I can confirm that Jason is a terrible human being. My sister used to work there, and Jason enforces a "rule" that all of his employees must sleep with him as part of the hiring process. He claims that he can only trust a woman if they sleep with him. My sister refused to sleep with him, however around her second week of work he attempted to rape her. After the shop had closed he told the rest of the employees to go home, locked the door, and told her that he would tattoo her for free. About thirty minutes into the tattoo he turned his tattoo machine off and told her that if she wanted him to finish her tattoo then she would have to suck his penis. He unzipped his pants and forced her head towards him. She broke free of him, ran out of the shop right then and there, and hasn't been back since. Unfortunately she is left with an abomination of an unfinished tattoo on her thigh to eternally remind her of this terrible human being. The artists and piercers who work at knuckledot are not professional by any means. Jason has a philosophy that he would rather "create" a new artist, rather than hire a professional who knows what they are doing. This is because if he hires someone who is young and naive he believes that he can easily manipulate them (and it is sexual for him, he is attracted to and sleeps with minors). That being said, the majority of his artists and piercers are young kids, fresh out of high school, with no professional experience whatsoever. He justifies their lack of experience as calling them "apprentices", however apprentices always make mistakes. I would love to see a tattoo from this shop that actually looks professional, or a piercing that is straight. His employees do not know what they are doing. read more

Found this tattoo/piercing shop on google and I decided to give it a try for my nose piercing. Once arriving I can already tell I was going to have an amazing customer service! Angie who is the co-owner & piercer knew exactly what she is doing & did an amazing job with my nose piercing! It is so important that I write this review. For anyone who is/was like me, I went in with anxiety of getting piercings that I was so sure that would hurt and be painful but I not only got painless piercings, I was welcomed by down to earth employees, and a clean and laid back atmosphere. I came in just an hour before closing and I was not rushed. They answered each of my questions and concerns until I was ready. I also had the pleasure of seeing Jason in action, teaching a current tattoo artist how to do precise piercings. He's a great teacher and was extremely gentle with me and the very nice female was receptive of his educating her. Angie and Trace were super helpful and friendly. I have a hodge podge of random tattoos I've gotten over the years, that really don't go too well together. They helped me come up with ideas on how to create a back sleeve out of it, without covering up all my old work. Angie did the tatt. She was very professional, yet funny and had me cutting up. She was also extremely anal about sanitizing her work space, in which she did during my tattoo breaks, as well as, before and after my tattoo session. I got really good 'feels' about these ladies, so I also got my nose pierced after my tattoo. The nose piercing went smoother than the last time I got it pierced. Jason was super nice to my sister and I. I got a nostril piercing and a tragus. My sister got a little nervous watching me go first, but he really helped both of us feel comfortable! Angie did an absolutely amazing job piercing my nose and belly button! Even though I jumped bad when she pierced my belly button, it's still perfectly straight! The only tattoo shop I'll go to in the Raleigh area. They treat you like family, going as far as to feed you before sitting down for a 3 hour session, and of course you'll walk out with a tattoo you won't be able to stop showing off. Worth the wait, worth the cost, cannot recommend more. read more
