    Chicken pad Thai

Oh dear... I really dislike dropping stars but... Service. The past few times that I have gone there it has been lacking. I don't like to be made feel that the staff are cooler than me and I am taking them away from something much more important. Nobody is cooler than anybody in my book. I respect your role as server/host to my experience and I genuinely appreciate the hard work that you do, because it is a tough gig. But in return I expect you to respect me as your guest that is willing to pay for the time and food. It should make no blind bit of difference if I am not dressed in fine threads or if I appear to not be perspiring bullions of gold. All you need to know is that I will pay the bill and will relay a positive or negative experience to friends. But lately I pay the bill begrudgingly. To me although food is very important, and you do do great food, even if the fare is mainstream it is compensated by service that is genuine and engaging. Again that's me. Perhaps I am alone in this opinion and I won't not ever go back but I would be lying if I said I would not hesitate whilst thinking of alternatives. The positive is that this is fixable.

Veggie yellow curry via delivery, so good!

I think Koh is one of the best delivery options in Dublin city at the moment. The food is really gorgeous and they are the only Thai delivery I have found in Dublin that does genuine vegetarian curry (all the others use fish sauce in all curries). I spoke to a staff member at Koh who explained that their Yellow Curry is totally vegetarian as they had received lots of requests for a curry without fish sauce. I'm literally obsessed with it, it's so good! You can even buy tubs of the sauce itself for 4euro and then throw in your own veg/tofu or whatever you like, if you are that way inclined! :) I've come here for dinner maybe twice and although the food is nice it's not somewhere I normally think to go to. It's nice maybe once in a while? Their cocktails are fab though!

Let me start by PRAISING the service, it was truly wonderful. I got the chicken cashew nut and it was good, not what I was expecting and a lot of soy sauce going on (not a fan of soy sauce) however it was tasty and I ate it, I can only imagine what one of their curries or stir frys would taste like, maybe heaven? The inside of the restaurant had a very fancy look and vibe and it was lunch time so also a lot of fancy business people. I WILL BE BACK!!!!!

Lovely food and atmosphere. I opted for the early bird which included a starter and main or main and desert for €22.50! A nice variety to choose from the early bird menu! I enjoyed some prawn skewers to start and a green Thai curry for main! A selection of cocktails for €7.50 also on the night we visited (a Sunday). By all accounts they're delicious! Although I can't vouch for that! If you're in the area it's worth calling! You can never go wrong with this place.

    Cocktails heaven!!!

I went to Koh for the first time on Saturday night, we didn't go to eat, although I've heard they do beautiful food! We went for the cocktails!! They specialise in cocktails and have a massive variety to suit everyone's taste buds if you like whiskey try the 'Bogwarrior' but if you have more of a sweet tooth the 'Pomegranate Smash' is delicious!! The staff where super friendly they even let us hang around finishing our drinks while they cleaned the bar!! The bar itself wasn't overly packed and they had some light music on in the backround, perfect for chatting with friends! Next time I'm defiantly going to try the food!!!

My favorite Thai restaurant in town. My mom is from Thailand so I'm used to have wonderful meals when I'm going back home. This restaurant is amazing and the cuisine is really great and taste exactly like my mom's. Incredible! I usually go there when I get homesick and I am never disappointed. As a true thai girl, I can say that the food there is really authentic. The atmosphere is fancy and cosy, everything I love. The cocktail bar is great! They have awesome alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktail. I really recommend the Koh Samui and the mango cooler. Those are my 2 favorites non alcoholic cocktail. They have a 2 and 3 courses pre theatre menu for 19.90€ and 24.90€. This menu is available the whole night on Sundays.

