If Cheers was a coffee shop in a small town an hour from Nashville, it would be the BBCS. Warmth exudes from every nook and cranny. Friendly neighbors stopping by to chat, signups to volunteer for community events posted, local art exhibited on walls, book filled shelves, and old cartoons/series/movies playing on the television all add up to an atmosphere where you just want to curl up on the velvet couch and stay. The coffee is tasty and hot with all the fancy stuff you want, fresh pastries are available and sandwiches are made to order. Quaint, quiet, and located in a (the only) dark back alley in that perpetual city of sin...Bell Buckle, TN...where heady aromas of fresh coffee and used books have power to cleanse the stains of last year's RC Cola and Moon Pie goo from your soul. Coffee? Tea? Hot? Frozen? With or without a lunch or a snack. You can even buy mini-Moon pies to stick to the backs of unsuspecting friends.  It's small and cozy, though looks can be deceiving. You'll probably drive past the shop a time or three before you realize you've missed it. The free tour is yet another clever plot by the City Fathers. But, the most disturbing thing city folk experience while searching a small town semi-frozen in time and place is...parking. No meters. No lines on the pavement. Few signs. Just follow the oil stains (or where you think they might have been.) A word of caution: There's even the fine print of a safety disclaimer to warn you away from Off-Road Joe's truly excellent potato chips. They're made in New Jersey. read more

My family was camping near by and decided to stop here for breakfast before hitting the road-we are so glad we did! This coffee shop (and the whole town) was so incredibly cute. Even though we only stopped in, it felt like a cozy place you could relax and chat with friends. This place is awesome. The people here are so inviting from the staff to the customer. I adore Grayson. She is a little ray of sunshine. She makes a fabulous cup of Joe. As I didn't eat here the food looks fantastic. From the ruben salad to the sandwiches. I would highly recommend if your in the area to stop in grab a bite. Or a coffee. It's all reasonable priced. A friend and I stayed a night at the Bell Buckle Hideaway just a few yards away from the front door of the coffeehouse. The next morning, we wanted some breakfast, and it seems that it is one of the only options for breakfast around there. We walked over and were greeted promptly in a friendly manner by the man working. I decided to get a small drip coffee and a bacon biscuit and my friend got drip coffee and some chocolate cake. They didn't have many options for a heated breakfast, except the biscuits and wrapped pastries. My biscuit was okay, nothing to write home about. It came in aluminum foil and was hot. My friends cake looked dry and she only took about two bites. The coffee could have been brewed a bit stronger, too. The reason I'm giving 4 stars, instead of lower, is because of the very friendly man behind the counter. He noticed that my friend hadn't eaten her cake, and asked her if she liked it. She told him no, and he went back and heated for her a blueberry muffin with butter on it. She ate that up. He was so kind and concerned. I think if they could offer better items, in a fresher state, it could be a great little place in a great little town. I would go back here, just for the friendly atmosphere. They already have good service with him there. In my opinion, they just need better items. read more
