Our house should have never passed inspections for a CO based on roofing alone. Blower Door Test results: 39-qty of the can lighting are NOT sealed (=Winter heat escapes into Attic. =Summer 180 degree heat penetrates into the house (we had -0- ridge vents) Outside Wall Sockets are also NOT sealed. Thermal Imaging results: all 3 tray ceilings JOISTS are visible from inside (= -0- to "dusting" insulation above in the attic not per code in SC R38 ~22" Blown Insulation. We will turnover the report to builder for our 1yr Warranty expecting another "denied", but if not we'll insist PE crew perform the work confident house would finally pass code. Highly recommend their Energy Audit for old & NewCon especially before you close on the house!!!

They noted that spray foam would seal the attic so completely that there would be no ventilation. With the high level of humidity this would make for a terrific environment for black mold to grow. Despite the fact that it was cheaper and they would make less profit, they recommended blown-in insulation. It works great. Our house this Winter is noticeably warmer with much less heat use from our compressor. Highly recommend this company.
