I went to John's Auto in need of new tires for my Jeep. First and foremost, I immediately noticed…read morethat, even though I was a woman, he was talking to me without a gender bias. This may sound ridiculous but I had just come from a few other mechanics that had spoken to me in a "you're a woman and have no idea what you're talking about mechanically" kind of tone. Back to the point. He proposed a few different brands and types of tire for my car. He gave me the pros and cons of each, answered all the questions I had, and did not at all pressure me to make a decision on the spot. After thinking about it for a night and doing a little research, I contacted him and requested the tires which his own wife has on her car. I mean that's a piece of mind right there. He was quick to reply and scheduled me for an appointment before an impending snow storm. The work was done quickly and the price was incredibly reasonable. When I picked up my car he requested I follow up with him on how the tires do in the snow. I did follow up with him as the tires were just as he described - reliable. He also includes a free tire rotation with every oil change so I now know where I'm going for all my mechanical needs. I can't say enough about John's workmanship and customer service.

Dependable. Knowledgeable. A LOCAL TREASURE. Check this out...My wife and I passed through Ipswich…read morewith our toddler in tow having driven cross country from California to visit my mom in Great Neck. Annoyingly, we'd picked up a nail in a tire while passing though New York and had replaced it, but knew we needed to get all the tires checked before hitting the road back to California. JOHN'S TO THE RESCUE. Not only did John detect the direness of our tire's worn-down state, but he managed to acquire the replacement tires needed at a reasonable price, and squeeze us in to have the car ready the next morning, thus assuring we could get back on the road to California on the safest tires possible and on schedule. John and his wife are generous, professional, and all around lovely people. I wish we had them out here in Los Angeles because I'd take my car there every time. John really provides the kind of personalized service that puts a warm face and a hearty laugh on a small town like Ipswich, MA, and let's his customers drive away feeling safer and happy. A class act. I look forward to returning soon!

This dealership constantly frustrates me in my online car search…read more Whether I see their cars on third party sites, or their own website (so they can't blame the third party sites) They list all their vehicles with an arbitrary and clearly incorrect "500 miles". I do not understand why they do that... But what's worse is, they then do not include a picture of the odometer to show you the true mileage. I have to contact you just to find out the mileage of the vehicle? Isn't that annoying for them?! If they play these games with just the listed mileage, I do not trust them on any other aspect of the vehicles they sell or the deals. I'd love to know their reasoning...

I bought a Hummer from this place. Was told it needs "nothing"…read more Back wiper doesn't work Heated seats don't work Brake line faliled while driving on RT 1, had to coast into a fast food place and hit a wall to stop. (Replaced all 4 brake lines (very shady they way he did it). Then it happened a second time because they didn't flare the break line (cost me $525 to get this fixed). Use your wonderful warranty Dana said. It doesn't cover break lines, as he already knew. BUT 2 times in 2 weeks my breaks went out completely. Had to pay for tow both times. Thanks D&D My transmission line blew. Transmission got stuck in neutral. Had to pay for a tow. My oil temperature gage doesn't work. Had to put in an aftermarket one. I've had this truck less then 3 months and it has been in the shop 4 times. This place is a rip off. Kind of sucks for a truck that needed nothin STAY AWAY!
