Kudos to Ryan for exceptional customer service here. I had placed an online order which included a vacuum cleaner and some blankets. I got a text notice that my order was ready for pick up so I headed over and checked the online pick-up area but figured the vacuum box was too large, so it was not in the area. I approached Ryan at the cashier counter for assistance, and he immediately offered to help find my order. He soon reappeared with the vacuum and blankets and got me all checked out. He was very friendly and helpful. I love it that I can shop at Kohl's then get Kohl's cash for future orders to save money on purchases. There is always a sale going on at Kohls...but of course this the last weekend in November is the grandaddy of all Kohls sales. Aside from all the usual sale items and Black Friday sales, Kohls is now carrying men's Eddie Bowers' and Lands' End lines of clothing. It's been carrying the women's lines for a while. Previously the men's was only available on-line. What is really unique in our family (about Kohls) is that whenever our children are in town we load up our van and head over to Kohls to take in the sales...sales...sales. read more

Awesome awesome selection of clothing items, shoes, intimates housewares, etc. Superior customer service provided by Sabrinia. I went in to grab 2 shirts that I picked out from weekend circular and all the ooo's and ahhh's started as soon as I got there. The racks were well tended to and neat unlike other locations. Almost every size available in almost everything. Several floor employees asked me if assistance was needed. I felt so spoiled w so many options! I closed my Kohl's charge account because they refused to update my name on my account when I legally changed my name. First, I mailed them an updated copy of my driver's license. They send me a letter in response, addressing me by my old name, saying that I need to fax a copy of my driver's license and the court order for the name change. So I do that. In response to that, they send me a new card with my old name on it and it was addressed to my old name. At that point, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and explained the situation and said that I just need them to update my name because I legally changed my name and had sent the requested documents. The response I get is that they couldn't update my name because the copy of my driver's license that I faxed them was blurry, but they successfully received the name change documents. And I was told that all I had to do was send another copy of my updated driver's license and then they would update my name and send me a new card. So I did that. They still didn't update my name. That was about a month ago. So today, I called and closed my account due to being disrespected and they still had my old name on my account. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to close my account, but it became unavoidable when Kohl's refused to update my name despite the fact that I had sent them the necessary documents multiple times. read more

First of all this is the only Kohl's I have ever visited so I have no other comparisons to other Kohl locations. The store upon entering seems very dated. The energy seems devoid of life and dreary. The associates I have encountered were the only saving grace. I have been fortunate to be graced with friendly Kohl employees hence the stars not being a 1 star. The actual merchandise in the store seems antiquated and disorganized. I used Kohl's to make some Amazon returns since it's free and you don't need to package the return. However, the annoying downside is the ridiculously long wait at the return station. Twice now there has only been 1 person at returns. I feel so sorry for them. They could obviously use some help. Hey Kohl's you should advertise for positions at the return station. I mean at least three would make these lines go by so much quicker than a twenty minute wait. read more

Another retail dinosaur late for it's appointment with the dustbin of history. Sears and Kmart are calling for you to join them and go to your eternal rest! I had just finished work and decided to try to run an errand for my wife so she didn't have to go out again (yes, of course it's her fault) so I loaded an ecoupon on my phone and went forth. I was tasked with purchasing an electric toothbrush that was on sale and would have been a great deal after the promised $10 savings. I finally located the item in question and grabbed an overpriced Reeses bar to make sure I met the minimum purchase requirements. I was waiting in line at checkout, congratulating myself on my imminent slaying of a challenging shopping task when I was finally summoned to the register. I plunked down my items, presented my coupon and readied my credit card for insertion when disaster struck. That's a "prestige item" the clerk said, referring, I assumed, to the toothbrush, not the Reeses candy bar. "You can't use your coupon for that", she said. Frustrated and unable to read the Homeric Odyssey of fine print on my smartphone screen to prepare a cogent counter argument, I admitted defeat. I left, my fool's errand unfulfilled to return to face the music. I may have been shamed by a once [proud?] retail giant but the last laugh was mine. I spent $5 more and ordered it from Amazon Prime. Ack, what a disappointment. I've been to Kohl's before - hell, I've been to this LOCATION before - and it has never been this disorganized, dirty or cluttered. Don't even try to find your size in the mixed jumble that they call clearance racks, because it's not going to happen. The size that is listed on the hanger is NOT what the size is on the item - believe me. The store was empty on a Sunday afternoon, which is definitely not a good sign. There were people working, and they were all friendly enough, but everything just seemed out of place and totally chaotic. As someone who has tendencies of OCD, it seriously disturbs me when I see things completely out of order. Ugh! On the upside, they do have some nice clothes and the clearance prices are excellent. The dressing room assistant in particular was sweet. However, the cashier was completely non-responsive and just threw my purchases in a bag, no greeting, no 'thanks', no nothing. That was no bueno. I want to give them a three-star rating, but quite honestly, the disorganization and the surly cashier turned me off. Really, I know you don't want to be there on a Sunday afternoon - I worked retail, I understand. But that's no call to not even say "have a good day" or "thanks". Compared to the Kohl's in Ellicott City, this place is heaven. They had a great selection, however things weren't as well organized as it could be. I had no problem shopping and the store layout was a little different than most, but still very easy to navigate. We will definitely be coming back to this Kohl's. We really liked the location, as there are many other stores and places to shop at, along with a wonderful, but crowded, Trader Joe's a few miles down the road. read more

