My fiancé and I bought our house in October, unaware of the time frame in which the septic had been inspected. According to community laws, it must be inspected/pumped every 2 years. When we found out we were overdue, I called every septic company we could find online and by word of mouth. The woman who answered our call at koberlein was FANTASTIC. She answered every question we had about everything from what we needed to do, to what we needed for our community, to pricing and when their driver could come out. She explained that they do the inspection, and will pump if need be, but if it needed pumping, they ONLY charge for the pumping and not the inspection, which was WONDERFUL compared to other companies we called. Their prices were VERY competitive and we couldn't refuse the services. Today, their driver (Matt) came out and before he even got started he ensured I knew what exactly he was doing and what he needed to do. He talked me through every step of the process and the "what ifs" that were possible. Once he gave the all clear for our septic he gave me some tips and tricks to help take better care of our septic system and handed over all the paperwork I needed to show we had the inspection done and our system passed. As a first time home owner, we get a lot of crap for not knowing things, and people tend to "look down" on us for asking so many questions about things. I mean, we ARE first time homeowners and we're new at this. But koberlein didn't skip a beat in making sure we were confident with their services. They answered all of our questions, completely and honestly, and never made us feel like we were "silly or stupid" for asking. We will be koberlein customers as long as we own a home and will be recommending them to all of our homeowner friends! Horrendous. Koberlein was bought out by wind river and the service has dropped substantially. Spent 30 minutes on hold trying to book a septic service only to be redirected and put at the back of the queue. Find a local company that can just answer their phones directly without the run around. Who has time for that. I was a loyal customer of Koberlein but the company I knew is unfortunately gone. read more

We called the company because we had use them in the past. They got back to us two weeks later. They made the appointment for the inspection at our home, charged our credit card a fee. Then two weeks later, they called us again and asked to make an appointment. We told them we already made an appointment, and the woman insisted on telling me that we haven't used them since 2019 and she has no record of an appointment. And she persistently antagonized me and reminded me that we haven't used them since 2019 and totally ignored that I was telling her that I already made an appointment. She refused to check with anybody else to see who took my credit card and made the appointment & then hung up on me because i was agitated!!!! So now I have to cancel my credit card and find another septic company to inspect our septic tank. We will never use their services again. Worst customer service I ever encountered. Called them today, bad pump, water backed up to house. They came over same day, pumped out the tanks and confirmed that the pump was not working. Will come tomorrow to fix the pump, could not ask for bether service AAA. Follow up on yesterday's review, they came out this morning, in the pouring rain and replaced the pump. We had clogged main drain problems for years, and another plumber did not pinpoint the problem. Koberlein was recommended to us and we called- they came out the next day for an evaluation, gave a fair estimate, and then replaced our main sewer line. They even put the gravel back over the spot in the yard where they dug up and replaced the pipe. Also they called a few days later to see how everything is- perfect! So I've owned this house in the country for five years and decided, well, the time has come to pump the septic tank. It's been a while. A dirty job but has to be done. So on the recommendation of a couple of people I called Koberlein. This is a well-established septic system company that serves Wayne and Sullivan Counties. The guy came over, looked in my tank and said to me, hey, you're OK. Five years notwithstanding, the level wasn't very high and, given my level of usage, I don't have to have it pumped now and can wait another couple of years. How about that? He could have just gone ahead and pumped it and I'd not have been any the wiser, but he's an ethical guy and this is obviously an ethical establishment. They are A-OK by me, and I'd recommend 'em to anybody who needs this dirty but necessary job done. read more

Don't use these people. Terrible service. A month ago, Chad came by the house and told me all I needed was for him to take my pump and he could fix it. Ken came out and said we just had tree roots blocking the drain, $85 later the problem was fixed! We didn't even have to have our system drained. This is a good, HONEST company. They are the best! I am Regis H. I left a very negative review on Feb. 6, 2018 Here is what happened afterwards. That evening, I got a personal call from the owner of Koberlein, Chris Ravenscroft. I was very surprised. He hadn't read my Yelp review, but had heard from his staff about a message on their answering machine. Chris listened to me and was very concerned. He asked good questions. He didn't make excuses and he sincerely apologized for the situation. They'd copied my cell number wrong and nobody had followed up to come back and communicate/get the right phone number. Koberlein came out the next day. They installed a new pump. I was not charged for either visit. They did every possible thing to make it right. I am not accustomed to this Superior Customer Service! Any company that is trying this hard to make customers happy deserves our support! Anybody can make a mistake, but when they do, that's when you find out who they really are. These people are great! Their guy, who I believe is out of their Liberty NY office, was excellent, thoughtful and professional. In general, everyone we dealt with was helpful and considerate of our situation. After promising to contribute to the fix, Chris (in his infinite wisdom) changed his mind weeks later and reneged on a previously agreed upon amount.
