We had an early dinner on a Friday night, so the place was really empty. We will had a pretty long wait for a server and she seemed kinda annoyed we were there and at any of our questions about the menu. The food took a really long time to come out, which normally I don't mind waiting as long as the food is worth it, but it wasn't. It was decent Italian and we did enjoy the calamari and the mozzarella and eggplant stack, but both pastas were very greasy. The cocktails were your basic options, would probably do wine or a beer if we return. The saving times of this place were the cheesecakes! The chef's mom makes them homemade and they were incredible! This restaurant is located on the corner of West Chester Pike and Eagle Road. We've been to their old location but never this one which we've driven by many times. There's a downstairs bar with a few tables and a small upstairs dining room. That's where we sat one warm Friday night by the open window. We started off with cocktails and an eggplant and mozzarella tower which was breaded with Panko and served with rosa sauce. Although it wasn't quite what I had in mind, it was still good, and I liked how much sauce there was. I also had the mussels (a special) which were in a delicious broth while my husband enjoyed another special featuring chicken. Ate downstairs food was out of this world. I had veal Linda with cavatelli. Took some home and had it the next day. Martinis were delicious.

I was shocked to find such high-quality food in such a run-down suburban mess of concrete! We had lovely outdoor seating experience despite being next to the Starbuck's, and the service was efficient and professional. The prices are high for the area but more than match the quality of the food in my opinion. My only small disappointment was with the slightly chewy and cold bread served. I specifically asked for bread and was told that they didn't have enough for the restaurant patrons, so take out would definitely not be receiving any. A must stop! we have heard about this place for years but never stopped in. Finally ate here tonight and what a great meal! service was great and food arrived freshly prepared and piping hot. I had the tomato stack as appetizer and my husband had the baked clams. both were so perfectly prepared, well seasoned with fresh ingredients. For dinner he had the rib eye special and I had the veal pepperincini. Again, food arrived piping hot, properly seasoned and properly cooked. Delicious! Portions are quite large. Ended up bringing home enough for another dinner and we were stuffed. If you've never tried Pepperoncini, highly recommended. Will certainly recommend to others make this a regular spot. read more

These folks have reinvented themselves and the lovely wife and I had the honor and pleasure of attending their soft opening on Wednesday. Their GRAND OPENING was Friday. They closed for a few weeks and they are now a beautifully remodeled Italian BYOB! Let's talk atmosphere. They didn't have much to work with, it's basically a square room, but they did a darn good job with what they had. It's a small place with about a dozen two and four tops. Spacing is fine. The wife and I both commented that their chairs are very comfortable. The colors they choose are nice and the lighting was just right for us. The menu has plenty of variety and should please most folks. We choose a simple appetizer of Cheese Steak Egg Rolls for $9. The ribeye steak was juicy and flavorful. The accompanying spicy ketchup was spiked with Sriracha and has a nice kick. For her entrée the wife choose Mediterranean Sea Bass for $21. This beautiful piece of fish was baked in parchment paper along with artichokes, diced tomatoes, red onion, white wine, olive oil and herbs. She had a choice of having the chef remove the paper or doing it herself. That was a nice touch. She proclaimed it delicious and was especially pleased that it was not too heavy. I choose Girasol Raviolis for $18. They were filled with buffalo mozzarella and served was roasted vegetables, and lots of grilled chicken in a rosa sauce. As you can see from my picture it was a large portion. I thought the vegetables were slightly overcooked but it was still a very tasty dish. For desert we were served a trio of house made deliciousness. See my picture and you know we walked out stuffed and smiling. This is one of three locations for these folks. I wanted to let everyone know how great the staff and the patrons were on Saturday night. My mom had a choking incident and everyone, including the patrons were of tremendous help!!! People we didn't know went out of their way to help our family and my 90 year old mother. Negative news always trumps the good stuff, but there are plenty of decent, caring good people out there. Came here for easy curbside pu during Covid outbreak. We ordered chicken parm, spaghetti, pasta y fagioli and Caesar salad. For $35 it was multiple meals for a family of 4. The pasta y fagioli is among the best I've had. Loaded with a broth that will leave you wanting more. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. I started with the pepperoncini style baked clams which were delicious. Than I had pork chops which were to die for! The owner and Chef Tommy checked in to see how everything was....a nice touch. After dinner I ordered a few of their homemade desserts to go. As far as Italian food goes in Delco, Pepperoncini is not only the most creative, but also the most delicious. It's a very romantic setting, really cozy and intimate. Perfect for a date night but also good for groups, they're very well equipped to handle a crowd (and several bottles of wine!) But the best part of Pepperoncini is hands down the food--classic Italian with just enough of a twist. I don't know if "edgy Italian" is a thing, but they do it well. It's also BYOB, which keeps it affordable and convenient. And do not skip dessert, that's quite possibly the yummiest part. I would definitely recommend checking it out, they're on Open Table now too, so it's super easy to make a weekend reservation (which you should absolutely do because they always have a full house). read more

What a surprise to experience the new Pepperoncini in Havertown!! I am a tough critic of restaurants. My dinner was great! The bar is cozy and filled. The staff was welcoming. And my veal chop was up there with the best of the best! The side order of pasta was perfectly cooked and the marinara was excellent. My wife had a chicken and shrimp and lobster ravioli dish. All very well prepared with delicious sauce. I must say I have been to the other Pepperoncini locale in Conshy many times. They are no longer same ownership. The Conshy location is a okay neighborhood destination. The Havertown location is worth the drive and surpasses the Conshy restaurant. A very good meal for a fair price. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful . I had a Caesar salad and clams with white sauce and spaghetti. Generous portions prepared well . Overall a pleasant Italian smart casual dining experience. The food lacked the super freshness or quality of ingredients that I'd prefer. Everything was mainly well-executed with a few flaws. For starters we ordered the sausage and spinach ravioli. It needed more seasoning and aromatics. Also would have preferred the pasta dough be fresh. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Pasta was not fresh and a bit undercooked. The sauce was good. Slightly acidic and maintained tomato-fresh flavors in a very flat, non-complex way. The chicken lacked the crunch of a good chicken parm. The meat was well-executed in temperature yet held just a bit too much salt from the apparent brining. The Tiramisu was good, though not as intensely smooth and creamy as I'd prefer. I beleive Pepperoncini needs to improve it's ingredients and put more effort into the execution of their dishes. They aren't quite great yet but I'd be willing to come back and try again. read more
