I needed to buy a gift card as I was looking at the gif cards the cashier comes over and says you need an ID to buy those which I found odd since I had not even said how I was paying, she continues to tell me I need an ID, Finally I pull out my ID and my Carters Credit Card and AFTER I swiped my card she said no you can't use the Carters card.. I found that odd.. So I walked out the store and I called the 800 number. Where it was stated to me that YES I can buy a gift card with my credit card and NO I don't need to show ID..I then proceeded to go back to the store to double check that i wasn't charged for the gift card since I had swiped my card. The cashier said well when you get your statement you will see if you got charge.. I told her absolutely not she was going to check right there and right now and I also informed them at that moment that was still on the phone with 800 and the tone changed quickl. I ended up going to another Carters with again ID and Card in hand and they sold me the gift card. I dont know if it was that I didn't look like them or maybe they taught that I didn't work whatever it was I felt profiled by this women at the Carters on Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood NY

The employee saw this and corrected me saying that the tote bag was locally sourced and handmade, which I understand and respect. So we continued looking around the store and when another employee came out to the front, both employees proceeded to talk bad about us. They talked about us in a small store where we were the only customers, we could hear their words loud and clear. Whether this was on purpose or not, I felt disrespected by the workers. I've worked retail before and I understand how frustrating it can be when dealing with customers, but I feel like they should have known better and at least waited until we left.
