The practice is expensive and charges separately for every item. There is no bundling of costs. My tooth extraction was $423 + $742 (bone graft) + $200 (drug injection report) + 400 (deep sedation) +$370 (resorbable membrane) for a total cost of 2,135, minus $360 from insurance. My implant, which did not include the crown, was about $4,277, of which 1,276 was for a surgical implant guide. Only $700 was paid by my insurance. S whenever I make an appointment, I know I need to plan several days ahead to be in a calm enough mindset to make it through an appointment. So when I got stuck in traffic to the point where I was almost twenty minutes late, I had no idea if they would still be able to see me and my whole "Namaste" mindset was out the window. Not only did they see me, they did backflips to make sure I was comfortable. They were fast, diligent, and overwhelming kind. I cannot thank Dr. Williams, Amy, or Theresa enough. I'm a nurse and I truly hope that I am able to show my patients the quality of care that everyone at University General Dentists have shown me.

One issue that stood out right from the beginning, was the egregious communication skills of the resident dentist. He aggressively questioned me multiple times about why it had been so long since I was there. I gave a general answer because I really didn't want to share with him my personal life story of losing my sister very unexpectedly in 2022. I didn't feel like I owed an explanation for being occupied with her only child who has severe Down's syndrome. I didn't feel the need to explain the amount of grief I have had to deal with over the past few years. I was finally focusing on my own underserved needs and felt like he was scolding me for being noncompliant. When he wasn't able to pinpoint my pain issue, his attitude spoke of unbelief. He questioned me about why I didn't come in sooner if I had so much pain. I explained that this was the first appointment I could get, and I made it 3 months ago. I waited patiently because I didn't want to go anywhere else. I had very good results in the past. I could go on with multiple other complaints about the resident dentist, but it would be several pages long. When I went to check out, I was told I had a past due bill of over $100.00 from my last visit in 2021 and had to pay it along with this visit. I explained that I never received any bills from them. I was told, they sent out 1 statement and they don't use a collection agency. At this point I wanted to get as far away from them as possible for my own mental wellbeing. So I quickly paid the bill and left. I will never go back and will encourage others to go somewhere else.

This was not something that I was happy about as I started my search for a new Dentist to replace one that I really liked. In my search, I found Clinton Family Dentistry. They accepted my insurance, had good reviews, and their location was convenient so I gave them a shot. I figured this would only be temporary because as soon as I can change my insurance, I would be returning to the Dentist that I had been using for years. I was blown away by the level of care and expertise provided by Dr. Holly Bishop. She took the time to explain everything to me and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. Her caring attitude really stood out and gave me the confidence that I was in good hands. Mackenzie, one of the dental hygienists, was also amazing. She was so friendly and professional, and made me feel right at home. The entire staff at Clinton Family Dentistry genuinely cares about their patients, and it shows. I have since made the change in Dental Insurance. However, I will not be changing Dentist. Dr. Bishop and her staff are that good. I am not going anywhere. Had a bridge done by a dentist there which was absolutely a disaster. later went to another…read moredentist and he couldn't believe how it was done so needless to say had to get it completely redone. In the process of first bridge she said three teeth needed to be pulled which I found out was very unnecessary. So I recommend do not let them do a bridge or pull good teeth without a second opinion .
