I paid the agreed-upon 50% down payment in full, and the trouble since then has been communication and scheduling. I've had two start dates come and go with no work begun, and several phone calls over multiple days go unreturned after being told I'd hear back the same day. To be fair: the work hasn't started, so this isn't a comment on their craftsmanship, and I'm still hoping to get it back on track. My main caution to others is about the money side. Get a written contract with a firm start date and a payment schedule tied to completed work before you pay anything. And be very careful about large deposits sent by Zelle or Cash App -- those transfer instantly and can't be reversed, so you have almost no protection if the work never begins. If this gets resolved and the job gets done well, I'll come back and update this to say so.

Second, workers did not have the carpet for the first room that was specified to be done first during measurement/sales. Workers had to drive back to Cedarburg from Hartford and back. On the next room, a pink thread was found by my mom running through the carpet. She was informed it could be a stain and they would have to try cleaning it first before determining if it was defective. Third, the next day, my mom needed to ask them to fix the carpet under the radiator in the first room before starting on a bedroom upstairs. While she was getting a different room ready since the room with pink thread wasn't going to be fixed that day, she realized she didn't hear anything and went to look. No one or any tools upstairs or in the room that was being fixed but the radiators were off. Looking outside, no vehicle and no tools in garage. THEY LEFT WITHOUT SAYING A WORD! Forth, upon repeatedly calling them to get answers, a response was given "not everything was removed from the closets". The workers even took pictures. Nice, they take pictures of a room that is not ready since you need to put things someplace while a room is done before you can shuffle things back and don't start on the room next to it that was ready to go since the day before!