    Nice & cosy

Good spot if you are looking for a fancy night. Nice lounge, very good cocktails menu The food is good for sure. But it is super expensive. Then why not, again, if you want something a bit special and fancy you have a great ambiance, great service, cocktails and food. Just be awear about the prices and standard

Thai food + cocktails = guaranteed great night out! Koh Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge provides the perfect escape from Dublin, in the centre of Dublin. Step into this restaurant and you are magically whisked away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin's city centre. The dimly lit, suave and sleek interior invites those who enter to throw off the mediocrity of the real world and enter into the wonder that is Koh. This place is so far removed from Dublin - a charming, relaxed haven that could be in Asia, London or even Australia (sigh!), but definitely not Dublin. It had been one of those trying days. The weight of the world was on my shoulders and things were not good in the land of Jo. I made an emergency call to a friend... something drastic had to be done! We decided that the best thing for it would be to soothe our crumpled nerves with some good food, wine, and hey why not - cocktails! Upon arrival we made a beeline for the bar, resigned to the fact that we'd have to sample a cocktail or two while waiting for our table (life is tough sometimes). It really had been a tough day, so berry-infused bubbles were on the agenda for me, and my friend was taken by many of the offerings but eventually settled for the strawberry-muddled Bobby De Niro. Ladies of Dublin please note: Monday night half price cocktails. You owe it to yourselves to be there. By the time we made it to our table my bad mood was forgotten and life was beautiful again. The green monkfish curry - a little spicy and a lot divine - was succently beautiful and tasted amazingly healthy. Bookings are recommended here as this place is really popular, but the bar is pleasant (and tasty) so if you have the time, I recommend you take your time. My friend and I are not high rollers yet (yet being the operative word) so our wine choices are, out of necessity, conservative. We have a tradition of choosing the second cheapest wine on the menu - cheap, but not nasty. We've found this formula to be quite successful in the past. This time it was definitely a winner - a crisp, South African white that complemented our meals brilliantly. When we emerged from the magic of Koh, refreshed and replenished and ready to take on the world, we were slightly surprised to find ourselves in the centre of Dublin once more. Koh is an enchanting refuge for lovers of cocktails, Asian food and escapism alike, and I will definitely be back for some more Zen soon.

Very trendy restaurant, good service, and yummy food! I ordered the singapore noodles and requested rice noodles instead of the egg noodles, simply because of preference. It said it was mildly spicy, which I was worried about because I've been to restaurants that have a very different idea of what mild is, but they weren't bad at all! Very mellow, with only a hint of spice. My boyfriend ordered the pad thai with tofu which he enjoyed. Wish there were less filler veggies though and more noodles/tofu! Overall, it's Thai food, and it's good. Nothing spectacular though!

I had just arrived in the door, a bit late but I was greeted warmly with a touch on the arm. I had to wait for my errant friend so felt like billy no mates but the room was dark so I didn't stand out. We were led to a lovely private table in the restaurant so were able to sit back and relax. I always order the same while I'm here which is Phad Thai and it never fails to impress me and leave me filled for the day. The toilets are a bit of a puzzle to me, I'm not sure if they are trendy or a pain with being a row of individual cubicles. I have found toilet seats up and pee on the floor so I don't know for sure if i like to use.

This place definitely has more of a trendy cocktail bar feel than a restaurant vibe. It's very dimly lit and I found it loud inside, but then again, we were seated close to the bathrooms, kitchen entrance, a Christmas tree and right beside what appeared to be large group booked in for an office Christmas party. I'd say it was more than "bustling" and bordering on "boisterous". When we were seated, we were told we should order our drinks right away, as the bar was extremely backed up, so we started with two cocktails. After taking our time to peruse the menus, we placed our order and the food eventually arrived at the table looking delicious. Just one problem - still no sight of our drinks. Now this was probably a good 15-20 minutes in. They weren't joking about the bar being backed up! We eventually got them, and they were delicious, so I won't harp on too much about that. It was a Friday night without a reservation during Christmas season after all. For food, we ordered the Red Duck Curry with Lychee and Aubergines and the Phad Kee Seafood with Rice Noodles. They were both really good, but I thought just a tad overpriced being close to €20 each. It wouldn't deter me from coming back though, seeing as the food quality was good at the end of the day. The cocktail we finished with for dessert was particularly worth a mention. We had the Fearless from the dessert cocktail list - highly recommended. I love how bartenders in Dublin are taking peaty whiskey and using it in cocktails to add a smoky depth to what would otherwise be just another syrupy concoction (yawn)! A memorable way to end our meal!

