's never a good feeling to feel like you have been ripped off. If you rent here, just be aware of how they handle fueling and charges.

We would have full days of no water for 10+ hours. We would get emails stating that the water was back on, and it was in other loops but the pressure at our site and those close by was so low we couldn't get any to the actual camper. The bathhouse was also out so no luck there for even basics. Additionally the garbage dumpsters were very close to our site and overflowing the entire time resulting in awful smells wafting over regularly. Upon talking to the campstore they were unapologetic that we had no water, no mind the experience being less than desirable. They wouldn't refund the remainder of our stay, or allow us to move to another site unless we paid for the additional site. Multiple were actually aggressively pushing back that we just had to deal with it, and visibly annoyed that we were even complaining. This was additionally challenging because the only way for our trailer to exit was a road that had been dug up to put in the sewer lines and was not drivable. We were stuck, forced to remain for days in our spot, unable to even leave to go home unless we wanted to donate our camper to the state park. The construction site manager said this will be going on for a few months, so if you are coming summer 2026 watch out. While this also is not an all the time situation please consider how horrendous the most basic customer service is here before booking.

It was NOT easy being on the 4th floor in such cramped quarters! The third day we took a drive and found Jackson County Parks & Marina. We took a chance and visited the office. The young lady could not have been kinder. We were able to rent a two bedroom cabin with a gorgeous lake view. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. There are walking paths, boats to rent, a little BBQ restaurant, room for campers and I think tents as well. We highly recommend this place and may even come back to actually vacation and not be running from a hurricane!!! Thank you, Jackson County Parks!!!!

We decided to try Jackson County Park. The experience of calling the park was nicer than what I expected. The gal told me about a few available sites and then called me back to let me know there was another available spot that I would probably like better. The site is absolutely beautiful and almost perfectly level. The view of the lake is gorgeous! The sites are spaced so nicely it actually feels like you have space without intruding on another campsite. (For the record, we're pulling a 29' travel trailer). There's enough space to pull your slides and hook up and still have space to park your pulling car. The grounds are beautiful and there's plenty of space to enjoy yourself and maneuver. I am just immensely happy with our stay. I would absolutely wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone looking.

Lesson learned, but they don't have any WiFi services. We went back and looked on the website, but totally missed it. We noticed that the staff were very responsive, which was great. Just a couple of items I would recommend for maintenance/cleaning purposes. After a customer has left, make sure to check the outdoor bulbs. One of our porch bulbs was out, but the other one thankfully provided enough lighting. As you can imagine, it can get very dark at night. Also make sure to sweep around the porch area and look for cobwebs. Also make sure to check the utensils after each stay. Some of the utensils were cheaply made, and were used inappropriately on a grill. Also, the broom inside of our Airbnb probably either needed to be replaced or cleaned. We noticed that there was a lot of hair trapped within the broom bristles. So as we were trying to clean, the broom was actually leaving more and more hair on the floor. Also, keep in mind, you have to take out your own trash, which was a first for us. Lastly, you may want to bring your own pillows if you have any back or neck issues. They were super flat and uncomfortable. Other than those items, the Airbnb was clean. If you don't mind tiny places, then you definitely want to check out River Ridge.

The sites aren't shaded, it's not kid friendly, and there's nothing to do during the middle of the day. We sat by the fire at night. It was peaceful, but mosquitoes tried to eat us up. Even with bug spray. The dog park was good, but not shaded. There's no wifi, no free toilets, no free showers. You'll be okay if you have those things in your camper. We have an older class C van, so we weren't happy at all. I had such high hopes for this place, too. It should be better in 2030, when the newly planted trees get big enough to provide shade. Maybe they'll have a bathhouse by then, too.

It is very cool for sure. Also, the last thing we did was hop on that little train( which I didn't care to do at all without little kids with me) yet it was a shocker how that man driving the train who shares about all things throughout the event that you get to see again from a different view on that train...he was super awesome.
