Understandably the holidays are a hard time of year for all individuals in the service industry, however, that being said, we are trained to try to leave our troubles at the door so that we can help the customers to have the best experience while visiting the establishments we work at. I do not work at Kohls myself... this is about someone I know who had an experience recently, that as a person who has worked for over 20+ years in customer service and management, and the military, I find myself wondering why this individual found themselves thinking their behavior was ok. I'm not putting anyone on blast today; however, I want to acknowledge the manager that was on call that handled the situation, Dart. Thank you. Your professionalism, care, and understanding stood out today. Reasonably so. Customer Service individuals often are treated with disrespect; today the roles were reversed. Dart, thank you for treating my family with care, kindness, and respect, that I had been taught that is essential as a Customer Service Agent (of any kind). Now to the stars... Excellent selection of menswear today when I stopped in to Kohl's to check it out and look at the casual clothing. I needed another tshirt for this week and Kohl's hit the spot. Most of the men's clothing was neat and organized. Full racks of stuff and neatly folded on shelves. Most of the displays had price tags that were easy to read (and probably really easy for them to update). Some good bargains and some really expensive stuff. This review is specifically for the pickup option. Ordering online is super easy with Kohl's, and the pickup process is smooth. I got a text update that the order was delayed, and there was a little bit of a wait at the store, but all else went swimmingly. Very disappointed in the communication I had with an employee recently. I was checking out and offered to sign up for the Kohl's card. I asked her if this was a credit card, and she said no. I started signing up, and was prompted for my Social Security number, I asked her once again is this for a credit card? I do not want a credit card, And she continued to say no and explain to me it was Kohl's cash. I reluctantly signed up because she seemed convincing, and today I receive a letter in the mail, confirming a new credit card for Kohl's. I'm of course going to call and cancel, but I'm mostly upset because I feel like I was lied to, and deceived. I understand that retail sales employees get bonuses for how many cards they get people to start, but it just seems very dishonest to lie to customers, especially when they tell you they don't want something. I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I vastly prefer straightforward pricing to scratch off coupons and kohls cash, but the holiday deals here are worth the hassle, for the most part. Was vexed to find out that Kohl's cash purvhases didn't count toward free shipping so I did in-store pickup instead. Waited about 5 minutes while one cashier checked out another cashier's large purchase behind the counter while they both ignored the customers. Not impressed. read more

Depending on when you happen to visit this store, your experience may vary. Kohls is the king of coupons and you really have to be on your game to take advantage of this. If you pay full price here, you are really stretching. This store is typically in pretty good shape with regards to cleanliness and organization, but if you come when the sales are hot, you may likely find yourself frustrated by the lack of staff to reorganize everything. I have found that the staff here is friendly and willing to help the best they can; but those staff members are typically pulled very thin. read more

I have been here many times over the years. I don't know what this says about me, but yesterday I went to Kohl's to find something, anything to pick me up, spice up my life. Well, Kohl's you came through. I am so down on cold dark days, and need spring. I found the following cute wallet and purse that screams out SPRING! Yes I am happy with my purchase. Is the merchandise in disarray, much so. I sometimes throw my close on the floor and wear them the next day, so I am not the neatest. But I did feel like taking some time and fold some sweaters for them or color coordinate the wallets. Cashiers are always friendly and very talkative. I also get caught up in the deals, no good deal, no shopping for me. Give me some Kohl's bucks and I might just find something. Today they are having a 50% sale. The only reason I'm giving Kohl's two stars is because the staff at this location are polite and helpful. If I was rating solely on Kohls.com they would receive negative 7 stars because they inconvenienced me twice in two weeks and online shopping is supposed to make my life simpler. First, I ordered a new vacuum from kohls.com because our downstairs vacuum died and our plan was to demote the upstairs vacuum to downstairs and purchase a new upstairs vacuum. Yes, we are so fancy we have one vacuum for each floor of our house. Also, my arthritis is so debilitating that I cannot carry a vacuum up or down a flight of stairs. The only reason I ordered the vacuum from kohls.com was because after all their sale shenanigans and coupon mischief they had the best price and I'm a sucker for a deal. The vacuum arrived about four days after I placed the online order in a completely sealed box via UPS. I opened it up and noticed almost immediately that the tools had dust inside them. I thought this was weird, but not the end of the world. As I was continuing to unpack the vacuum I noticed there was debris in the canister on the front of the vacuum. Again weird, but I persisted. I slid the vacuum out of the box and grabbed the vacuum by the bottom to turn it over and my hand touched something unpleasant. I turned the vacuum over and realized there was long blonde hair wrapped around the rollers inside the vacuum - blech. Also when I took out the canister the filter had dust dirt and more hair in it. This vacuum had obviously already been used. I called kohls.com customer support for help and because I'm one of those insane people who think that unless you are actually knowingly buying a used vacuum on Craig's List or eBay, the vacuum should come brand new, never used, I assumed kohls.com customer support would agree with me and help me out. I was wrong. The gentleman I spoke with told me that kohls.com tries out every single vacuum they send out before it gets packed up to make sure it works and the debris and hair I was seeing was just leftover from the test. He assured me it was fine. He told me if I wanted to return the vacuum he would need to start a returns claim which would take seven days of investigation and then someone from my local Kohl's store would physically come to my house to pick up the used vacuum and only then could I go to kohls.com to reorder a new and hopefully unused vacuum. I very politely suggested to the gentleman that he was out of his ever loving mind and hung up. I called this specific Kohl's store and was told that I could simply bring the vacuum in for an even exchange. Also, I was told that the kohls.com person who I had spoken with was absolutely insane. As I am an epileptic and do not drive, my Mom was nice enough to take the vacuum in for a return and, surprise, the new vacuum had never been used. The following week even though I should have learned my lesson, I had that annoying and ever present Kohl's Cash in my email. My Dad is going to U of M for surgery next week so I ordered a Nike U of M football t-shirt knowing that it would arrive in plenty of time. I placed the order and the shirt shipped on July 10th and it was supposed to arrive by July 18th at the latest. On July 18th the post office told me it still had not received the package and the tracking number still said "pre-shipment", which as it was explained to me means that there is an intent by kohls.com to send the package out, but it has not yet left the building. I contacted kohls.com customer support and told them that the shirt absolutely had to arrive by the 20th. I argued with them until they agreed to send out a new shirt overnight. They also opened an investigation into the shirt that was in pre-shipment. Now I had purchased two Nike t-shirts and still had zero Nike t-shirts. That afternoon the tracking number on the first order magically updated after ten full days of being in pre-shipment at the kohls.com warehouse and then I received an email regarding the second order - both shirts would be delivered the next day. I also received an email from a customer service representative that told me that I was welcome to bring either shirt back to any Kohl's store for a refund or send it back, minus shipping, for a refund. My Mom returned the vacuum, so Mr. MVP took me to return the shirt and as I was walking out of the building I vowed to never ever shop at Kohl's or kohls.com ever again. read more