This place is okay. I think I'd rather drink here than eat here. It's Similar to my other experiences with eating oriental food in Dublin. Authenticity? Not so sure. Price? Expensive. Atmosphere and decor? Fine. I came with a large group that ordered appetizers for all to share so I'm not exactly sure what is what. Out of the ones that were ordered, the egg rolls were the only vegetarian ones and also can be skipped. Their okay, save your money for something else. The chicken skewer/kabobs (satay?) were also okay. Skip them unless you have an insatiable craving for them. The one appetizer I actually liked was one that had a coin of meat on a larger coin of sticky rice. The meat had good flavor and a little bit of kick in it and it felt good to eat it with some of the sticky rice, not all. Don't waste stomach space on sticky rice! My entree was laksa which was very different from laksa I've had in Singapore and Malaysia. This laksa had thicker noodles and much more peanut sauce, so it must be the Thai interpretation of laksa. It was still good, but not the spicy noodle soup kind of dish I was expecting. The pad Thai was DELICIOUS. If you come, you must order pad Thai. My husband and I always try pad Thai when we go to Thai restaurants and this was one of the better pad Thais that we have had. We also tried one of their drinks, an award winning watermelon one, and we didn't like it at all. It tasted bad. Real bad. Aside from the pad Thai, the other great part of dinner was the shrimp crackers that I think are included in your meal. We arrived late so I'm not sure how those came to be, but they were good!

It's an ugly grey metal door with VCC randomly applied, so if you didn't know what was there it would look industrial. There is a door bell to the left of the door. Ring it a few times and someone will open the door and check you in. With reservations they do make you wait until exactly that time so don't be alarmed. Your table is already selected for you. The inside is loungy and very swanky. Both times we had extremely comfortable chairs. Service is immaculate. Their menu is massive, very well published and explained. Our servers were both able to explain exactly what the cocktail may taste like as some of the combos might blow your mind. I had the Dirty Wizard which sounds odd on based on ingredients but was delicious. I also had the Purple Pearl which was my perfect cocktail. My husband tried a few different whiskey concoctions and he was impressed by all of them. I highly recommend adding VCC to your Dublin itinerary!

How it works: walk downstairs (look for the neon sign that says "sshhh!") and GENTLY press the pig head on your left at the bottom to open the secret door. Our server was a gem and helped us navigate the extensive craft cocktail menu-I LOVED THE "breakfast of champions " and my wife enjoyed the noonin which was a bit of a riff on a margarita. We started with the creamy burratta with grilled pears and bread-heavenly and so fresh. For mains I got the pasta with beef and onions(yum!), but the standout was the braised short ribs with creamy mashed potatoes-amazing! -and at €30 a fantastic value. In fact everything was very reasonably priced and cocktails were only €15 each. Out entire bill was just €120-at least 50% less than a comparable meal at a quality restaurant in the US. They are situated in the base of a sister restaurant, so from the main entrance the only give away is the neon "shhh" sign that sits over the stairway. Once at the base of the stairs an unassuming bookcase/shelf appears. This honestly got us, as we had no clue this was the entrance at first. We wandered around and into the bathrooms expecting some cool bathroom stall entrance. It wasn't until someone came out from behind the bookcase that we figured it out! We did let the "door" close and played with the art on the wall, including the bronze pig head, which turned out to be the hidden lever! Legit already wowed before entering! Upon entry, you are legit transported into a small speakeasy with a few high tops, a cozy bar and a small dining room beyond the second archway. The walls are stone, the lighting is dim and moody, the woods are heavy, and the vibes are immaculate! We sampled a few house-made cocktails, got an appetizer and a few main dishes. Spent a total of close to 2 hours, which is standard and actually timed. Which makes sense and I like, it keeps things moving, on time and allows plenty of time to soak it all in! The Jolly Roger and Espresso Martini were my cocktails for the night. There was a clear theme with both, as stout and espresso were highlights in both. For the app, we went with the fritto misto, which is a combination of fried cheese and veggies. Our mains were both pasta dishes. They were light and simple, yet complex and robust. They were tasty and impressive! Service was stellar from entry to exit. The host's, bartenders and our server were all top notch, friendly, helpful and a joy to interact with! Oh, I do highly recommend reservations! They are a small and very in demand spot, so trying to walk-in is a bit risky. Overall, we absolutely loved our evening at The Blind Pig! It was one of our best times and meals on our trip around Ireland...memorable for all the right reasons!

