What kind of self proclaimed "breakfast spot" stops serving breakfast at 10:30? When we walked in the door (it was our first time) we were met with stares because I didn't know we had to seat ourselves (there is no sign stating please seat yourselves, and no one acknowledged us when we walked in the door). Once we sat down and given a full menu (with breakfast options) we were told they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30. Kind of odd considering one of the other reviewers here said they had a wonderful breakfast at 11:00... I really feel like they just didn't want to serve us! If you are from out of town or not a White enough do not go to that place ( people are NOT friendly ) You will get stared at the whole visit ( happened with me 3 times ) ,, the staff is NOT friendly and not welcoming, i felt forced to eat my food and leave , The waiters was friendly to everyone except us on multiple occasions. A rare and unfortunate event that I've never experienced before.. I'm from out of town, and here for work. I've come to the coffee shop several times over the past week and sat with my laptop for a few hours. I always eat, get a coffee, and tip 40-50% because I sit for a while. The first few times I felt unwelcome, never getting even a smile from the staff. Today was my last time visiting (though today I had a different waitress and she was a sweetheart). Around the lunch hour, I was kicked out by the owner. He told me he needed my table - there was NO ONE waiting, 3 tables unoccupied, and other individuals there working on their laptops, as well as a pair of women who had been there as long as I had. I was also about to order lunch and spend more of my money, but he had other plans, and hoped to make a buck off of customers that weren't even there yet. Where I'm from, a location that's marketed as a coffee shop (especially with free wifi) has tables open to the public and they are invited to make it their home office for the day without complaint. Can't wait to go back to the coffee shops in my home state. So much for "southern hospitality." Know before you go: he must have a timer on you the moment you sit down and dollar signs floating over your head. Plan on eating as fast as you can and leaving so he can turn tables rapidly and not bother forming lasting customer relationships. read more

Delicious healthy options like their Bacon, Egg, Tomato, Avocado salad. Highly recommend this restaurant for both their coffee and their food! The coffee is good, I ordered a latte (traditional). They do have other flavored lattes that I will be back to try. Their menu has all day breakfast as well as other meal-time items (lunch etc). My mom ordered the breakfast bowl which she enjoyed. The feel of the place is nice, it feels like a really comfy coffee joint. read more

I hate coffee, koffee, kovfefe, java, cup of joe, the shop on friends, however you spell it, and any place that sells it, I could care less about it, however THIS place, that the wifey describes as in the middle of nowhere (on our way to Lynchburg where Jack Daniel's is made) may have changed my mind. Dont get me wrong, there are times I have drank the dirty water, there have been times I wanted to enjoy a cup, there were times I really thought a fufufrappuccino would change my life, a shot of cuban crack would bring me pleasure, but you can imagine how disappointed I have been, until... So we are driving to Lynchburg and the wifey is upset she left her coffee at the hotel, which we werent going back to for a cup of filtered dirt. I promised her I would find something on the way. We were almost out of options I passed every starbucks and other places along the way, but a promise is a promise and well we came into this little town and just happened to see this place and I pulled in. Despite the exterior looking nice and inviting, the wifey was still bent about going in but I convinced her and she went. She came out shortly with a look of satisfaction and I was just happy to be on the way to the distillery. As she got settled in the car, I caught a whiff of this stuff. Man it sure did smell good. I was curious but Ive been burned so many times with the fufu stuff smelling so good, yet tasting so disgusting. But, I was feeling almost spellbound and had to try it. I still hate coffee. I love this place! The sandwiches and soup are excellent and the different coffees are wonderful. I love all the different lattes and how friendly the staff is. The atmosphere is also great, super cozy and welcoming with adorable seating areas inside and out. The only negatives are that the parking lot is a little hard to get in and out of and that sometimes the pricing and taste/make of the lattes are inconsistent between visits. But the place is newish still and I think that's part of the growing pains! Definitely worth your time for a visit - and a lot of the baked goods are wonderful too! Plus they deliver now! read more

Obsessed!! I've tried a lot of iced coffees in my life and I am very picky. I finally found my perfect coffee:) Very sweet and flavorful. I got the white chocolate tiramisu with almond milk. The food is good if you can get it. The service is bad. I called in most orders and they have been invariably wrong. To top it all off I called in an order and they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived in the prescribed time and sat at the window for 15 minutes. The young lady finally came to the window and asked me to park somewhere because it would be at least 20 more minutes before my order was ready. I told her to eat it herself and left. They just lost a repeat customer. Customer service means a lot and this shithole needs to learn what it means. After placing my to go order, I sat and waited 30 minutes and watch the workers wait on, and serve EVERYBODY else. When my order finally came out and staff started to bad it, they STOPPED to wait in two more customers that just walked in. I had to ask for my food. And to top it off, the order was missing several items and my coffee was sitting there the Whole FUCKING time. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Much like a boutique coffee shop you'd find in NYC, DC, LA, SF...except the wifi always works, the owner/manager might be behind the counter, and there is PARKING and a drive up window. In the parking lot there are cars with Bernie and Libertarian bumperstickers and the ubiquitous (except not in small TN towns in the past) HRC equal sign sticker. I've only has the coffee, which is decent. And the sandwiches, which were good. Been 3 times and have not sampled the baked goods. read more

I had a latte with an apple turnover which was yummy! It's nice to know that this spot is here because Shelbyville needed a neat hip coffee spot. Also the decor is so neat inside as it includes a lot of woodwork. There are also a lot of industrial elements & a sitting area outside covered in pergola. Oh I think I forgot to mention that they use & sell Just Love Coffee. I Just Love Coffee! I think I've found a new favorite here in Shelbyville. Absolutely terrible service. Waited for 25 minutes for 2 cups of coffee when they weren't even busy. After about 20 minutes I asked for them to change my order to a "to-go" order hoping that would speed up the process because we had somewhere to be. People who came in after me were getting there orders before me. Finally I asked for them to refund my money and was told "we can make it in like 5 seconds". Apparently not. After asking for a refund, nobody in the store knew how to operate the register so they had to make a phone call and be walked through the process. Finally after 30+ minutes, I left with nothing but a bacon egg and cheese croissant that didn't taste as good as Burger King's. Will not be back. read more

Good food, good coffee, great selection. However, I do not recommend the delivery service. Placed a $75 order today from work at 10:45AM for 12:00PM delivery.. We only have a 30 minute lunch break, our food finally arrived at 11:25 - both sandwich orders were missing the chips (although the menu specifies they come with). Also, my $5 frappe only had 1" left in the bottom of the cup from being spilled in the delivery persons car. He offered no replacement or explanation for the late delivery. He then proceeded to slam his car doors and peel off from our place of business - I'm assuming because he received no tip?.?.?. I consider tips a reward for good service (which we did not receive) This will most likely be my last experience with Coffee Beanz. read more
