He made everyone that came through before me feel at ease. ( Which made me feel at ease). The energy of the studio was very relaxing. Me and my friend got our septum pierced today. The front desk wasn't welcoming. There's also no bathroom available to use inside. It took the piercing person 2 times to get mine in and my friend's 4 times. We did not receive a copy of our contract. Also, unable to reach the shop before coming as we called multiple times. Not the most professional place. If you're looking for something quick and you don't care much about professionalism, then this is the place for you. read more

Went in for a medusa, explained that i might need a longer bar to give my lip room to swell, showed the jewelry i had, and was told they were the same length as the ones they used? ok cool. the piercing placement was perfect but she literally pierced thru the edge of my lip! you could see the jewelry with my mouth closed which isn't how a medusa is supposed to be OBVIOUSLY. and it was kinda cute w the jewelry showing but it was also crooked???? by the time i got home, the end of the bar was sinking in already. which indicated that i in fact did need a longer bar as i said. i also compared the bars and they were not the same length. so yeah. just go somewhere else guys read more

I came to the shop for 3 piercings on my ear due to the low price and having come here before for different piercings. The latest experience was definitely my worst. The piercings process itself went as expected but a week following I returned to the shop because I thought my ear was reacting badly to the piercing. I assumed this was because of my ears sensitivity to nickel. (which I had not considered asking about when getting the piercing) The man who had done my piercing had taken a look at my ear and told me it was most likely not an allergic reaction 1) because their jewelry was surgical steel and wouldn't have nickel. And 2) that it was most likely because of me putting too much saline on my ear. So I went home and kept them in. ( I had removed the helix trying to change the jewelry at home and had lost that piercing which is why I went to the shop to ask if we could change the jewelry). A week later my ear is in even worse condition so I go back to the shop to have them taken out because at this point I'm sure it's the piercings rejecting due to the jewelry because there was no other reason for the reaction. I had stopped putting on saline solution and was just cleaning with soap and water and the ear kept getting worse. Finally I get to the shop and they charge to remove the jewelry and the man who had sent me away commented "oh yea you might've been allergic to something " when removing the jewelry. Which I felt was utterly useless. Take away: if you have a sensitivity to nickel the surgical steel they use make still cause you to react. And the piercer might not be the most knowledgeable about piercing reactions so definitely seek outside sources or trust your judgment. I was not going to leave a review at first, but I have to at this point. The gentleman with six nose piercings in the front who checks you in was very nice and professional. He let us know about the ATM since it was cash only, and where we could go to the restroom since there is not one inside the shop. The piercer however is where my issue lies. He was coughing all over the place without covering his mouth, told me he just got done smoking and that's why he was coughing. It was evident by the smell on his hands. He didn't have me use mouthwash or sanitize my tongue in any way. Luckily I used mouthwash about an hour ago in the car. He did not open the needle in front of me, which I should've seen as a red flag. He did not go over any after care even though I had to sign a form saying he did. When doing the actual piercing he hardly looked at my tongue just clamped it and pierced with no warning and then said 123 when replacing the needle with the bar. Unfortunately my tongue ring is crooked asf and off center. It is very obviously to one side of my mouth swollen or not it's not going to change that the piercing is to the side of my mouth not centered. read more

Came in for my 18th birthday, Work was done by a guy who goes by "Lucky", would definitely recommend him 100%. I had gotten a tattoo when I was 17 and knew what to expect, however when my sugar levels weren't doing too good, i felt lightheaded however Lucky brought me candy and a drink and laid me down and talked me through it and I got back up and we were done in just seconds. I had an amazing experience here. First off, my tattoo idea was discussed with excited energy, and my appointment was made promptly, unlike other places where you have to book out months in advance. My artist was Mike Smith and he did an AMAZING job. His linework is incredible & his ideas that he incorporated with mine really made my tattoo, it's definitely my favorite one yet. I would not recommend this place for piercings as I got both my nose and navel pierced here and they both got infected even though I took care of it. My navel piercing appeared crooked and not in the center of my belly button. I avoided water for several months of my piercing and made sure I wore lose fitting clothes, along with cleaning it with saline solution, but it still wasn't healing properly. I had the same trouble with my nose piercing which I took out within a month or so of having it pierced. I wouldn't recommend this place, the piercer seemed inattentive. read more

I came here a week ago to get my smiley pierced! They messed my mouth up! After he pierced me he never gave any instructions or anything on how to take care of it! Then Instead of him piercing the part where the smiley goes he pierced the inside of my lip ! I was in pain and I thought maybe it was healing but every time I smiled it hurt and when I smiled you couldn't even see it! I went back to the shop and let them know about it and he tried to downplay it saying just let it heal and I'll be ok... I came back a day later and said I wanted it taken out and he tried to charge me to take it out ! They never even said it would cost to remove it and if you messed up the piercing why should I have to pay to have it removed ?!? So I decided to go to another top rated tattoo and piercing shop to get it removed and the lady there was gonna charge me as well but once I showed her the piercing romantic torture did she was sooo historical she offered to take it out for free and said the way it was pierced was going to cause damage to my lip gums and teeth!! I am so thankful she was able and nice enough to get it out because I was going to be sick! I do NOT recommend this place to anyoneeee!! 1/10 service, attitude, quality, and vibe! read more

Got a finger tattoo done yesterday at Romantic Torture. Although this place is less than 5 minutes from my house, I originally tried to schedule with that other popular place near NC State as I had a previous tattoo done there years ago. I ended up not going there because the girl who answered the phone was so rude and they never answered my questions via email despite telling me to send them via email. On a whim, I stopped in at RT and had a wonderful experience. From the front desk staff to other employees who were there, everyone was courteous and professional. Steve took the time to answer all of my questions and to listen to what I wanted. I trusted that he would do an excellent job with my tattoo and he did! Now, there was music playing with explicit language and the staff do use a good bit of profane language, but it's a tattoo parlor, not a country club. Also I am Somewhat older than the average person getting a tattoo so it may not be an issue for you. Overall this was an excellent experience and I highly recommend RT. read more

Once my mom was done with all the paperwork a man took us to a room after he was done with the customers he was with once they had left he looked at me and my mom and says "is it me or did they smell like shit", I was in disbelief that he had just said that but I laughed it off. Long story short my piercing wasn't placed right at all!! The bottom ball wasn't even coming out of my bellybutton and I never really noticed it until a couple months later, I then went to John savage tattoo to have someone look at it the man who looked at it for me told me "they fucked your piercing up it's not placed right at all", not to mention when they took it out they noticed two keloids where the piercing had been. Well i guess the cheaper u pay the less value you really get. I had balls fall off not once but twice making me have to go to the shop 2/3 times now! I now lost another ball!!! i had came in for a navel piercing and the lady up front seemed pretty nice and welcoming, but the person that pierced but didn't use any clamps or anything and pierced it crooked, kept stabbing me and losing grip and it was a repeated cycle and i was in excruciating amount of pain. a piecing shouldn't be so painful where you almost pass out. please use clamps !! read more
