On behalf of my parents, First, receptionist informed them of the wrong days for carpet installation. Second, workers did not have the carpet for the first room that was specified to be done first during measurement/sales. Workers had to drive back to Cedarburg from Hartford and back. On the next room, a pink thread was found by my mom running through the carpet. She was informed it could be a stain and they would have to try cleaning it first before determining if it was defective. Third, the next day, my mom needed to ask them to fix the carpet under the radiator in the first room before starting on a bedroom upstairs. While she was getting a different room ready since the room with pink thread wasn't going to be fixed that day, she realized she didn't hear anything and went to look. No one or any tools upstairs or in the room that was being fixed but the radiators were off. Looking outside, no vehicle and no tools in garage. THEY LEFT WITHOUT SAYING A WORD! Forth, upon repeatedly calling them to get answers, a response was given "not everything was removed from the closets". The workers even took pictures. Nice, they take pictures of a room that is not ready since you need to put things someplace while a room is done before you can shuffle things back and don't start on the room next to it that was ready to go since the day before! Plus again, they NEVER sought out my mom, whom was down the hall, about which room to do or this needs to be moved, etc before PICKING UP EVERYTHING AND LEAVING!! We replaced the entire first floor, staircase and upstairs hall with beautiful hardwood. Conrad came to the house with dozens of samples to help us choose. He was upfront about the durability and pros and cons of each of the samples. The estimator was spot on which was amazing as the stairs required quite a bit of custom work. Having owned and worked in a successful small family business for many years, I am all about establishing great relationships and providing impeccable service bar none. Understanding that key people and quality products are somewhat of a dying breed nowadays unfortunately due to shifting buying habits, big box stores and online shopping. If like me, you understand and value a quality shopping experience from start to finish, you owe it to yourself to visit Kohl's. Our salesman, Conrad, is a real professional in every sense of the word- he KNOWS his product, is welcoming, genuine and knowledgeable. Once we made our selection Dave came and measured and gave us an estimate and, paying impeccable attention to the pattern repeat and detail of the carpet, he carefully figured out how to make it look esthetically perfect as a runner on the stairs! The carpet we selected for our staircase turned out beautifully. Also worthy to note, we had Kohl's (workers Darryl and his son Ed) come to stretch carpeting in the master bedroom that had developed a small wrinkle, which for reference, was carpeting that was in our house when we purchased it and not from Kohl's, and the job they did was impeccable- it looks better than new and we couldn't be more pleased! It was so reasonably priced - I am grateful that we did not have to replace the carpet. In closing, we love our experience with Kohl's and would not shop anywhere else. If you need wall to wall carpet, a remnant, window treatments or other flooring, make the trip to Kohl's......it'll more than likely be your first and only stop. I'm so pleased that this store was recommended to me by a home builder! When I was shopping for carpeting, I found that that Conrad from this store gave me the best, most complete information. I had had a very bad experience with a prior store, so I wanted to be sure I got the right carpet this time. Once it was installed, I noticed an issue with the carpet--so I called to let them know. Two of their people, plus the manufacturer's rep came to look at it. And without any arm twisting, they took care of it! It's great to do business with honorable people!