It's your run of the mill Kohls. A nice store relatively well organized with lots of selection. During the Christmas season it gets a bit crazy with the number of customers but they're always helpful. As is theI standard the items are all marked with higher prices and just about everything is marked down at one point or another. Prices are very good if its on sale. Not so much otherwise but you're a fool to buy from them when not on sale. Just wait a week or two and it'll be on sale. read more

I went to the Kohl's by my house on my lunch hour to return a home decor I had bought two days prior. I did not have the receipt but it was in its complete package and I had purchased it on my Kohl's Charge. I have had a card for over 15 years and never have experienced what I did on this day. When I went to the counter I explained I didn't have the receipt but it had been charged to my Kohl's charge. The associate rolled her eyes and proceeded to look it up, she quickly stated "nope not your Kohl's try again". Being confused I tried to ask if maybe if hadn't gone through yet because there was such close proximity between the time I purchased it and the time I returned it. She again in a rude and dismissive tone said "ummm no you used another card, so either try that or use the black phone and call online store to see." So feeling like I somehow must have offended her or been a nuisance I went to use the phone. When I used the phone the customer service rep was able to quickly pull up my transaction and report that the item had in fact been charged to my Kohl's charge. She asked if she could speak to the guest desk girl, I asked the girl if she could please come speak to her because they had found my account. She stated "sorry busy" while there's not one person in line and she's sorting hangers. So the customer service person on the phone gave me what I had thought was a receipt number. When I gave it to the girl at the desk she rolled her eyes again and said that wasn't a receipt number and she didn't know what I expected her to do. I asked for a manger, another women came up and wanted to know time of day and how much the transaction was bc she was going to manually look it up and she made me very aware what a inconvenience it was. Being on my lunch break I didn't have time so I asked if they could call me or if I could come back they said no. So I left with out even returning my item. Needless to say this was the worst experience I have had and even though I've been a pretty loyal Kohl's shopper I may be done after this experience. read more

Kohl's is such a mish mash kind of store. I want to like it but for some reason I struggle. Everything from the lighting, to the poor organization, inventory shortcomings, to even the time spent at the registers. You wonder why the lines are always a mile long. Of course this doesn't mean I'm going to avoid because you can find deals and decent product, you just might have to find it under 10 other things laying on top or dig beyond the items that are not even supposed to be there in the first place. I am a frequent customer to Kohl's for many years. Last night my wife and I we shopping at the store on south westnedge in Kalamazoo, mi. I must say it was the worst shopping experience we have ever encountered. We were shopping for jeans for both of us and the was no organization what so ever. We had to search and search because nothing was in order. Then when we went to try on some pairs that we did finally find the changing rooms had clothes piled nearly waist high along the walls etc. I usually don't shop at this particular store because it's on the other side of town but I can honestly say I will never return to this location again. When I spoke with the store manager they gave me the excuse of the scratch off promotional that was occurring and that's why it was so disorganized. That was a lie, my daughter had visited the store 3 weeks prior and commented on how poor of condition the store was in (similar situation). They need to step it up and clean things up. I would not recommend going to this store. It's tarnishing what used to be exceptional service. read more
