CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH! Tony the General Manager went above and beyond to resolve an issue that I had. I was there yesterday and a very helpful employee had made an honest mistake when trying to help me figure out a way to heat my greenhouse. The propane tank I ended up taking home did not fit the heater I had. Since I had the propane tank filled, it was Menards policy that they would not take the tank back. However, not only did Tony offer to take it back if there was no other solution, he did one better and actually came up with a solution! He walked through the store with me for over an hour, opening boxes, calling other employees and brainstorming until he came up with a solution to adapt the larger propane tank (100lbs) to the small heater I needed. He even exchanged the heater AND did a price adjustment for the inconvenience and my time to make it right. I was very impressed with his professionalism, problem solving skills and knowledge. I just finished eating a huge Mexican dinner and decided to walk it off at Menards. So I went in to get a little bit of exercise and walked around this place is gigantic. Menards to my understanding is the only hardware store that I know of where you can actually buy a gallon of milk and a pizza. Anywho I walked around and actually found a couple items that I needed and pick them up. I got a Craftsman lock for $4.99 with two keys and I bought some dog treats for my pups at home for $3.99. Not too bad a shopping spree for someone trying to get a little bit of exercise. I love Menards again they have pretty much everything you need actually in excess of than most of your big box hardware stores. read more

My husband needed a gas powered chain saw -- his electric chain saw and cordless limb lopper could do the job so I looked online and found that the Gull Road Menards had the gas powered chain saw he wanted so we drove to Kalamazoo. This was the first time he's been in the Menards on Gull Road, and he was very impressed with the selection in the store. My husband was very happy to see that all the employees were wearing masks. My husband and I are both "high risk" people so we were very appreciative that were so many people who cared about others' health rather than their own personal freedoms. He was able to get the chain saw he needed so he could finish cutting up the tree that had to come down on our property. We really like Menards; and if given the choice between Menards and the orange place or the blue place -- Menards is going to win hands down because they will always beat the other places' prices! read more

I know that it is extraordinarily unlikely that anyone reads this from Menards, or likely care in the least but please for all thing good and sane on this planet. When a person just spent over $250 on hardware, LET THEM GET THEIR THINGS BACK ONTO THEIR CART BEFORE YOU START CHECKING OTHERS OUT OR I WILL SERIOUSLY CHEW YOU OUT IN FRONT OF Everyone FOR BEING A TERRIBLY RUDE HUMAN! I like a vast majority of the people that work here, they are nice and kind and help you as best as they can, Cicel, Rod, and Pegge just to name a few off the top of my head. But when the cashier that needed help scanning things is also the one that checks some one out immediately after you sign and are still bagging and then flips the switch off and on again forcing the conveyer back on while you are bagging, sending someone else's stuff right into yours... You are a rude person and a bad employee. LOOKING AT YOU LYLE ANN! I was super nice and helped her in every way possible, every way conceivabe, every way imaginable, I grouped items together into poles as I need many of the same items, I left nothing on the deck for her to pick up, I arranged the long items with the scan tag on the same end... And what do I get, "sod off on out of here, I have your money now get your crap off my lane", not actually spoken in words but that is exactly what she did with her actions. The next head of cattle Lyle Ann put through, right on top of me and what I was trying to bag, apologized and even thought I was trying to leave without my wallet as I left it on the signing mini desk while I was scurrying like a caffinated squirrel trying to get things out of the way. Is this a little thing but it amazes me that I have forgotten this rudeness before but I will not forget it again. I will leave my cart in the middle of the walk way and leave before I go through Lyle Ann's line ever again. Not going to happen again, ever. Past all that it was a pleasant trip and got everything I needed to do my gutters. Fair pricing too. :-) read more

I absolutely respect Stores' rights to chose to enforce or not enforce health recommendations. (Menards stops ya at the door to mandate masks before entrance!) Hey it's their decision. But too often consumers keep forgetting how powerful we are in liberating America. I responded by saying, "I'll just spend my money elsewhere." Consumers have choice too! We can empower and/or disempower stores of our choice how we so choose too. So I went to another store (that sells the items I needed) that is not strictly enforcing face masks. Menards is just shaking in their boots after being threatened by Dana Nessel (Attorney General) for price gouging. So they're enforcing all the governments rules to a "T". read more

One stop for all the house ware needs. We were over the moon when this location opened since it's closer to our house. My husband usually likes to go there mostly since it's a one stop location for him when he needs hard wares for the house. Pricing are decent and service is great as well. As a new homeowner, I am so happy to have this store on this side of Kalamazoo. I will usually go in for something specific and end up buying something that caught my eye - they do a great a job of merchandising cheap sale-priced items on end caps. I love the garden center in summer and fall - lots of variety, and plants and flowers at affordable prices. Menards has a wide selection of merchandise including hardware and home improvement, cleaning products, seasonal merchandise, decorative items, etc. I do believe some of the brands they sell are a value brand compared to what you can find at Lowe's or HD, but depending on what you're buying, this is a great option for low-cost home improvement projects. The 11% rebate promotion is a nice perk of shopping here, but that usually means that many things are sold at regular price during that promo. The 11% will come back to you as store credit in the form of a mailed rebate. It is a little archaic that we have to mail these in instead of submitting online. read more

Will never buy anything from Menards again. I ordered material back in February and its still not delivered. They called this week and stated that it will finally be delivered at 8:30am This Saturday. 8:30 comes, 9:30 comes and no material. I called delivery and the employees stated he would check the status and call me back. He never did, I had to call him back and he still had no answers. They lack serious communication and are not worth the trouble. The delivery is on a job site which means 2 employees have ruined their weekend waiting on a delivery that never happened. Rather than ruin the rest of the weekend, i had Menards delivery set it up for first thing Monday morning, knowing how they've handled things so far, it'll be late Monday or even Tuesday before I get material I ordered over 8 weeks ago. Home Depot or lowes would've been a better choice. read more
