It is always fascinating to see how different stores within a chain can be similar or very surprising. This Branford location is fully stocked and well merchandised. It is actually one of the nicest Kohl's department store's I've been in the past few years. There was a large display of Valentine's Day knickknacks as you first enter the store. There is a broad selection of merchandise for each and every member of the family. The store was clean and well organized with helpful staff scattered throughout the building. There's plenty of parking in front of the store and check out is professional and streamlined. read more

I Susan is the reason I go to Kohl's . Sephora is her expertise. She knows everything about anything that is sold in the cosmetic, skin care , fragrance that you could ever possibly want to use.. she makes every trip better than the one before. This Kohls location is pretty great. Nestled in the back of this shopping center plaza, it is reasonably convenient to get to. I've gone through the store multiple times and have made a bunch of purchases. The only downfall is that they do not have traditional shopping carts, making it a kind of a struggle to go in there with my 1.5 year old. Additionally, when I bring him in his stroller to shop the children's clothing section, the aisles are extremely tight and narrow making it super hard to navigate through it without constantly bumping into racks of clothing. On our most recent shopping occasion, I placed an order online for in store pick up and was basically emailed within the hour that my order was ready. I grabbed our son from the car and carried him in thinking ti would be easier, but then totally forgot that the Customer Service counter in this Kohls was in the total back corner of the store. Not really helpful. She I had to carry my son all the way there, thankfully the pick up transaction went super quick and then carried him all the way back to the car. So all in all, this is a great Kohls, but the set up could be a bit nicer if configured better. (A lot nicer than the Hamden one too) read more

Kohl's occupies that area between Walmart/Kmart and stores where respectable people shop. Not quite as classy as Macy's, not as trashy as Marshalls. In fact, some things are quite expensive. But I like the clothes for work and for play. They're not too expensive, but not cheaply made. We also have some dinnerware and kitchen appliances from Kohl's but for that stuff we either go Walmart-cheap or proper kitchen store expensive. If you're looking for cheap plastic containers, don't shop here. If you want fancy basket-type storage things for a good price, this place works. read more

Someone at this store made my 77 yr old mother cry. I am furious. My mother won't tell me the person's name or believe you me, we'd be having a chat. Apparently, a cashier was checking out my mom this morning (12/2) and when mom was muddled on today's date, the woman was out and out mean, making my her feel stupid. The poor thing is grieving the loss of her son and trying to buck up for the holidays and she gets treated like this? I would pursue this matter further but given how nasty the cashier was I wouldn't put it past her to find my mother and do more harm. As a Kohl's customer for years and years, I am deep disappointed. I've never had that sort of terrible service at my Kohl's in AZ. I'll be encouraging my mom to shop elsewhere from now on. read more

First off, I'd like to say I've shopped at this location as long as I could remember. After venturing off around the US and going to other kohl's establishments, I can honestly say this is by far the worst. A bunch of the clothing from Levi, Nike, Under Armor, the clocks and some of the shoes. Suppper over priced. Their Levi jeans are 69.99...Levi's website and their outlets are $25-35 cheaper. The same pair of Pumas I purchased for $45 in Colorado Kohl's is displayed here for $79.99. They say they offer price matching in the area and when I showed customer service in back they said go buy it elsewhere. I pulled up some items from kohl's website....their website and asked for that price and they responded with I don't think we do that. I asked if they price match with the manufacturers website or amazon as long as it's shipped and sold. Not trying to be a jerk, but simply asking. Despite the terrible looks and snotty tone of voice from the employees in the back...I went to ring out for some items that I wanted to buy. I saw the cashier give out kohl's cash and I'm well aware you have to spend over $50 to receive Kohl's cash. I have the charge card as well... my transaction came just shy of $145. I wasn't given any kohl's cash and I asked how come. The cashier said sir the order already went through and I don't know what to tell you; If you want it go to the back of the store and show them the receipt. Lol, at that point I thought just return what I bought and never come back. how about do your job correctly, basic customer service and know what your store can and cannot do. My family will not be coming to this store ever again. Waste of my time. read more

The entire Kohl's franchise is a scam. Giving you "free cash" and incentives to come in, putting everything on sale, but really the sales just puts the items at hardly even fair prices because everything is marked up and overpriced. Every clothing item I buy from here rips after one wear. Terrible quality - mass produced items. The associates here are completely unhelpful and are awful at their jobs. It took me 30 minutes to find 5 pairs of underwear in my size and the display was horribly disorganized. I'm never coming back. read more