Selection is good and with all of the sales and coupons, the prices are great - especially if you can find what you're looking for (or even something you aren't looking for) in clearance! The store can get messy, but so can pretty much any retail store. It seems that stores in the Towson/Timonium area get shopped very hard. I have been to other stores in the area and have notice the same issues - fitting rooms are full (because customers leave their stuff in the fitting room stall, on the floor, etc) and the folded tables are disheveled (because customers unfold everything and then just flop it back down unfolded). It is a lot for the staff to keep up with unless it is a particularly slow day. And yes, like everywhere else, they are understaffed. Like all businesses, the bottom line is still something that cannot be ignored. Unfortunately, staffing takes a hit. My money is tight these days and I shop for bargains. I can put up with a bit of a mess to find a deal. I like Kohl's and would recommend it. read more

The store is clean and organized. I can pretty much find what I'm looking for. Just like any Kohls location, prices are marked up and then "allegedly" on sale for 40% off. So, you FEEL like you get a good deal. Overall, the quality of the items I purchase are good. However, I'd never purchase from Kohls without some sort of coupon. During my last purchase, I came in to buy a satin robe. I ended up buying a satin robe (that was advertised online) and a purse. The purse was "allegedly" $90 but was on sale for 40% off, the robe was about $16 which was the same price as online. I came with a 20% off coupon I received for signing up for coupons via email. At the register, the 40% didnt immediately come off but once I mentioned the discount to the cashier, she quickly changed it and rang up my additional $20 off and I ended up getting everything for about $35 bucks! She was really nice and I ended up filling out the online survey for her. Of note: There is another cashier here that talks ENTIRELY too much and too slow. She was holding up the line and usually does. Thats why I cant give this place 5 stars. She is a little rude too sometimes. But, quickly tries to cover it up. Anyways, there were 3 cashiers, the other two moved at a reasonable pace and cleared the line while this one cashier continuted to talk and push the Kohls Card. I ended up applying for the Kohls Credit Card as soon as I left and was approved! read more

I applied to work at this location and had a scheduled interview at 9am this morning. no one called me or emailed me to let me know they were running late and could not interview me at the scheduled time. I called the store and spoke with a manager which was a woman and she told me that the gentleman that is supposed to call me would get to me when he got a chance and then basically told me to wait. At 10:30 am the male manager doing the phone interviews called me. I was politely and respectfully telling him that I did not wish to move forward with the interview and that the lack of communication and time management reflects negatively on Kohl's as a company but was hung up on in the middle of my sentence. This was absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. Not only was I a customer of Kohl's but also someone trying to work for the company. I am appalled at the level of unprofessionalism I experienced today, I will never shop at any Kohl's again and will tell everyone I know about my experience and to shop elsewhere. read more

I have shopped here a few times and am impressed with the selection and prices. The store is clean, has ample parking, and a good selection of clothes and cooking ware. The last time I was here, I was shopping for baby clothes. There is a good selection of baby clothes with some of the standard brands of baby clothes: osh kosh, carters and bon bebe. While I don't think the clothes in general is as stylish as the clothes as Gap, the prices are pretty good if you find something that you like. There are racks of clothes discounted at 60-70% off (albeit a good fraction are seasonal) and I had a 30% off coupon that garnered additional savings. We wound up paying ~ $3 for each article of clothing when all of the discounts were accounted for! read more

I do like this store, and they have a good selection of jewelry that is nice enough for low prices (accessory jewelry, I haven't looked at fine jewelry here). The fact that it's solar powered now is a nice touch. I'm a little disappointed that the last time I bought anything from here, they left the censor tag on, and I don't usually stop anywhere around the store so I would have had to make an extra trip just to get the thing removed, AND I couldn't even find the receipt so I was worried they would assume I stole it. I guess, in a way, Kohl's taught me a valuable/painful lesson about trying to remove the censor with a hammer (hint, you'll break yourself). read more

I rarely come here, but when I do, it's usually disappointing. The place always looks like it just got hit with a Black Friday sale, everything askew, nothing in its place and very little inventory. How does this even happen? The staff is virtually nonexistent and the returns desk is an absolute nightmare. I had to make a few returns, receipt in hand, no hassle you'd think. There was one person working at the desk waiting on another customer and I was next. There was no one behind me. Clerk asked me what I wanted and I just said I had a few returns. She condescendingly told me to step away from the desk and that she would wait on me when she was done with her current customer. Wth??? I was 8 feet away waiting next to the sign that says "wait here"!! Lol...yes, this really did happen. Apparently she was in the midst of a covert 007 operation to which I could not be witness to or my life would be in danger (sarcasm). Point taken, so I promptly pushed my cart chock full of various towels and bedding to the side and took my returns to Forest Hill (further drive but worth it). I hope she remembers me while she's restocking everything that I took time to pick out. Btw, this location never used to be this bad and I'm talking close to 15 years ago. Although I typically don't have any issues with this store, tonight they refused my husband his 20% discount on a purchase from 2 days ago. He was told at the time of purchase he could bring back coupon for refund. Honestly, the discount was less than $10, but Cynthia was extremely rude. Awful. Went to buy some underwear and a hoodie. I asked an associate where the hoodies were and she referred me to what turned out to be the coat section. The section I wanted was next to where I originally asked. The underwear section was completely disorganized, with merchandise all over the place, including the floor. I could not find what I needed and there was nobody to ask. When I checked out, the associate asked in a loud voice how old I was. When I asked her why she said that I might qualify for a senior discount. Never mind that I'm truly nowhere near old enough, but her manner was insulting and rude. I've been here 3 times& will never return. While the prices & selections were terrific, the staff was rude & churlish. There was only one register open with about 18 customers waiting. The 2 cashiers at one register talked to each other & laughed about the long line. If this happened once, I'd figure that the store was short- staffed that day. However, it has happened each time I was there. With this economy, I think Kohl's would pay more attention to customer service. read more