None of the cocktails taste the way they should but they come in big glasses and the night is young. So is the average age, clearly attracted by the prices. In fairness, what they do, they do well: there are plenty drink specials like 2 for 7euro on Tuesdays, plenty of comfy seats, a separate bar that serves only shots (all a fiver), the venue is clean, there are plenty toilets and the staff is alright. If you don't mind the terrible hangover caused by too much sugar in your drink and too many different kinds of booze or you are young enough to handle that sort of thing, try Capitol Bar. It was a beautifully designed picture-book inspired menu, with each cocktail having its own separate & artful page. I'm looking back on the menu & I think the drink I ordered was "Fight Club" (Don Julio Blanco, mango, Falernum, camomile, lemon, & sugar) & it was phenomenal. The bartender scorched a hot pepper & carefully placed it on top, which MADE the drink. He also made my partner a Paper Plane with Scotch. Delicious. Speaking of the bartender, he was a real champion. Such a nice guy with a bit of flair to his style of bartending. We really enjoyed chit chatting with him. It also seemed like the staff really vibed with each other & everyone was having a good time. Great atmosphere. The next time we're back in Dublin we will definitely be back to 9 Below Bar.

Though, I can't fault them on that because their seating is all oversized, comfy armchairs that you just sink into, so that is a sacrifice I can appreciate. But again: often crowded. There is a fireplace and vintage furniture, makes for a great atmosphere when you want a quiet drink, though it can get pretty loud because it's often full. They do have a nice selection of drinks though it's not as huge as some bars, but it's a nice place for a Port or Whiskey. I am a little put off by the staff, but it depends on who's there. Sometimes they're fine, not going out of their way to be nice, but decent. Though, one particular bartender is... tactless and comes off rude. Ordering from her is off putting because she doesn't really listen or answer your questions. It's too bad because when we come in and see that she's working the bar it kind of puts you off. It doesn't stop us though because we love the ambience and cozy feel to this place. Definitely somewhere you'd bring people visiting because the style and mood is hard to match.

Great for both beer and cocktails. Watching the bartenders craft drinks was an art form. Service was attentive as well. Lots of great seating, both indoor and outdoor. We opted to sit outdoors on a mild November night which ended up being a really nice experience. It was pretty busy even on a Sunday night. If you're in the area, definitely add No Name Bar to your list!

But Yelp calls it "No Name Bar." Late at night, this is the place to be. The music is loud, the place is hoppin', and everyone is movin' and groovin'. It's LOADS of fun, I can't express that enough - but it DOES get packed! If you are staying in Kelly's Hotel up above it, you MUST visit at least once to see what all the fuss is and why your hotel room is rattling until 2 or 3 in the morning. They have DJs playing every Friday and Saturday "from 10pm until late" as it's billed on their website. It's connected to the hotel, so if you are staying there, you can just head down the stairs to enter. From street level, use the entrance with the snail hanging above the black door with the address number of "3" on the door. It's so easy to walk past and not notice it. The entrance is JUST past the sidewalk patio for L'Gueuleton.

A group of us went here after dinner and we were treated like lords! As soon was we walked in we were treated to a bottle of tap water whomever browsed the menus. Embarrassingly I picked a Brooklyn beer to drink when there was a whole host of extravagant and elegant cocktails on offer! The bar itself was truly stunning, it was lit by candle light giving a real intimate feel, even though there were 10 of us there. It kind of felt like a secret club. Really top notch in my opinion, I wish there were more places like this in my City.

They have done a great job on it- I like the uplit bar and the brick walls. My favourite thing though are the upholstered chairs- they are lovely ! I have to say in general the staff here are very friendly too- even when its busy. I think the bar has become busier since they opened the first floor as Taste at Rustic. This has made the bar busier which is good for them. I dont like it as much though as it can take a while to get a drink. I had the Elderflower Martini tonight and it was lovely. My friends Martini with Passionfruit was a hit with him. This is a great place for a quick drink before dinner here or elsewhere.
