I made a stop at Hope's after a somewhat disappointing dinner and this totally made up for the dinner. First off, the inside decor and decoration on the outside of the building are super cute and perfect for an ice cream/cookie shop! The employees at the shop are really friendly too. I didn't sample any of the many ice cream flavors, but they look great. The cookies got me, they are amazing! So many fantastic recipes and they're super fresh, too. When I last reviewed this place 11 years ago, I was disappointed and stayed away for years. I started going again around 2021, and they are so back. They still make the best cookies in the world (nostalgia may be a factor). Fresh, flavorful, and not too sweet. I've tried most flavors, and they're fantastic. FAVE COOKIES - caramel pecan (delicious, love the soft caramel) - lemon cooler (totally unique to Hope's, get one) - sugar (they use the best sprinkles, sweet and crunchy but not waxy!) - peanut butter (classic) - pumpkin spice (seasonal, tastes like actual pumpkin!) The vanilla ice cream is also better than what you can find in stores, so I pick up a pint whenever possible. Goes great with the cookies! The service is always friendly and quick even when they're busy with huge college orders, and it's easily one of my favorite counters to order from in the area. I always tip, because other quick service restaurants have made me appreciate this so much. They share the space with a pizza place, so unfortunately there isn't much Hope's-specific indoor seating. But the benches outside are cute, and cozy in decent weather. I wish their other locations were still open, so appreciate this one if you have regular access! The only other one I've found is a mini stand in a souvenir shop in Reading Terminal Market, and their selection isn't as good. read more

Got brownie and rice crispy treat. Total $9.70 Both I tasted and I'm throwing out. Waste of money, the Rice Krispie was horrible super hard, dry, flavorless, not chewy, not marshmallowy. Taste like cardboard. Just the worst rice crispy I've ever had.... The brownie was super dry and way too sweet. Hope's Cookies is a Rosemont Staple. Located next to the Rosemont Square shopping center, it's conveniently located on Lancaster Avenue. It has small parking lots in the front, back, and side, or park next door at Rosemont Square. They have a walk up cookie/ice cream order window, or you can order inside. It gets really busy at night. By day the place isn't too packed. Hungry for a savory bite too? Hope's shares interior space with a pizza spot, so you can have your pizza and cookies/ice cream all in 1 spot. Grabbed a rice crispy treat because I needed gluten-free & the cookie options didn't look appealing. The $4.00 treat was underwhelming. Where is the butter? I first tried Hope's Cookies decades ago and have loved them ever since. This week I went to the store on Lancaster Avenue, where I hadn't been in several years. I had my two favorite cookies, triple chocolate and walnut chocolate chip, which both had great flavor and texture. My son and his wife both had ice cream sandwiches made on the cookies of their choice. The concept was new to me but they both enjoyed them. Kind of messy so grab enough napkins. Just found this little gem, however, it's been open for 30 years. Awesome homemade cookies and delicious ice cream. The service was awesome and staff very friendly. There are a variety of wonderful cookies, I purchased 7 to sample. They have gluten free as well. I intend to take advantage of there many occasion (birthday, thinking of you etc) gift tins that they ship via online ordering. This is probably the top ice cream place in the area. Great outdoor seating, easy to walk to from other restaurants on Lancaster Ave in Bryn Mawr, and of course the ice cream is delicious. Parking can get tight, so be prepared to park on the sides or back. Hope's is a classic. read more

Hope's Cookies is located toward the back left corner of the Reading Terminal Market. The two things that I was looking at were the truffles and the cookies. There were many other items also. Everything looked so good. I was trying to be good so I only got 3 truffles and 1 cookie. There were so many choices for the truffles alone. I finally settled on 3 truffles- pear caramel truffle, salted caramel truffle and passionfruit truffle. Omg- delicious. I am glad that I only got 3 pieces because if I had gotten more, they would be all gone in no time! It was hard to decide on one cookie. They had an interesting flavor, lemon with white chocolate and coconut. I almost decided on this cookie until the last second, I saw THE COOKIE, heath bar crunch cookie. I love everything heath bar. I've been rocking with Hope's cookies since reading terminal. They used to sell their cookies for 1/2 price after 4:00pm and that's my two favorite things: 1/2 price and cookies! Either way, happy to catch them at their brick and mortar in Bryn Mawr. Their cookies are always delicious and their selections are legit. This time I tried their ice cream and it didn't blow me away with flavor options but they gave me a lil razzle dazzle with cone options and I ain't mad at that. These are the BEST cookies! 4th street cookies maybe bigger in size and Insomnia Cookies maybe deliverable til the wee hours, but neither compares in taste & variety of flavors. Oh Hope's Cookies...I just don't get the hype. The location is cramped to the point of almost being stuck in an overstuffed elevator. It's good to go if you want some Snap pizza and then dessert! Second, just want to say the customer service is outstanding. Recently, I needed to order 3 dozen cookies for a son's friend who broke his arm. I placed the order on a Saturday and sent to an email to Jay (the manager) to see about expediting the order to be there quicker. Jay called me on a Saturday to discuss the options, pricing and asked me to call him in the office on Monday- at 6:30 AM! Super-friendly cookie master Keirra helped me choose what cookies to stock up on, describing each delicious morsel. She gave me the option to add trimmings and a bow to the box. I came during the end of the day where they were nearing closing and rather than paying full price for cookies (by the pound), the cookies were $1 each. Yup, I can deal with that.
