The quality of the work was 5 stars. no ifs ands or buts. hole fixed, ceiling painted no fuss no muss no mess. It looks great. The office paperwork side was less so. it was a 2 maybe a 3. It was hard to get an estimate, e-mails sent were apparently missed, the office staff was disorganized- and I'm being polite. it was disorganized to the point I felt like they didn't want my business. and setting a date for the work was only marginally less stressful than Noah booking seats on the ark. When the workmen showed up, they had no work order, I got no receipt or anything at all, and they barely spoke English leading to a few misunderstandings. So the work was absolutely first rate but my God, it was a challenge getting it going.

When they showed up they said that we can't t do the insulation and made up some BS reason. They wanted the drywall work and fed me the insulation BS so they could do a bait and switch.

A couple months ago I was struggling to find a contractor to come out to my house in Maryland to give me an insulation quote for my new addition. Our insulation guy became unavailable towards the end of our project so we needed someone fast to insulate the space. I called Amira and they squeezed us into their schedule, quickly gave us pricing and helped us stay within our budget. We are so glad we did because we got a quote for spray foam instead of going with batts like we originally had planned and the new addition is probably the most stable temperature of all the rooms in our house now that we're seeing hotter days. We quickly got another spray foam quote for our pole barn shop in Delaware right after that and had them do spray foam on the walls and cellulose blown on the ceiling. I can't recommend Amira Contracting enough.

We had no soffit vents and the insulation was minimal leading to the attic being very hot and humid (in the summer) and cold in the winter. We decided we wanted to rectify this and so I did my due diligence and got three separate quotes. Green Stone Energy's was the highest of the three. However, this was mostly due to the fact that they would do everything to modernize the attic, including insulating, air sealing, adding soffit vents, and an attic fan. Other companies tried to tell me the attic didn't need to be ventilated but I knew that wasn't true. The experience from start to finish was great. Erick was with us through the whole process. I was most impressed by his professionalism during the quote and throughout the attic modernization. All of the workers involved in installing the insulation/ventilation were very polite and walked me through exactly what they were doing. I have temperature sensors throughout the house and so I can already see what a huge difference it's made in keeping the house at a more comfortable temperature. We had a great experience with Green Stone and would highly recommend them!

They were inconsistent in communication, started hours later than scheduled, and the end result included thick clumps of mud in some places, zero mud under/around tape in other places. I was able to remove 80% of the tape on the wall without any hand tools - it just fell off. And some gaps in the drywall were large enough that I could see that they didn't fully cover the wall with the MLV (despite having more than enough material). Tried to get them to come back and sand it down and re-mud, but they were unwilling to make any attempt to make this better. I would have had better results if a kindergarten class had done the job.

The owner of Tri-State Remodeling (Roland) responded to my initial search on YELP but let me know up front he didn't deal with "patching" but if I was interested in a consultation for new roof, he would be glad to meet. After meeting with Roland, I had a whole new perspective and what seems like a reasonable amount of information on roofs in general. He was very thorough in his presentation, explaining the various products, along with the training and certification process thru the product manufacturer, and explained step by step how a roof project would be conducted. Tri-State Remodeling not only uses quality materials, they understand the importance of customer service and satisfaction and professionalism. The estimate provided was very competitive and included items not mentioned by other contractors. I am so glad I chose not to piece-meal this project as it turned out, my roof was in pretty bad shape underneath it all; several pieces of plywood had to be replaced (included). Overall, I was pleased with the experience with one exception. The tarp used to protect the property ripped and materials fell on the tree next to my porch causing damage to several of the upper limbs that had to be addressed. Oh, did I mention the life time warranty? Awesome!! Check them out if you ever find yourself in need of a roof. They also do gutters, siding, windows & doors....
